My family and I have been a long time patient with Dr. Brian Gin at Fremont optometric Group. We consult Dr. Gin on our daughter's myopia management and after these many years of treatment her eyesight is very stable. Dr. Gin is very thorough with all the eye checkups, and patiently answers all our questions. After more than 8 years being their patient I can say they are very trustworthy and friendly professionals. That's why, even though we moved from Fremont to Danville 6 years back, we still visit Dr. Gin for our annual eye checkups. Last July when I was on a family vacation at Hawaii, I accidentally hurt my eyes resulting in a terrible clot. My husband immediately emailed Dr. Gin and he was kind enough to respond and guide us on the issue till it was under control, and followed up on the same. He always has time for his patients and that's one doctor I would absolutely trust and highly recommend. All office staffs are friendly as well. Switched here about 3 years back and it's been a really good experience! Dr. Brian Gin is a great doctor. He's really helpful and definitely knows his stuff. The whole process here is pretty much flawless, even with COVID-19. The past few years, they mail a little postcard when it's about your time of the year for a check up. Scheduling is simple and can be done online or over the phone. If done online, they normally follow up with you to confirm the appointment. For COVID, they do temp checks at the door. You have to have an appointment and text a number to let them know you are there as well. The rest of the staff are really helpful, especially with any questions in regards to insurance or what it covers. They have also helped me pick out a couple pairs of glasses before as well! My first time here and I have to say, the staff is pretty amazing. I walked in and it was beautiful. I'm not sure what it was but I've been to other optometrist offices and they're not as... up to date? But I had the pleasure of meeting Marina, she's a tech, and very sweet, welcoming & professional. She's also a Star Wars fan so that's also a plus! I've never had my eyes dilated, and I was nervous since my appt was at 6pm, but they have newer technology to where dilation isn't needed AT ALL. My doctor was informative and calmed my nerves with my 10000 questions. Nway helped me picked my frames & I found ones that I've been looking for, FOREVER! & Front desk was also super nice. I want to acknowledge our recent experience when got my 10 year old child contact lens. Whole experience was really good, we see Dr Brian Gin for few years now, he is amazing and for getting contact lens he made the process easy and helpful. My child was anxious and scared but he really handled everything well with initial process and follow up questions. Another very helpful staff was Ms. Maira Moreno, she is so sweet and friendly. My first time at this office was great! Checking in was very easy. Purchasing sunglasses here was a very fast process. Glasses arrived within 1-2 weeks. Ordering contacts from their online ordering site is very convenient after Maira went over the process I can order contacts from home at any time. Really solid practice for your eye care, glasses, and contacts. Been here for 3+ years and have yet to have a subpar experience (as a lifelong glasses wearer, I've had plenty bad experiences at other shops). Always professional and courteous. Especially impressed by the staff as that's a bucket I've seen the most variability in service level. I had a very poor experience with one of their employees and sent an email about it via their website. I was told the emails go to the Office Manager, and I never got a reply or an acknowledgment. Here's the email . . . Dear Sir or Madam: Your receptionists and medical staff have always shown outstanding customer service, but I've never cared for your salespeople. I was at Fremont Optometric Group recently, and Emily was especially rude and disrespectful. When I met her, Emily didn't greet me or introduce herself or anything. Right off the bat, she started talking about my insurance to see what coverage I had. Emily kind of yelled at me for putting frames back on the rack and complained about cleaning them. She never politely asked me for anything or said "please" or "thank you ." After she was done with me, she rudely told me, "Go take a seat." Emily needs to learn some manners and requires training in customer service. I don't want to interact with her ever again. If necessary, I can easily go somewhere else in the future for eye care services. --- It's been over a week, and I still haven't gotten any response from Fremont Optometric Group. Was referred here by my former O.D. that I can no longer see and am writing this having finished my first appointment. This place is great, much larger inside than it seems from outside and just very modern looking. Front desk staff was all friendly and helped me graciously even though I accidentally texted them to cancel my appointment, thinking they were another clinic I was inquiring about services with. We all had a good laugh about it. Marina got me through my intake screening, again super friendly, thorough, and had sweet tats. She humored my little bit of banter and just added to the friendly vibes I was already getting from this place. Dr. Gin was who I was assigned to and I had an absolute blast talking to him. He was able to address some concerns I had shared with him from my previous D.O.'s observations but also had great side conversations about other topics as well. Emily helped me out with my insurance benefits and selecting my glasses. This place was much more thorough since there's quite a bit more customization than I'm used to. I've been coming to this place ever since I was 4 years old, and I would not trust my eyes with anyone else. All the optometrists there are really great, but I really loved Dr. Sakihara the best. I really felt like she really takes her time doing all these different tests (and I have my eye exam every year) and this was a first! She also stressed the importance of using an Amsler grid daily to see if there were any changes to my vision. One of the techs, Marina was great too, very personable and great at giving instruction with the eye tests and retinal photos. The last tech I had, I had to do multiple takes in my photos as she was always catching my eyelashes in there, so you can imagine how frustrating it is to keep your eyes wide open multiple times to get the best shot. read more

I have been coming here for years and always enjoy the friendly staff. Today in particular, Marina, who took me back to test my eye pressure and take a picture of my eyes, was friendly and very communicative. She let me know what she was going to do next and where I should sit and where I could place my purse, and that the machine had been wiped clean. It was such a pleasure to return here. There's no question that you've walked into a State of the Art facility. EVERYONE was knowledgeable about her/his job. From the insurance guru at the front desk, to Thuy (not sure what her title is) taking pictures of my eyes and testing for peripheral vision, to Dr. Leong for catching near and far vision issues, however slight and finally to Michelle at Optical Sales for having an eye at what might look good on a face and what specials there are based on the type of insurance you have. I felt well cared for at this optometrist's office. The only negative occurred before my appointment date. I tried for a few days to book an appointment - first online then via telephone. They were closed during the time that the message stated they should be open. Online was just an issue with them calling me back versus them just picking one of the dates/times I selected. But this was not enough to effect my rating. They have a large selection of name brand frames (Prada, Kate Spade, etc) and generic ones. I have been coming to this place for years, my wife and now my children all also use the services offered at this office. Marina is amazing, she took all of us (3 in total today) all at once and got us through the eye tests prior to our doctors visit. She was knowledgeable and extremely helpful with the questions that my kids had along with the few that I also fielded! Dr Gin has been my optometrist for years and is really professional and friendly. Ever since the new remodel of the space, the office is really clean and welcoming, even with cute decorations based on the season and holiday (example some neat Halloween themed decor!) The staff are also super attentive and put you at ease. The testing room for checkup is always really well maintained, and the technicians are all really helpful and excellent at their job.
