Collision centers are never a place you want to be, but having one that's so friendly and provides such great service really helps cushion the blow. Maziel (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was a gem from the beginning. Our 2020 Kia Telluride was rear-ended, and our insurance sent us to Fremont Collision Center. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile, and the location was clean and really taken care of. They even had a vending machine--which stood out to us since we own one ourselves. Maziel came out to look at our car and had us sign some paperwork. The process was quick and easy. Throughout this headache of an experience, she kept us informed while always maintaining her friendly demeanor. Unfortunately, the insurance company ended up totaling our car, so we won't get to see the actual work Fremont Collision does. But based on their customer service alone, I would have no problem bringing another vehicle to their location. Hopefully I won't need to--but it's reassuring to know they're there. read more

Isn't the whole point to get a price quote? Thankfully the final total when I picked up was lower than expected. Follow through can be greatly improved. Short version: This was, without exception, the single worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. Please please please do not give your car to these people under any circumstances. They held my car hostage for 3 months after a simple minor collision and left me completely in the dark at every stage of the process. They then refused to send a bill to my insurance, and subsequently lied about how long they had the car for, causing months more worth of headaches when I tried to get reimbursed. An absolute nightmare start to finish, you should avoid them like the plague. --- Long version: These people are absolute crooks who lied at every stage of the way about pretty much everything, including: when the car would be ready, what work they were going to do, if they were going to send an estimate of the repairs, if the car was safe to drive, how long the kept the car for, etc. Whenever I asked to talk to the estimator, they would say he was on lunch, regardless of the time of day (this seems to be a consistent theme with other reviewers as well). It quickly became clear that they would not do any work on the car unless I called to ask about the progress, after which they would actually start to look at it. When they initially said the repairs were done and gave me the car back, they had not repaired any of the internal damage (or even done an assessment for internal damage!) - they literally slapped a new bumper on the outside and handed me the keys without even doing a test drive. As soon as I turned the car on, it told me that the stabilization was broken, which was the exact issue I brought the car in for. Read the other reviews and you will see that much of what I've written here is a consistent pattern with them. They play games, beat around the bush, and never give you a straight answer. They are also willing to lie to insurance (e.g., about the date when you picked up your car), which is appalling. I would not wish them on my worst enemy. read more

Do NOT waste your time here! It appears I'm not the only one that have wasted my time with this business' lack of communication with their customers. Fortunately I didn't waste my time getting my vehicle repaired here (based on other Yelpers' reviews), but instead this is my experience dealing with their estimator and multiple unreturned messages that I left with their business. On a Tuesday 2/28 I called to set an appointment to get an estimate after a fallen tree struck my vehicle. The person told me that I can just do a walk-in tomorrow. I asked when the latest time for me to come in, and he told me anytime before 4pm, since that's the time the estimator gets off work. I asked if 3:30pm was okay, and he told me "Yes". So the next day on Wednesday 3/1, I took time off work early, to get there around 3:15pm. When I arrived and spoke to the receptionist, she told me that the estimator is on his lunch break. I asked when he would return and she told me that she's not sure. I told her that I can wait, but she couldn't confirm that he would be back. I explained to her that I was told yesterday that I could arrive anytime before 4pm, and that I had to take time off work to be here. She mentioned that he can be back in about half an hour, but asked that I can just send them photos. Based on the reflections, it's really hard to see all the scratches in a photo, so I told her that I can wait. By the time the estimator arrived, he looked annoyed, disinterested and barely spoke. When he inspected my vehicle, it was extremely quick as he just took some photos. When he wrote down my information, all he requested was my email address and told me that I will get an estimate via email in one business day. I told him that will be fine, as I needed to submit a claim and was hoping to send that claim with their estimate either on Friday 3/3 or Monday 3/6. The whole day Thursday 3/2 came and went by, and I received no emails. I even checked my spam/junk folder, and received nothing. On Friday 3/3 late afternoon I called their office. I mentioned to them that I was told that I would be receiving the estimate in 1-business day, and I still did not receive it yet. He jolted down my info and told me that they will contact the Estimator. The entire Friday came and went by with no emails. By Monday 3/6 afternoon, I called again and gave them the same story. This time, the person didn't even asked for my info. He just told me that they will contact the Estimator. It really felt like they were disinterested in helping, and was just trying to get off the phone asap. I seriously doubt that they would contact the Estimator, nor would I ever receive an estimate from them. Surely enough it has been 2-weeks later (3/15), and I still have NOT received an estimate from them! They clearly don't care about working with customers. Avoid this place at all cost, so that you don't waste any of your time dealing with them. There are plenty of other auto repair businesses that you can go to. Go to a business that will actually care to respond to your messages and phone calls. read more

I had a collision with a patio chair driving 70 on the freeway and it dented my fender pretty badly. I had my car checked out by many shops for estimate, but Fremont Collision Center had the most reasonable bid. Fernando was very quick to quote me through online photos, and was able to accommodate my schedule when I can drop my car off. For the repair, they quoted me 1 week and promptly finished on time and on budget. The repair was impeccable and I couldn't even tell my car had been damaged before. The BONUS is the shop opens on Saturday for 1/2 day, whereas most of all other shops only open M-F. Being open on a Saturday makes picking up car waaay more convenient and flexible. Very bad experience. "Free" evaluation is not free after all. I paid $300 to get them to check my car, talk to the insurance, have us wait for a whole month, and then tell me we probably need to pay out of pocket to fix the bumper- which would be the quickest way if we don't want to wait anymore... This whole communication is a joke, and we laughed and paid this "standard" $300 fee to have them put the parts back so we can drive our car as a whole without the parts falling out. Nice job to run a business just checking the car and asking for money. Since we only had this one vehicle, we had to pay Uber and BART to get around. That is another few hundred bucks. After i got it back, i had constant issues with the suspension. When i took it back to them to address the issue, they sent me across the street and were going back and forth on who was going to fix it because they didnt know who was going to be paid. I finally took my car to another shop where they inspected it and found out that they left a cracked control arm, missing hardware, and a bent unibody, now my car is being totaled out when this could have been avoided since the start. My Tesla was scratched on the side. Since it is a Tesla, I was very careful to search for a place that know how to fix it. We found that Fremont Collision Center did repairs too. I used this business for my Sienna and my mini before, so I have a good feeling about. But since this is a Tesla, so I want to be very certain this is the right place for this repair. Upon arrival, I saw there were a few Tesla in the parking lot, so I know they have experience. Great. We did have to wait for the estimator to come back though we make an appointment. To be honest it is small shop, the estimator went to pick up a car, there is no one else to do it. No problem we are not in a hurry, we waited for about 20 mins in the sitting area, and the estimator came back. Once he was back things roll smoothly. We have no problem communicating with the shop, and they are responsive to us. Got our car back the day they promised. The car was fixed beautifully and looked new. We were very happy and satisfied. I got into a fender bender in July 2019 and took my car here. It's been about 2 years now and I noticed that they replaced my front kidney grille with knock-off parts. They bought a cheap front kidney grille and wrapped it with black plastic to make it look original. Well,l now I have a nice BMW with a crappy front kidney grille. When I called for them to fix it they said only the paint has warranty. If you are looking for an ethical body shop to work on your car, do yourself a favor and don't come here. My insurance paid out $5K+ for the fixes and for them to take a short cut on a part that's under $100 is not right. If they screwed me with that part, I bet they have done it to many other customers. Overall don't give your business to this shop. I never got the same answer from the service team when I asked for an updated status of when I could bring my car in. One person told me "I can't tell you" & when I asked to speak to someone else said there was no one else there. It took them 2 days to track down where the glass for my window replacement was & when it would be delivered. Outcome: The worst repair shop I've been to. In the beginning, FCC seemed very professional and efficient. I took my car here because it was a Geico partner and had an immediate next-day availability for me to drop off my car after having been in an accident. They quoted me two weeks of repair time and was enrolled in automated text messages for my car updates. These text messages indicated that my car was on track and would be ready for pickup on the quoted date. I heard nothing from the shop after the two weeks had passed so I called in only to find that the door was back-ordered for an additional 7-10 days. No one had informed me until I called. I think it was Marty? asked if I would be open to a used door. I let him know that I'm open as long as it's in excellent condition (obviously). He told me he'll let me know what they decide in terms of the door. I never heard anything back. Fast forward close to two weeks, I received a call from the rental that my reservation was expiring so I again had to call the shop to find out when my car would be ready. I was told that Friday so Friday came.... No calls or updates. By 2 pm, I called to ask if my car was ready and luckily it was indeed but again, no one bothered to let me know. What is the point of these text updates if they're not actually up to date? I picked up my car but as I was driving, I noticed there was something wrong with the driver-side mirror. Everything was distorted and seemed magnified to me. I positioned my mirror where I normally would and it was super off. It looked different from the right-side mirror. I asked my friend if she could see it and she could. So I called in and tried to explain the issue. I think it was Marty again on the phone and he sounded confused so he told me to bring the car by so they could take a look. I came by and I believe it was the mechanic who was asked to take a look. The AUDACITY of this man to look me in the eyes and tell me BOTH mirrors looked the same to him and that there was nothing wrong. I told him to look at both mirrors because there's clearly a problem with the driver-side mirror. He said mirrors can't be magnified because it's a piece of glass and again there's nothing wrong. He did note the distortion in that mirror but told me it was due to the TINT from my window. I asked if this was the same window I had pre-accident. It indeed was. I said I didn't have any issues with my tint previously so why would there be a distortion. He informed me there's nothing he can do because he sees no issues and to take my car to the VW dealership and see if they can do anything. The entire time, he looked at me like I was crazy as if I made up this distortion in my head. I asked TWO additional friends if they see the distortion. One even ROLLED down the window after I told them about the tint comment. The distortion was STILL PRESENT with the window rolled down. So I took my car to another repair shop for a second opinion and was confirmed, AGAIN, that there is an issue with the mirror and it is indeed distorted. I'm not sure why ONLY this repair person at FCC couldn't see the distortion but clearly, everyone else could so I feel like he just didn't want to help me and felt justified to treat me like an idiot female who must know nothing about cars. I received an email about the "Geico Guarantee" that if there are any issues with my car pertaining to what they fixed, FCC would be able to fix the issue for free. That clearly is FALSE because I tried to have them fix my issue and was shooed away with the look of disgust on their face. If you want a fast repair with an honest team who actually cares about your issues, don't come here. Go elsewhere. I for sure will NEVER bring my car back here. read more

Where do I even start? They give you text updates that the car is going to be ready on the estimated time. DO NOT RELY ON THAT. DO NOT TRUST THAT. My car was supposed to be due back to me on 3/4/22. 1 day before the pick up date, I asked if my car was going to be ready and they said no because of a car part that is still in transit. I gave them a week, I asked if there's an update and they said no the part was still in transit. I gave them another week, I called again and they finally said they will re-order the parts since it doesn't look like it's going to be delivered. I called 4 days later to ask if there's an update on when the part was going to be delivered and they said no and they will need to re-order, I said no..someone told me last Friday that they will reorder it then and the person on the phone said the other person didn't order and they will just re-order it (this was on 3/22/22). This week (4/8)..I called on Tuesday to see when my car will be ready, they gave said Friday. I called Thursday to ask if my car will be ready tomorrow, they gave me a runaround as to why it will be ready on Saturday instead of Friday. It's now Saturday and I called this morning, they have another excuse as to why the car might not be ready today. Their supervisor is off and they have to ask if the car has been calibrated (which they said they were going to do on Thursday). also, the car is supposedly in detail right now..that does not take a whole day! At this point, I'm close to asking my husband to sit at their shop and watch them work on my car. If you can choose another shop for your car, DO THAT! Don't waste your time here. They're polite on the phone but they just give you a bunch of excuses! read more

I did some research prior to choosing Fremont Collision Center. There were a few 1 star reviews where some customers were not happy with the job that was done to thier vehicle. I am not one of those reviews. When I walked in at 0745am on a Tuesday morning, I was surprised to see that the adjusters, the rental agent, and Geico agent were all available to start the repair process. While the adjuster was busy with another client, the receptionist was able to get me started with the necessary paperwork. As she began to go over the necessary documents, I quietly observed the area for organization and cleanliness. While the customer area was clean of any debris or mess, the receptionist desk was very disorganized with client folders and paperwork spread across it's surface. Miscellaneous car body parts were visible that had no storage location. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. She then sent me over to the rental car agent. The rental car agent is not on site at the collision center all the time. But, he was nice took all of my information, and he walked me through inspecting the rental vehicle. That process was done in 15 minutes. When the adjuster was available, he walked me through the process of inspecting the damage. He also explained what are the next steps in the repair process, and made sure the contact info was readily available for both himself and the shop. As repairs were underway, Geico and the shop sent me daily updates on my vehicle status. I had to view the updates on the Geico website but it was well informed on the progress. The shop did have a delay in the repair progress because they tried to use an aftermarket parts to replace the damage part. The aftermarket bumper did not fit well to the vehicle so they had to go to the Mazda factory to get one expedited. I know they were trying to save a few bucks by using aftermarket parts, but they should have the customer choose which part to use. I was informed of this issue so they gave me a new completion date, and also extended my rental car service. When I picked up my vehicle it was washed, vacuumed, and cleaned at my convenience. When I called about my car making shaky noice they had an aggressive voice like they were going to yell at me and they said you have a maintenance issue.
