Done in just 15 minutes. Employees are nice. Didn't have to wait at all to get seen. We'll definitely be back. Right across from a park. My dad and I just walked around the park and when we came back, the smog test was done. It can be easy to miss driving by, but just look out for Autotek Services and it's in the back of that parking lot. We'll definitely be back. read more

I needed a Star Smog check for my 2011 Honda Accord registration. Since I showed up on a busy day, I had to wait about 25 minutes behind a couple of other cars. To my surprise, my car actually failed the inspection! This was quite a shock because I had just taken it to an auto shop in Union City for maintenance beforehand (a whole other story). Brian, the technician who handled the smog check, explained that my air intake hose was cracked due to old age. Even though it failed and I paid for the service, Brian let me know I had 90 days to replace the part and return for a free retest. I got the hose replaced the very next day and brought the car right back. The second round was super fast, taking only 10 to 15 minutes, and Brian confirmed that it passed! I just had to pay an additional $8 CA fee. Overall, the service was incredibly fast, the customer service was fantastic, and the price was a super affordable $51 for the smog check. While prices might vary depending on your vehicle, that's an absolute steal for the Bay Area! read more

in n out services for a quick smog check to send over to DMV. These guys are super quick and super affordable. I think I was not here for no longer than 20 mins.... with the exception of one person who got there before I did. They scan the paper work, send the info to DMV and let you know when it should be reflected in their system so that you can pay your registration. they are super nice and my dad recommended them and I love them. Reliable, quick, good value, and excellent service. You need a smog test (STAR certified)? Come to Fremont Smog Test Only in central Fremont! I've come here for the last few years and every visit has been the same quality of service, nothing short of excellent! Oftentimes, there's not much of a wait - maybe 15-20 minutes - for the whole service to be completed. When you arrive, just pull up if there is space or back up into a parking spot if they're currently full. Seek out the staff (typically I've seen one individual managing the operation but this most recent visit, I was greeted and helped by a team of two) and leave your keys with them for them to conduct the test. They'll look up your documentation via the vehicle identification number on your vehicle and send the results directly to the DMV for processing. They make the whole process really simple! There's a waiting area with a few seats and some outdated magazines but you'll likely not need them as the wait isn't long at all. Once completed, you'll be prompted to complete any paperwork and payment (credit card and cash accepted). The location is great for midday errands or lunch breaks as it's close to a lot of great eateries just blocks away. There are also a few back roads that can be taken in case there's traffic or construction on the main roads. The lot can be a bit tight to get into and out of but the flow of traffic is one way so there's still plenty of space to navigate through. Overall, if you're just trying to get your smog test done with little hassle, consistent level of service, and transparent pricing, this is the place for you. read more

I thought it was going to take awhile and might have to come back but I was greeted as I was walking up and they took my paperwork and told me there are a couple of cars ahead of me but it wouldn't be too long. Super fast and friendly. Great customer service. My car failed the smog test and the guy (so sorry i forgot his name) explained what why the car didn't pass. What I appreciated more is that he didn't mansplain it which was great!!! He then referred me to an auto shop here in Fremont and also told me what to do after the car was fixed. I told him I was going to forget so he wrote it down for me which i appreciated. I honestly forgot how much I was charged but I can remember it was not expensive. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend this business. read more

I brought my white Audi Q5 in for heavy water spots/etching on the hood and front panels. The owner, Perry, personally inspected the car with me before starting. He walked me through what the process would involve and initially quoted just over $500. After I mentioned that was a bit outside my budget, he adjusted the price to $450 and explained clearly why he couldn't go lower given the labor involved. No pressure, just transparency. I dropped the car off at 8:15 AM and it was completed around 1 PM. When I returned, Perry again personally inspected the vehicle with me and showed me the results. The paint looks dramatically better -- smooth, uniform, and restored. The heavy spotting is gone and the finish has great clarity. What really impressed me was the integrity beyond the paint correction. Perry noticed uneven wear on my front right tire. Instead of trying to sell me new tires, he explained tire rotation intervals (about every 5,000 miles) and recommended simply swapping the rear right to the front right for now. Given that I replaced all four tires at the same time a few years ago, his recommendation made sense. They completed the swap in about 15 minutes for $39.99. No upselling. No scare tactics. Just practical advice. Overall, I left feeling that I was treated fairly, educated properly, and given honest service. That combination is rare. Highly recommend.

I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

This is my go-to place for smog checks. Very friendly & quick service. No appointment needed either. The owner even took the time to give a warning about catalytic converter theft in the area, explaining my car was higher-risk due to where the catalytic converter is located on the car. He recommended getting a guard plate installed, and pointed me to Amazon as a place where do-it-yourself kits could be purchased. This smog shop gets you in and out fast. I oftentimes don't have the time during the weekday, so I appreciate the weekend hours. Updated review. This place is fishy…read more I paid for a smog check here last year (2024) as requested by the DMV and subsequently wrote the previous review. I was repeatedly informed by "Fremont quick smog" that the completed smog check passed and will be automatically transmitted to the DMV. This year, 2025, DMV is requesting yet another smog check. I called DMV seven times today and spoke to 4 individuals (with 3 calls dropped). The 3rd individual said "uhh no you did your smog in 2023 and your vehicle requires a smog check every 3 years." I drive a 2016 SUV. Go elsewhere for a smog check. Massive headache, tremendous amount of time wasted, and money wasted. Totally not worth the potential trouble.

He wouldn't listen to what I was telling him all he saw was 2 black men in a car and didn't even want to do the work. He even stepped back away from me when I tried to show him the paperwork from the previous smog place I went to, he just kept telling me it wouldn't pass and he didn't even want to do it. Needless to say I went down the street to Union City Smog Check on Mission and had my tags 45 minutes later. The owner here at Quik Smog is a racist old Asian man and I do not recommend any people of color look to be serviced here.

Cars were parked sideways and lengthwise near the single driveway into the smog bay. While I waited we had to maneuver our cars to let the 'next' car in line through. Really no direction and you just wait until you are acknowledged and hope for the best. Waited for about 30 mins for my turn. Other than the arrival uneasiness, once it's your turn everything went smoothly and I got what I came to do.

I'm leaving this review to share my experience so others can make an informed decision…read more I brought my Acura MDX in for a smog check and was told it failed due to rear oxygen sensors having spacers. I was advised the issue would need to be fixed before it could pass. Something didn't sit right with me, so I sought a second opinion. I had the vehicle visually inspected by a knowledgeable friend and then took it to my regular smog technician. Neither could find the spacers that were supposedly present. My regular smog shop ran the vehicle through the machine and it passed immediately with no issues. In addition, I was uncomfortable with a comment made suggesting I should have a "husband" handle the situation for me. That felt unnecessary and unprofessional. I'm grateful I trusted my gut and got a second opinion, as it saved me a lot of stress and an unnecessary long drive. I recommend others do the same if something doesn't feel right.

Important note: There were two gentlemen, one very elderly and one older but not nearly as old as the other. One gave excellent service(the younger of the two), the other not so much, but he was really old so I don't take it personal and give him a pass for being elderly. I would highly recommend you only proceed with service if the younger one is there and you can communicate with him. The elder gentlemen was not as friendly or professional, and did not want to honor my $10 off coupon, so total came to $90 for my 2009 ML320 mid size SUV. I'm not the type to argue or cause problems so I kindly asked the elder gentlemen, it was hard to understand his exact words but he was definitely not happy about it and was refusing saying something to the effect of "we don't take phone", even after I showed him the address and name of establishment that clearly offered the discount. I let it go, and when the younger gentleman came back by I politely asked and showed him, he happily wanted to honor it, and was very kind and professional about it, but it was too late and THe elderly had already run the card. The younger one apologized about the inconvenience and offered to honor it next time. He had great customer service. I understand how it is with elders, they can be set in their ways and grumpy at times so I honestly don't take it personal and give him a pass, but if it weren't for the other gentlemen and his kindness, professionalism and service, I wouldn't not be back. I'll make sure next time I see who's there before taking my car for service.
