I'm so happy that Michael has decided to *officially* branch out on his own, because I have projects I've been putting off until he became available, lol. From small jobs like fixing a door casing, to large home remodels, he's incredibly skilled at anything you throw at him! If he doesn't know how to do something, he will tell you, but will also do the research to figure out how to do it correctly (a sign of true integrity, in my opinion!). I found Walnut Builders, LLC, at the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. The company had an A+…read morerating. I already had had some bad experiences with contractors in Bloomington. When I contacted Walnut Builders through the BBB, the company was super quick to respond to my inquiry. That alone made the company a refreshing contractor to work with. Then, they scheduled my work in my home within two weeks, maybe faster. First, they fixed the mistakes of two previous contractors. Then, they not only handled my list of things to do, they even found some problems in my electric system that could have been very dangerous - and they fixed it. They took care of everything that I needed quickly and efficiently. All their work is of high quality. Daniel and his team were courteous and friendly and respectful of my home. They are super clean about all their work and clean up all their work messes (I think they even cleaned up some of my messes). Mike Smith of the company inspected the issue proposed a fix that included a drainage system and sump pump. He also assured me that they could take care what ever issue they may find down there. His estimate was very reasonable. The work started when they said it would. WHAT A WEIGHT LIFTED FROM MY SHOULDERS. When the three man crew arrived and introduced themselves and the supervisor outlined what they would be doing and when they expected to complete the job. The supervisor, Efrain, and Salvador and Eddie gave me confidence I was in great hands. Now this is something you hardly ever hear anyone say anymore; but I have never seen three men work so hard and professionally as those three did. Efrain kept me totally abreast of the progress with before and after videos. I know I have restricted myself in the past to restaurant reviews as my wife and I are foodies. A row of the tiles doesn't match the alignment of the others, and there are gaps between the tiles, and between the tiles and the wall, the tub, and the door landing. There are also two areas behind the toilet that weren't covered at all. I was charged an additional $1,3000 so that a so-called specialist could be brought in to finish the floor. They also brought in a ladder to look at doing a project in the kitchen and left it in the house. I told them it was still here and put it by my driveway for them to pick up. it took them days to get it. Twice they were scheduled to do the floor work and didn't show up or call to say they wouldn't. This was an expensive mistake.
