Not as painstakingly plated as the demonstrative menu pictures, but all the listed ingredients were in there and tasted great. First bite I chose a nice chunk of pulled pork to see what I was in for, and it proved perfectly soft and well seasoned. Dressing had a little more kick than I expected--which is probably a silly thing to say when I didn't even bother checking what dressing came with the bowl, but together with the jalapeños it was a good complimentary level of heat. Ate the [famous name brand cereal] bar afterwards with a glass of milk and it was everything I hoped. Brown butter and sea salt proved a good variation on a nostalgic treat. After the tenth time of me going there, I asked a server if they've ever gotten negative feedback because I cannot imagine why anyone would have a bad experience at Fresco. She was transparent by saying no, other than a specific subclass of older folk (no offense) who can not taste things as well as they used to. But she has an easy solution, which is for extra salt, paper, spices, and/or sauces they have available. We were looking for a healthy option in San Marcos. It seems like most options are pretty heavy and unhealthy. We passed by Fresco and were curious by the title so we looked it up on yelp. All the reviews were great so we were excited to try it. Absolutely love the flavor explosions of so much stuff going on, so many flavors. We were only in the area for a limited time but as soon as we found this place we came three days in a row. The tofu and the brussels sprouts are probably some of my favorite choices. They have some great options that are already designed but our favorite was the build your own. The fresh Fresca juices were amazing. They were definitely a highlight to the meal. First, the staff were incredibly friendly & all smiles... Fresco has a big restaurant feel, but is absolutely a small business owned by two co-owners who are active partners in the day-to-day operations. This is something that is hard to find in current day society. We cannot rave enough about Fresco, the only way it could be better is if they open a location in Kyle! :D We have gone probably around 15 times and we will continue to do so. Okay fresco I see you w your good tofu. This is a perfect lunch place to hit up after the gym, I got this amazing $10 bowl. Everything was really fresh and the flavors were so good! Typically restaurants struggle with the tofu prep but they nailed it. "Health" places also tend to struggle with the flavor and make sauces way too sweet etc the tofu is a lil sweet but overall good balance. The avocado yogurt ranch is so tasty with the hot sauce :) I ordered it online and immediately drove there, and it was waiting for me on the pick up shelf like 7 minutes after I placed the order.
