It isn't a competition school, which allows students to learn dance and just have fun! My daughter has autism and takes private classes because that is what works best for her. She has worked with several teachers and they are all patient and energetic. You can tell that they love what they do and they share that love of dance with the students. Another reviewer said they had a hard time getting to know the people there but I've had nothing but a good experience and think the office staff and teachers are very friendly and would do anything to make the students and their families feel comfortable. It doesn't matter if you have a child who aspires to be a professional dancer or one that just loves to dance and wants to learn, I believe this is a great place for them.

GOD came highly recommended by many of the friends we made locally, and I am so grateful to all of them. My child has flourished in this studio; Miss Beth, Miss Alyssa, and the other teachers love the students like their own children, and I have always felt welcomed as part of their dance family. Miss Patti in the office is fantastic, as well, and we love seeing Mimi! My child has learned so much about teamwork from Miss Beth, and the support and mentoring provided by the older dancers has been an inspiration to us. I can't imagine us at any other studio, and I'm beyond honored to be part of the GOD family. Thank you Miss Beth for the wonderful studio (and second home) you provide our dancers. We love you!

However, they wanted to take Irish dance class which was being offered at Perfect Point. The teacher, Maggie, rents space at PP, so technically she is not part of the studio. I have heard terrible things about PP but I figured it would be fine since my girls would be in Maggie's class. Wrong wrong. PP reputation is spot on. As soon as you walk through the doors you feel the negative, cold, unfriendly vibe. The receptions, along with the owner, Jess, will never greet you, smile, talk to you or acknowledge you. This is not the place to take your children if you want them to learn dance in a kind, nurturing, encouraging, positive fun environment.

There is no arguing that this dance school is excellent in teaching children how to dance however…read morethe way they hold their recital is not safe. Other dance schools will have you SIGN OUT your own child before they let you leave the recital venue but this is not true with this dance school. They had let my 6 yrs old daughter go on her own to some desk close to an exit door. When I went to pick my daughter up in the classroom where she stayed during the recital i was told that "she went with somebody she was happy to see" the person who is "supposedly" watching her could not even tell me whether it was a male or female that picked my daughter up which just shows that this so called "guardian" was lying. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! She could have been abducted and they would have not known it. This is a horrible experience and totally not worthy of my child.

I've been taking pole classes at Flight Risk Aerials (at their new studio in Randolph) for about 5…read moremonths now, and I absolutely love it here! I took a few aerial and lyra classes as well and I was very impressed with those classes too. Every instructor here has their own style, which makes every class unique, educational and interesting. The classes are normally relatively small (3-12 people depending on the day), so you get lots of individual attention and feedback from the instructors as well as whole-class instruction. Oftentimes we have to share poles, but this means that you make a friendship with your pole mate, which is a huge part of the experience in my opinion. The ceiling is very high, so we have very tall poles which makes moves that involve climbing, inverts, descents, etc. a lot more possible. This is a relatively small studio so naturally you will have more advanced folks coming to intro class sometimes and vice versa. Whenever there are many people in the class of different levels (i.e. some beginners, some intermediates, etc) the instructors always do their best to accommodate everyone no matter their skill level. I look forward to the studio offering more advanced classes soon. I've made many great friends coming here, as it is an incredibly thriving, inclusive community. It's always a very supportive, body-positive environment in my experience. I will certainly continue to take classes here as long as I live in NJ. I'll never go to a run-of-the-mill gym again. If you get the monthly membership, you get your money's worth after just 7-8 classes, which if you go more than twice a week is definitely worth it. Would highly recommend Flight Risk Aerials to anyone looking to get into pole, aerials or lyra!

Where else can you take an aerial silks class around here?? I don't know but I'd be more than…read morewilling to go back here for some other classes as well. A girlfriend planned a bachelorette brunch that started off with aerial silks as an alternative to the traditional binge drinking night of bad decisions-I would have went either way but this was a refreshing idea. The owner set up a paypal payment method so that whoever wanted to sign up could and it took the pressure off of dealing with all of it the day of. We had about 20 people show up for this event--it was a really nice group of girls and the owner (i guess, and her assistant) were both very nice and accommodating. So I can't elaborate so much on the experience because I'm stupid and hurt my back a week ago, didn't even think of it because it started feeling better but when I attempted to get on the silks it was just a no-go for me. I should have asked for a credit for another class as I sat out the entire time but it is what it is no biggie. So the silks hang from the ceiling, they are secure and you won't fall out (if you follow directions). They take you through a variety of poses and movements and help you into position if you need. Be prepared there is a significant amount of pressure put on the body wherever you are hanging from, so when you start out on the lower back that's the pressure, if you get into other poses with the silk wrapped around your hips or legs, that's where the pressure is. You might get some silk burn or some slight bruises but it's not like someone's punching you it's just a pressure thing. I definitely want to go back and try belly dancing, they also have pole dance, and chair dance. If you're looking for something different give this place a go!
