Best Chicken Kabos on the north side of Indy. Big fan of their carry out service and the way they package everything. Outstanding service and a place I find myself getting frequently. Garlic butter Naan bread is an absolute must!

Standard run of the mill Indian In America within a predominantly white neighborhood kinda restaurant. Decent curry, nothing deeply traditional or unique. Good stop for a quick lunch. Note they close at 2:30, as is common with Indian restauranteering - I was shewed away at 2:10, so don't plan on staying until the 230 closing :\

This is my go to for those Indian food cravings I get!! First off, it comes off as just a simple fast food environment. There isn't very many decorations or Bollywood music playing (in fact, both TVs had ESPN on). However, it's the food that's the star of the show and that's what brings us back time and time again. On this trip we ordered Samosas, Chicken Korma and Butter chicken. Wow, the sauce for both dishes were incredible. We dined in and our food came out in "to go" containers. Not a big deal, if I'm a betting man they're probably going for the "less is more" approach. Again, the flavor is just incredible. If you're passing through Carmel and want some delicious and satisfying Indian food, they got you!!

    Chicken Kabab. Amazing flavor.

We have been coming here for years. It's always so FRESH. The secret ingredient tea is amazing. The owner says they will hopefully be selling it stores soon. . I will be the first in line to buy it. All the food is made to order! Naan is delicious. You can dine in, carry out or they do events. Check it out.

The only thing generic about this place is the name! I decided to try it for dinner based on all the good reviews and boy am I glad I did. The menu is pretty extensive, but I went with the classic Chicken Tikka Masala, which is pretty much my go-to at any Indian restaurant. It took about 10 minutes to prepare, and in that time frame there were probably 5-6 people that came in to pick up to-go orders. Needless to say, this is a popular place! The food was delicious and just the right amount. The garlic naan was huge, but also just as good. If you're craving some ethnic food on the north side of Indy, definitely give this place a shot!

I have denied myself the deliciousness that is Fresh Indian Grill for four months now. It's so conveniently located, that I was afraid I'd go everyday. Yesterday was the day I finally caved only to find that my suspicion was correct. I'll be back. I came in to pick up a carryout lunch. I chose the chicken saag with a medium level spice and made it a combo meal with garlic naan and a drink. The chicken in the saag tasted like fresh grilled, juicy chicken. The saag was wonderfully cooked and seasoned. The rice was perfectly cooked and the portion was a good size. The medium spice seemed just right for me. I like a little spice but not too much. I forgot to ask them to save the cilantro, but I picked off the garnish from the saag easily and what was on the naan didn't seem to bother me. I think the iced tea was a chai tea. It wasn't your typical iced tea and I really enjoyed it. It took about 10 minutes to get my food after ordering.

I'm OBSESSED with here! Seriously, you have to go. I've been here multiple times throughout the years and it's some of the best service and Indian food in Indianapolis. You walk up to order and the menus are easy to ready (and separated by signature and vegetarian options- which i found helpful). I've had the chicken tikka masala and the aloo gobhi. Both have been great! I totally recommend making it a meal and getting the combo. The naan will blow you away! So you get a pretty large portion of whatever you order and four pieces of naan- amazing deal. Amazing taste. I love it. More importantly, the service is awesome. There's always someone asking how your meal is or if there's anything they can get for you. I really appreciate it. Usually places where you order at a register and sit down don't have the best service, but fresh India goes above and beyond!

    Incredible butter chicken. Get it!

I didn't see butter chicken (my favorite) on the menu, but when I asked, the man behind the counter told me they made it. I was thrilled and got it as a combo meal (rice, naan and a drink) for $17. That's pricey, but it's a good portion of food and could probably be shared between two people. On this particular day I was super hungry and ate the whole thing by myself. The butter chicken was amazing! The sauce was smooth and rich in flavor. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection. The Naan was pillowy and a little chewy. The rice was impeccably seasoned and tasted great on it's own. Combining it was a little flavor dance party in my mouth. I couldn't get enough. Absolutely wonderful food with quick and friendly service!

This was my first time eating at an Indian restaurant! It was soooo good. I got chicken curry mild and my bf got chicken tikki masala medium. I really loved what I got, but my bfs food was actually my fav lol. I'm definitely going to get the chicken tikki masala with medium spice next time. We came in an hour before they closed and they were so nice and food was fresh! Me and my bf always need a place that has later hours so we really appreciated how nice they were about us eating there and how good the food is. Price was very reasonable too!

Yeah, this'll do in a pinch! I'll edit my review because Fresh Indian Grill seems to have stepped up their game a bit. I was craving some chicken tikka masala during a time when the local sit-down Indian restaurant wasn't open. But lo and behold, after some searching on Yelp, I found this fast-casual joint. Fresh Indian Grill came to my rescue by being open and having some bomb chicken tikka. It satisfied my craving and I was able to go on with my day. The meals come with a side of basmati rice. I didn't know that and ordered an additional side of rice, so I ended up with too much rice. Don't make my mistake! Just order the meal and you'll get rice. Unless you want a lot of rice -- in that case, you do you. I also got an order of naan, which was delicious and soft and pillowy. I never actually stepped into this restaurant because I got my order through Door Dash. So if you're looking for delivery Indian food, try this place -- they use Door Dash to deliver.

This was my first time visiting Fresh Indian Grill, and it for sure will not be my last! I opted for a carryout order and it was seamless and very quick - about 15 minutes from order to pickup! Also, the menu is priced very fairly. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and Samosa. The Masala was very good and I would highly recommend it, it was fresh, came in a great to-go container and was very hot. The samosa was also really good, I had never had this kind of appetizer but I will definitely be getting it again! Also, the dipping sauce for the samosa was awesome! I would highly recommend this place and I can't wait to go back and try other menu options!

I have been coming here for years! They have the absolute best chicken tikka masala paired with the garlic naan. I can't get it without their sweet tea which tastes like sweet tea with cinnamon. . . Sounds weird but it's GOOD! I recently tried to step out of my usual and got a couple new (to me) dishes to try. I honestly didn't love them but it's just due to my personal preference. It wasn't dry & didn't lack taste . . I just don't prefer them over my usual. I will say the lamb in the biryani was very tender & didn't have much bone to pick out which is a plus. Sometimes they post coupons on their FB page so that's worth a look before you go!

Paneer massala was tasty. The Roti and Naan was extra

There was a light crowd for lunch, which surprised me given the excellent Indian food. I strongly encourage others to give this new restaurant a try. For an appetizer we had the Shahi Kurkuri Bhindi. This is thinly sliced okra with light breading and seasoning. It is deep fried. It was $10 for plenty to share. We would definitely order it again. They have a lunch menu but we ordered from the regular dinner menu. My wife had the Punjav's Favorite Tikka Masala with chicken. It was $19 and is ranked as some of the best she said she has ever had. I enjoyed the Kashmiri Rogan Josh. You can order it with lamb, chicken, or bone-in goat. I chose the lamb. The serving was very generous and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was $19 as well. We ordered the Rosemary Garlic Naan, for $5, to accompany the dishes and it did not disappoint. All dishes were served with rice. The decor is upscale modern. The servers were very attentive, pleasant. and knowledgeable about the menu. This is the best Indian food I have had in Carmel and ranks very high among any Indian restaurants I have experienced. I encourage others to give it a try ... even if you may have never tasted Indian food. You will find something on the menu and you will not be disappointed.

I started with the jalapeño paneer appetizer--creamy, spicy, crispy... honestly addictive. We had the lamb vindaloo and the butter chicken--bold, rich, and perfectly balanced. For lunch they offer a buffet and for dinners, there is an a la carte menu. I'm not usually a buffet kind of diner, but I made an exception to try the food. The benefit of the buffet is that you get to sample many different options. The dining room is upscale, immaculate and comfortable with beautiful murals on the walls. A interesting mural of downtown Indy is over the bar. (BTW, they have a full bar). TV monitors played Bollywood and other colorful Indian shows. The hosted is welcoming and super friendly and tells you to go straight to the buffet, while she gets water. The $15 buffet is separated in to vegetarian options, meat options and salads. I tried a number of my Indian favorites including Chicken Masala, Butter Chicken, Vegetable Curry, Aloo (potato) Pakoda, Assorted Vegetables and salad (romaine) with assorted dressings. I also tried the Rice Curd. My favorite was the Butter Chicken and Aloo Padoka. The food was a perfect spicy for me. It was slightly spicy hot, but not unbearable. The hostess also brought us out servings of warm butter naan. She checked on us several times and encouraged us to try some desert, which we had missed. The balls of Gulab Jamun were sweet and delicious. I was glad she sent us back! Munzul, the owner, stopped by our table and introduced himself. He is friendly and sought honest feedback. He is eager to please his new clientele. There seems to be plenty of parking in the tiny strip mall lot. The building is accessible.

But I gather that Desi District cares not for all that mess: everyone is welcome. This is a neat spot to grab a hot lunch or stock up on food of the Indian persuasion, like the frozen packages of naan I scored. Initially, I stopped in because I needed a tomato. They have lots of tomatoes here, plus other fresh produce, like potatoes, garlic, ginger, peanuts in the shell, and other things. They also have aisles of packaged food, such as cookies, tea, gelatin (?!? Yeah, they have lots of gelatin here), noodles, spices, seeds, curry, snacks, and lots of other things. Along with the frozen naan, I also got some ice cream treats for my kids. I picked the most obscure flavors (obscure for our American gringo palates), and we ended up loving all of the Indian ice cream flavors we tasted. There's a food court here with lots of seating. I didn't eat any of the hot food this time, but I saw some samosas that looked dang delicious, so I'll have to be back to try them. The people who work here are exceedingly friendly and kind. We ordered the lunch special Veg Thali, which is a plate containing a mix of little dishes, so you can taste everything. For some reason they were out of rice, which was the main ingredient on the plate so they gave us the option of additional naan, which was fine. We liked all the dishes on the Thali. I especially enjoyed the Paneer dish. The curries were warm and delicious. There was a very spicy hot spread that we loved. I'd get Thali again. We also ordered some garlic naan. The naan seemed to be frozen as the bread was hot on the outside but cold on the inside. We were disappointed by the garlic naan. But the regular naan that came with our Thali was good. We also ordered samosas which were flavorful and filling. An order comes with some 3 Samosas and a sweet dipping sauce. Very good. They must be a little short staffed.
