I was recommended to Frenchy's by a former coworker and have been coming here for almost 3 years now. Natalie is great, and always does a beautiful job on my hair. I keep it pretty basic and usually just get trims when my hair is long, but I've also had her cut it short for me. It always looks great and I'm always satisfied. Money is a little tight for me right now, so coming here is an expense that I have to really plan for, but I wouldn't go anywhere else--even if it would be less expensive. I tried that once and ended up crawling back to Natalie in TEARS over the damage that had been done by another salon. She fixed me right up. Grateful for Frenchy's and Natalie. After over a decade I'm still so in love with Frenchy's. The staff are all wonderful. Recently went in to dye my hair blue and everyone was so supportive and let me and my stylist Sarah know how awesome it was coming along. Sarah was careful with the process and went far beyond my expectations! Everyone wore their masks, plus the stylists have space between the stations so you aren't sitting directly by another person. The wash station has a little barrier between the bowls and the areas are constantly sanitized. I felt safe the whole time! read more

Came to a consultation. Decided to proceed with a plan discussed, which is highlighting and root touch up. Was informed that will be charged hourly. Made an appointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then received a call from the same hairstylist stating she is not available and i can be seen by her colleague.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But i need to send her my hair pix and it probably might take little longer for her to work on me. Initially we came to a decision that my whole process will take around 3-3.5 hours which in my opinion is way enough ( my hair is shoulder length and was bleached before). I have been going to this place for years however I want to write another review ! Grace is amazing because she will ask you what you want and the end result is always what I want! I feel so bad because I went to a different salon in cheated on her! The worst thing I can do! I told the guy I want caramel hair and I ended up with Ashley Eric and then he told my hair and I ended up with dark hair which I hate! She gave me the best advice and told me to wash my hair with Palmolive dish washer soap! I also washed it with conditioner and lemons! I lightened it as best I can. Guess what my hair was still so ashy! She is the best because she's always honest and tells you how it is! She said she will put toner in but he might not get rid of the Ash! Guess what she is magical because she put on a certain toner in my hair is back to the beautiful color! She also had me purchase a conditioner that supposed to add golden tint to my hair and get rid of the ash that's left! Moral of the story is don't cheat on your hairstylist if she is amazing! She is the best color corrector there is so go to her if your hair turned out the way you didn't want it to be! read more

I had first found Jules when she had Marigold Salon up in Newhall, I had gone there to get my brows done and really loved the vibe of the salon so I decided to get my hair cut there too. From the first moment I was hooked, she just gets me. We all know how important that is in a hairdresser- to have someone who just gets you and who can take your ideas and translate them into here and now - so when Jules moved from Newhall to Burbank my mother and I religiously followed. Frenchy's has a similar vibe to Marigold, although I must say I miss the Virgin Mary/Davey Havok poster that once hung on the Newhall based salons walls. Just as Marigold had an amazing and tight knit staff Frenchies has the same, and stepping through the doors here feels less like stepping into a business and more like stepping into a friend's house each time I go. The coffee is warm, but the conversations shared amongst these walls are warmer. Now onto the important stuff when it comes to a hairdresser....hair! Jules always managed to take what I want - sometimes a structured "a line bob with bangs" - and sometimes a more general "ehhh, you know my style just make me look pretty". Either way I always end up leaving looking and feeling a million times better than when I went in. Our current project is growing my hair out from a shorter cut, and adding bl once ombre to a once red head - something that takes stages but even my initial blondish-but-not-quite-there-yet stage had me leaving the salon feeling renewed and refreshed. My next appointment is this weekend and I'm ready to take it to the next level :) read more

I usually do funky things with my hair, and I have enough pigment at home to last forever. I just wanted a basic bleaching, and while I have bleached my own hair before, I knew there might be consequences if I attempted to do it this round. I wanted a small chunk of hair (bangs area) bleached down to the roots. I also try to be efficient as possible when making odd requests like this. I went in with my hair already partitioned out for what I wanted bleached. Vanessa listened and was great about the process. She checked in on me often and was super friendly. The old color lifted beautifully, and I'm one happy customer. It ended up being $100 for the bleaching and then I added tip onto that, so a bit pricier than expected, but gotta take that hit for a professional job. read more

I really like coming here. I've had 3 appointments (two haircuts and a bang trim), and all of them have been great. Megan is wonderful (so kind, a great listener, and gives me the haircuts I ask for -- I always take photos with of what I'd like, and she makes it happen in a way to suit me). When you lose your hair stylist I've been going to Frenchies for a while and in my previous reviews you can see how happy I was with them. I still feel they are awesome people but I guess it is time to say goodbye. When a client does not get what she wanted I feel both client and stylist feelings get hurt. One for a sense of betrayal and the other for her work pride. In any case I went a couple of weeks ago for a balayage and a hair cut. I always remind them I have a lot of hair and I need extra time. The two issues were: I did not get what I asked for and there was no time enough. I asked for a blonde balayage and I show pictures of the work done on me by my stylist (same person) before. It was a light blonde balayage. I got caramel highlights. Which is unfortunate cause I hate caramel color on me and I hate highlights. Plus they require much more maintenance. When I saw the foil technique, my stylist said she was mixing them and I trusted her and it did not work. Please see picture attached. There is no balayage only fool highlights. The other issue was that since it was not the color that I wanted she had to put the toner twice and an assistant ended up styling half of my hair. Paying an stylist to get the style made by the assistant doesn't seem right. My stylist said she knew how to do it but when the time came she did not... and I was not happy with that neither. The solution: they booked me to come back in two weeks to get it fixed. The day before the appointment I called cause seeing the time they close and the time I got the booking for I was getting anxious of not having time enough. I was wearing caramel highlights for two weeks in a ponytail cause I don't like them. However they said they would only do a root blend and that would help with the roots but would not fix the fact that I did not get a balayage. I did not get what I asked for. So they said either book more time and pay extra for the extra work. To which I disagree cause I would not pay extra for a full fix. Not have a half fix complimentary. So they refunded me a little less than half of the total spent including the tip (which I tipped as usual 20%). I spent $408.00 total including tip. I was refunded $200.00 Now when I am trying to get it as I wanted it is not a balayage anymore. It is a color correction! And I need to pay $450.00 plus tip. So thank you for offering something back but it does not cover the fix. Nor the price of a balayage that was not done to me. In the end the cuts are good, and if you like these highlights you are in the right place. But don't go for a balayage. read more

I went to Frenchy's for the first time.. I love the place and the service! Rosie helped me in my goal to donate my hair (which I did!) to Children with Hair Loss. She carefully tied segments of my hair into ponytails and made sure they reached the 8" minimum needed for donation.. I'm so thankful to her that I was able to have that done. I always have such a wonderful experience at this salon and my stylist, Natalie always leaves me looking so beautiful. Their stylists are also very knowledgeable about hair color care, and I love that they do not push products on you. If a stylist uses a product on your hair, and you like it and want to buy it, they will not push you into buying it and I think that's great! The staff at the salon is always so warm and friendly. The stylists are also very skilled in doing a variety of hairstyles from present day to the classics. The atomosphere is inviting and I really dig the vintage aesthetic. I am so happy I stumbled upon Frenchy's Beauty Parlor as it had been a good 7 or 8 years since I last had a decent haircut/style/color done to my hair. Rosie was amazing!! Despite having thin curly and hard to work with hair, she made it happen with what I had, to match the reference photo as much as she could. My hair can be kind of challenging but she took the time to explain exactly what she was cutting and why she was doing it in a specific manner so we could achieve the results I wanted.
