This place is unorganized in terms of silhouettes/garments but I like the prices for the leather bags. A lot are old and many signs of wear but definitely worth the cheap price they put for them. You can find some bag gems here. Couldn't find any cool tees I like or pants. This store has like 1-2 employee but most times I went is 1 employee. I loved my visit here. I'm an avid thrifter in the US so I was happy to try Paris out. This is, like all stores in Paris, teeny tiny. And it is absolutely crowded. But that always works for me because it provides cover to go digging through things. The men and women shopping there are also very polite and sort of circulate together to ensure everyone can see everything. Mostly they sell jackets. There are two tiers of jackets all around the walls. There are also pants and shoes. The changing room is a tiny curtained off area near the front door so I wouldn't dare try pants on in there but braver people have done. The 1 euro bin was great too. I didn't see a real difference in the quality between the 1 euro things and the more expensive ones and I got a fabulous denim jacket out of the bin. My main find was a vintage 1980s faux fur coat in great condition (minus a hook closure) for 10 euros. Most jackets are between 5 and 10 a piece. When I cleaned my denim back home a fair deal of dust and grime came out and I had to clean the fur too for a smoky edge (France, sigh) so the one star off is for the cleanliness as compared to Goodwill and Salvation Army. read more

This thrift store is super sick. Like most thrift stores, there are some real hidden gems, as long as you're willing to search! I walked away with a moncler sweater that only cost 10 euros! I also saw a Burberry jacket for only 30 euros, but unfortunately, it was not my style. The only complaint I have is how crowded this store gets. There's not much space to begin with because the store is stuffed to the brim with clothes, and at some points it got so packed that you couldn't even move along the aisles. The worst of it was at the 1 euro bin. Couldn't even wedge a hand in. Although I personally had a good experience, I would only recommend this to people who have serious stamina and patience for thrifting. Otherwise, it is quite easy to get frustrated and quit. Luckily, there are multiple other thrift and vintage stores near by that are less crowded. But all in all, a must visit if you are an avid thrifter. read more

I feel like I got the steals of the century--a hip, chocolate brown leather jacket in perfect condition for 10€ and the cutest mod bag for 10€ as well. They could easily charge more for the good stuff but it seems that they don't. read more

Freep is probably the best thrift store I've been to in Paris, although it's grossly crowded and can sometimes be overpriced. I'd take it over kilo shop any day because it has genuinely well-chosen pieces. If you easily get social anxiety be aware that this place is tiny and you will get stressed. read more

Decided to check this place out based on the previous positive reviews. Visited Paris for a few days from California and was hoping to find an interesting thrift store. Welp this place was trash! Literally, the clothes were basically in heaps and the quality of the stuff was like what you'd find at a dump. I was so excited to come here and it took me such a long time to find it! So I was pretty disappointed when I didn't find anything that I liked. I go thrift shopping in the U.S. all the time and I thought the thrift stores in Paris would be amazing, but really they just had a lot of the same things, a whole rack of flannels, tons of leather and fur coats and a lot of sweatshirts. The 1euro area upstairs would've been cool to look through if there hadn't been 5-6 people trying to cram in at once and it was way too hot. The stairs were also very steep so beware. A bit expensive on some (designer) items but mostly in the 20€ to 60€ range. Check out the bargain attic for 1€ finds. Both the attic and downstairs sales floor were crowded but nothing as bad as some other reviewers mentioned in my experience-- I visited on a Saturday late afternoon and while the aisles are cramped, def not traumatizingly bad. This place is definitely for an experienced thrifter. It is disorganized, cramped, poorly ventilated, and full of hidden gems. The clothes on hangers will have price tags but those in boxes in the back room are priced by the cashier, usually around $3-5. There is one dressing room behind a mirror across from the cashier but you will probably have to wait. I'm not sure if it's always like this, but virtually every other item was polka dot or striped. There are piles of purses, scarves, and belts scattered in boxes around the store. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to dig. read more

This is not just a store-it's an adventure. An adventure in being pushed, shoved, crowded out, unable to reach what you want or get to the middle of the rack, and of course the death defying small spiral stairs that lead to the downstairs basement section. So why am I giving it 4 stars? Most vintage in Europe is shockingly overpriced. Stores think nothing of charging you 150 euros for a jacket with damage that hasn't even been drycleaned. At places like Freep Star, however, you have to do a bit of digging but the prices are reasonable. If you keep an eye out, you may see an employee hanging new garments on the rack as you are waiting. I spotted some 50s circle skirts and a 30s dress that were not too expensive that had just been put out. You can also ask for a list of the other stores-I believe there are 4 within walking distance of each other. read more

Hmm, I was pretty excited to go here after reading the current reviews on Yelp, but I have to say that, although it is extremely cheap, most of the clothing is frankly very old. There are lots of pieces with polka dot patterns so if that sort of thing speaks to you then maybe you should go for it. They have a one euro bin full of scarves and a couple of simple shirts. They have a ton of bags, but like everything else they are old and it isn't likely that you'll find anything brand-name, even if you dig to the bottom of the pile. I didn't stay for too long for a lack of patience but I'm sure that in the future people with both patience and open minds will make great finds in this store. read more

I was so excited to thrift shop here, and I'd heard some amazing stories about Free 'P' Star, but the actual thing was really disappointing. I actually went to all of the locations, perhaps the best one was on Rue de Rivoli, but even so, I wouldn't experience it again. There's a lot of fabulous vintage/thrift shopping in the Marais, so walk around and look and you'll find stores with better stuff. It wasn't crazy crowded but I spent all day digging and only ended up buying a couple scarves- though I must admit one euro is pretty sweet for silk scarves. If you go try to go on a weekday and best of luck to you! read more
