Dishonest dealership, had to get cops involved! SENT letter to Attorney General Matthew Platkins and submit complaint to BBB. I called twice on Friday, December 13th, at 3:50 PM and 4:38 PM to confirm the availability of a 2018 black Toyota RAV4 I saw on CarGurus. I spoke with Tiffany, who assured me the car was available and would be ready for my 7 PM appointment. She even mentioned a white Toyota, but I declined due to its high mileage. Based on her assurance both times, my mom & I drove over 1 hr & 20 to the dealership. Upon arriving at 6:50 PM, I waited over 30 minutes, only to find the car wasn't there. The salesperson, George, started calling their "sister dealership" to locate it. He eventually said it was only two miles away. I suspected they were trying to sell us the white Toyota instead. Ten minutes later, George confirmed they didn't have the black Toyota but offered the white one. We said no & I asked when the black one was sold, and he claimed 2 days ago. When I asked for proof of the sale, he acted frantic. It took awhile to check for the "proof of sale". This other tall guy in a plaid long jacket walked over to me around 7:43 PM with a piece of paper with the "proof of sale." I told him, "Sorry, give me one minute," because I was on the phone calling the non-emergency number. He said okay, saw me on the phone, & folded the paper in half vertically. As I stepped outside to continue my call with the non-emergency line, I noticed the same document left on the counter. I explained everything & asked for an officer to come out. When the officer arrived, they agreed the dealership's actions were suspicious & advised me to leave a review and contact corporate. Officer was really emphatic. While talking to the officer, the guy in the plaid jacket pretended to be confused about why the police were there. Then another guy with a blue suit came out, pretending to be a manager. I'm thinking okay he's the Dwight Schrute of the office, so okay (Acting) Manager. He was acting shocked, & said, "OMG, what happened? Is everything okay?"--but with a nasty smirk on his face. I told him if he didn't know what happened, he shouldn't be out here. How was he the manager when he worked at the front desk & checked us in when we arrived at 6:50. The "acting manager" asked, "What time did you call?" I told him I called at 3:50 & 4:38 & spoke to Tiffany, who assured me that the vehicle would be ready for my 7 PM appointment. Then he was like, "What? It is now 8:20, of course the vehicle is sold since you called at 4:38 PM." I told him we came at 6:50 PM, & HE checked us in. He got silent. At 6:50 pm we specifically told him we were there for the black RAV4. So if the vehicle was sold between 4:38 PM and 6:50 PM, why didn't he say anything as soon as we arrived? Also, wasn't the car at the "sister dealership"? The cop and I just looked at each other. He tried to claim the car was sold between 4:38 PM and 6:50 PM, despite George already printing out the paper stating it was sold two days ago. The "acting manager" denied knowing about the sales paper that was previously trying to be shown to me, so I retrieved it from the counter. The document was printed before the cops got there & was meant for me to see. I opened the paper and saw it clearly said 2018 RAV4. He took it back & kept stating that it had customer's information on there, but he was trying to show me that SAME paper prior to the police showing up. This paper was obviously meant for me to see, but now that the cops were involved, they didn't want the officer to see it because it's 100% clear they are falsifying documents. They denied that they ever tried to show me a paper. I kept asking for them to go get the real manager but they didn't want to. When I asked to see camera footage, they claimed it wasn't accessible that night, an obvious attempt to avoid accountability. All in all, Mitsubishi Motors in Freehold is a fraudulent business that uses bait-and-switch tactics. Based on all the reviews, we are thankful that we never purchased from them. They responded to my review on Google "Unfortunately, there was a scheduling conflict, and another customer who had previously expressed interest in the vehicle was present at the time of your visit. As they were here first, we had to honor their priority on the purchase. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist you with or if we can help you find a similar vehicle." Their response is completely dishonest and does not match what happened. I called the dealership twice on the same day--hours before my visit--and was repeatedly assured the vehicle was available and ready for my appointment. At no point did anyone mention another customer or any "priority on the purchase." This is not a case of a scheduling conflict--it's a clear example of deceptive practices.

We had a unique issue in that we wanted to pay cash but couldn't get the cash from our HYSA that day. Their finance department suggested we finance the vehicle and pay it in full before any interest accrued - they quickly completed the finance process and thus we were able to get the 4Runner that day. I had an appointment to see a used car in their inventory. I arrived 15 minutes early, when I walked through the doors I was greeted and shown to my sales advisor that will be taking care of me. I mentioned the vehicle, I was interested in seeing the sales associate got the keys and a dealer plate and we went for a test drive. The vehicle drove exceptional. We sat back down at the desk and started talking Numbers. They were great and very straightforward we agreed on a number and got the paperwork going. Michael the sales associate was extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and firm in certain aspects of the negotiation which I appreciate. I then turned to the finance department and the finance advisor Tommy, helped me submit my credit application and came back with an approval we closed the deal. Meanwhile, my vehicle was getting detailed and was ready for me five minutes after I signed all the paperwork. This dealership is one I would recommend 1 million times over to anyone looking to buy a New or Used vehicle of any make. These guys provided the best experience possible. I cannot thank you guys enough you have gained a forever loyal customer.

The other just hangs up. Nobody answers the phone or texts. They think they don't have to provide service because, in their words, "they are a luxury brand". I finally got someone to answer the 732 number after several attempts to confirm a car was still available. They confirmed it was and only mentioned a $995 fee and sales tax when I asked about any other fees. When we went to test drive it, they "ran the numbers" and surprise! The price was $2,000 higher than listed. These deceptive guys added $848 accessory fee and $995 proc/doc fee. Yeah they will tell you they have to charge them, but that is not true. I have bought two cars in the past 12 months so don't BS me. The accessory fee was for vehicle anti theft and filling up the tires. We said we won't want them, but they wouldn't budge. Well then it should be included in the price of the car. Deceptive! The $999 fee doesn't include "government fees" or taxes. It is just another way to charge more but under list their cars. Deceptive! I strongly advise against shopping here.

These days, it is not often that a sales person goes the extra mile to ensure a client's piece of mind and satisfaction. It is an absolute pleasure dealing with Jeff Morrissey, but I am a little biased having known Jeff for many years. Jeff took every measure to ensure that my experience was impeccable from start to finish. I have dealt with countless dealerships in my past in my hunt for a new automobile. Unfortunately, the majority of them were useless. Typically, they would arrive at a point where they stopped answering my questions, or I knew more about the product than the sales person I was dealing with at the time. From my first contact with Jeff, to dealing with Sales Manager, Gary Louis, to finalizing the deal with Rich Bishop in Finance -- a First Class Act! It is GREAT to know there are some companies that still believe in EXCELLENT Client Service. I have no doubt that we will once again return to Freehold Buick GMC when we are ready to renew my other lease. Once again it was a pleasure doing business with your company and I know the relationship we have developed with Jeff and your company will be a longstanding one. Sincerely, Joseph D. DeVito

I brought my 2019 Buick LaCrosse to Freehold Buick GMC for a transmission concern. On May 4, 2026, Service Advisor Carmen Semenza told me the service contract claim had been denied. I clearly declined the transmission replacement and said I wanted my vehicle returned. My vehicle remained at the dealership for 31 days. On May 8, Carmen told me the transmission had already been disassembled, described broken parts in a tray, and said there was no guarantee the vehicle could be put back together. When I inspected the car the next day, the transmission appeared to still be installed. The driveshaft had been removed, exhaust components had been cut or disconnected, and a replacement transmission was under the vehicle. What I observed did not appear consistent with what I had been told. On May 12, Service Manager Bill Marter told me I was financially responsible because the replacement transmission had already been ordered and could not be returned. I repeatedly requested the written policy, authorization records, and documentation supporting that position. I was never provided with them. When I tried to escalate my concerns, Bill told me that he did not report to the General Manager. My requests for dealership ownership to review the matter also went unanswered. This left me with serious concerns about accountability and where a customer can turn when a major service dispute occurs. I also received multiple missed completion dates and inconsistent explanations throughout the process. The original signed agreement stated that the exhaust and transmission would be installed for $4,000 plus tax. At the last minute, however, I was told the amount was a "deductible." When I picked up the vehicle, the final invoice instead listed a "Misc. Charge" and referred to a GM claim and deductible. I do not have a GM service contract. My contract was through a non-GM third-party provider. No GM pre-approval was attached to the invoice, and no New Jersey sales tax was charged even though the signed agreement stated $4,000 plus tax. I was never given a satisfactory explanation for why the description of the charge, the contract classification, and the tax treatment changed. After 31 days, I paid the amount demanded to regain possession of my vehicle. I do want to thank Anthony, who treated me professionally, listened to my concerns, and helped move the process toward finally getting my car returned. My advice to other customers is to get every authorization, estimate, coverage decision, parts order, charge, deductible, and cancellation policy in writing before allowing major work to proceed. Based on my experience, I would not return to Freehold Buick GMC for service.
