It's cute, it's charming, its inexpensive, it's in the middle of nowhere- it's perfect. You cannot - not like this place with Cherie Smith Taking care of you. Her enthusiasm is infectious. Cherie is super chill and she made the lemon meringue today herself - of course we tried it. Meat pie stand outs are - the steak Diane, as is the cheese burger which should be eaten with ketchup provided. The spicy coconut beef was fine. I tried the crocodile and that taste like chicken - honest. Food is only one reason to come here. There's so much character to this place from the staff and the patina of chipping paint that a chain restaurant can NEVER replicate. Make the effort to come here. read more

Pies were below average at best, no flavour, barely any filling with lots of air inside. Was bland and a bit too sweet for a cheese and bacon pie. Prices were very very high for what you get, $7.70 is far too much. Service atleast was pretty nice, decently quick and polite. Overall, much better pie shops along the coast, some of the best pies at Nabiac Bakery. read more

Stopped at Fredos for a quick lunch break on the way up North. Easy exit off the highway and we were there to tuck into a roo pie, a chicken satay pie and a custard tart to take out for later. These were all fresh and delicious. Quick friendly service and a great selection of pies. read more

On the drive back down from Coffs we stopped by Fredo Pie to prepare us for the long drive back to Sydney. I have never seen so many different flavours of pie in my life! There were about 70 different flavours to choose from We got the chicken and vege and garlic butter sauce, beef beer and chilli, lasagne and lamb in mint sauce. They were all fantastic that I can't pick a favourite. It's a pity this place so far away from Sydney but then again my waistline is probably thankful for that. I don't want to know how many calories were in each of these pies. Best pit stop on the Pacific Highway! read more

We visited like last week and this place is TOTALLY still open. I emailed Yelp to fix this. We stopped here as part of a pie tour of New Zealand and Australia and hands down, this was our favorite pie place! We had the kangaroo and lamb with mint meat pies. Both were delicious - the roo was rich with a slight sweetness like buffalo, the lamb was meaty and well-balanced by the mint jelly. The crust for each was light and flaky, not the slightest bit doughy (as if undercooked or too wet) or dry (as if it had been sitting too long). We also tried the pizza rolls, which were like a high-quality version of the pizza rolls I loved as a kid. The atmosphere of the shop is casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The staff person we chatted with, Niu, was wonderfully friendly. The store had a few customers when we came in, but she helped us quickly and efficiently. I can't wait to come visit again! read more

This pie shop is worth travelling to. That is all. Oh? You want more? Fine... With over 100 varieties of savoury and sweet pie, this place has them all. From steak to steak and kidney. From kangaroo to emu. If you can't find a pie you like, you're not looking hard enough. This place is a lot quieter since the bypass, but that means it's also now easier to find a park. I was worried that the Kempsey bypass might have hurt Fredos beyond repair since my last visit, but nope they are as good as ever. 5 Stars, that is all that needs to be said. read more

If you can, turn off, this place is well worth the extra minutes. We stopped here and got a variety of pies for a family, all were brilliant. Would have loved to see pumpkin pie, but you can't have everything :) read more
