Very happy with the work that Alvaro did for the first round of things we needed done. The small front yard had several dead patches of grass and we wanted to dethatch it, aerate it, and re-seed it. As part of the larger second round, we want more landscaping done outside of the grass renewal itself. Contacted a few companies that could do all of that + the 2nd round of landscaping and we were getting very large estimates of several thousand dollars. And then just to do the grass it would be roughly $1k. Alvaro was able to provide an estimate for much cheaper that was very reasonable, but he said he didn't have a machine to do the dethatching part. So I went and bought a metal dethatching rake from Ace hardware for $35 and raked it out myself for about 30 minutes each morning before work. Spent maybe 4 hours total as there was a lot. (Of course, I saved several hundred dollars by doing this myself manually and I understand that not everyone has the time for that or is willing to do it.) He then came in, aerated the lawn and re-seeded it. Just shy of 3 weeks later, I can see the new grass sprouting. I'm going to contact him soon for the 2nd round of bigger landscaping that we need, and I'm going to contact his brother who can do the regular mowing service on our lawn. After years of doing our own yard, my husband finally broke down and hired a lawn service company. This is BIG considering he is very particular about how the lawn is cut. We contacted several contractors in the area. One was completely ridiculous in terms of what they wanted to charge, another we played telephone tag to the point of, ok it's been 2 weeks since we spoke last, exactly how long does it take to provide a quote? ‍ And yet another guy that didn't bother to call back at all. How you you expect to run a business if you can't respond in a timely manner or in some cases, not at all? And considering the size of our yard, Fresh Edge was extremely reasonable! The owner is very conscientious about the job they do and every week the yard looks better and better.
