This is well out of the way from the town centre - and to be honest - probably not worth the drive…read moreout when theres Morrisons and Asda at the other ends of the town. The building looks shabby, store inside not much better. The only good things about this shop are the usual tesco bargains and friendly staff. Handy if you live near the Glasgow road since its the only shop around - even for basics, but apart from that you'd be better driving through to one of the other supermarkets in town.

A supermarket review is not something that I would normally consider writing, as I usually see…read moreshopping as a chore to be endured and not enjoyed. However, the revamped Morrisons Partick store has transformed the usual boring shopping experience into a game of 'guess what this is used for' in their fruit and vegetable section. I have never heard of some of the exotic items they now have in stock, and have even less of an idea what to do with them; but it certainly makes for an interesting shopping experience! We've shopped here for many years, way before Waitrose, M&S and Tescos moved into Byres Road, or Sainsburys into Crow Road. Morrisons has always been the best value of anywhere around, even if their selection of goods in the old store was clearly geared to the - how shall I put it - somewhat unimaginative dietary requirements of the local populace? In part this was due to lack of space, but for years after it originally opened it was difficult to find much food suitable for vegetarians and those on restricted diets. For a while it was overshadowed by the flashy new Waitrose at the top of Byres Road, and there has been the ever-present threat of a mega-Tescos opening right across the road from Morrisons on the site of the old Partick Central Station. Now however - following their purchase of the adjacent video store and haberdashery outlet, they now own the entire block and have doubled in size. The new-look store feels much roomier than it used to be, and the range of exotic international foods is hugely impressive, particularly in the vast fruit and veg section at the entrance. Presumably this reflects the increasingly ethnic population of Partick and environs, or possibly the location at Partick's transport hub brings in a lot of customers from farther afield by bus, subway or train. It is certainly the easiest supermarket in the area to get to by public transport. There is a new cafe as well; and although I haven't sampled that yet, it is conveniently placed for those waiting on a train or bus connection, or waiting for their taxi arriving to collect them with their shopping - a relatively common sight at this Morrisons. I'm fascinated by the green vegetable counter with its system of pipes wafting cold fog over the produce. I think this is the first time I've seen such a system in Scotland, although they are common in the States. You can't help but wonder how long they will continue to sell the more exotic fresh produce though, especially such rare delicacies as samphire at 16 quid per 100g. Let's make the most of it and enjoy it while it lasts.

Definitely a great place to get foods and the like. However the reason I went here, and the reason it gets 4 stars, is because they've done a really great thing. First-Hand Experience: After checking out the new Falkirk stadium, I came here to see what became of the old one, which is now a supermarket. I bought a few drinks here including an Irn Bru. The checkout girl was really nice (and very Scottish). This was in Fall (Autumn) of 2014. It's like any other Morrison's. A nice one, at that. I really appreciate what Morrison's have done here, though. After buying the land of the Falkirk Stadium, Brockville Park, and turning it into this store, they decided to keep the turnstile from the old stadium as a memorial. Which is really lovely for those who loved the club and for football fans in general. So well done to them, for giving fans an added reason to make the pilgrimage here.

this supermarket is normally quite quiet and i dont understand why. the car park is huge and…read morespacious, so you can always get parked. it has a post box inside the entrance which is handy, even if you miss the last collection of the day, you know your letter will be fine (wont be set on fire). this morrisons has a cafe just inside the main entrance too, everything is reasonably priced and it's always busy which is a good sign. groceries are on average slightly more expensive than asda but if you are like me and are not very specific about which brands you buy then you would normally leave the store better off because of the buy one get one free offers. on the whole a good supermarket. they also have a petrol station on your way out. it is always on par with the cheapest in the are, plus with their fuel card it makes it even more appealing, they swipe your card each time you fill up and after you have so many points you get a £5 voucher to spend in the supermarket.

Sainsbury's on Buchanan is one of the largest Sainsbury's Local stores, I've come across, located…read moreby the Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow city centre, it's a great central supermarket for most of what you need. I was impressed by the selection in the store, with a good selection of cooked meats and dairy products including milk and cheese, tending to go beyond the usual Sainsbury's Local offering. The store is open daily until 10 pm, which is an hour earlier than most Sainsbury's Local stores in England from Monday to Saturday, as of course England is restricted by Sunday Trading laws. I wasn't a fan of the checkout area, it seemed too big and a little confusing, but the Sainsbury's Smartshop app is handy to skip the checkout as you simply scan items as you walk around the store, pay on your phone and head out. The staff weren't overly friendly or helpful, but still, it's probably the best place for groceries in Glasgow city centre in a prime central location within the city.

For a city supermarket this has everything you need for that pop-in shop on your way home from work. There's a kiosk section with the usual magazines and tobacco products, as well as fridges full of lunch-time snacks. There's a decent bakery section, good fruit and veg, lots of easy-make dinner options and a good selection of booze for when you've had a particularly long day. Granted, Sainsbury's isn't the best value of the supermarket giants, but the bakery has discounts at the end of the day and it has a lot of its own-brand cereals, frozen foods and soups etc which are significantly cheaper than the big brand names. I usually pop in during the after work rush hour, but the long queues quickly disappear and you never have to wait very long for the self-service check-outs.

I find the security staff intimidating and rude I think one guy there has mummy issues and should really have counselling and not be taking his anger out on customers who do no wrong. The self service section is a joke as half of them have not been switched on and the one l used made me feel as if l just won the jackpot on a fruit machine in a pub, how can a shop justify paying a customer 62p change in 2p pieces. Ice cream that has been defrosted is being re frozen and sold again when l reported the issue to the duty manager he did nothing. Tesco sort yourselves out!

I have learned to be adventurous in this store, if it is not to your taste, then you won't have lost out on much. There is ample car parking and the store is easily accessible to the disabled. The staff are mostly nice although there is one girl who is quite rude. This would not put me off from shopping here though. It is a good idea to compare prices of branded goods in Lidl as it is not always cheapest for these. I like to browse in here as they have good offers on household items which changes from week to week. They have offered obscure items in the past such as kilts and horse riding equipment. It is worth a visit.

First huge improvement was a mezzanine floor offering up more space for clothing Then they decided to move more things around, new cafe and other branded stirs within the main building, opticians, travel agents etc The new lay out is a little more open and inviting around the fruit and veg. I love the self scanning system, gives you exactly how much you are spending, prompting you that the item you bough has a deal, then saving time going through checkouts! No more "unexpected item in the bagging area" I only wish I lived closer to this store

One of the biggest Tesco's I have ever been in, for sure…read more It has all that you would expect from a Tesco, including a really good bakery and meat counter. It's big enough to offer a lot of variety, with a good range of toiletries and as always, good promotions. They also have a really good upstairs with clothing and electrical goods where I picked up a cheap blender that has made my kitchen look a bit more elegant. There's also a cafe upstairs which is actually quite decent, well priced, and saved my life when I went last week because I somehow forgot to eat dinner and found myself feeling faint walking around the shop for half an hour. Open 24 hours as well.

This is largely down to the friendliness of the staff, who are more than happy to help you negotiate what is actually a deceptively wide range of stock. As always, it's hard to argue with what M&S have to offer - the food is good and the seasonal ranges are always well thought out and interesting. It does, of course, cost a few bob extra, but somehow I don't think the locals in Milngavie who shop here will worry too much about that.
