I stopped by a Fresh Thyme Market on my way home from Columbus. I needed to do groceries and I thought I would be efficient and get it done before the weekend. I love Fresh Thyme Markets as they have fresh veggies and meat and a great deli filled with Boar's Head brand meats. The staff is friendly. First time coming to this location to grab some lunch. What I enjoy about all of the Fresh Thyme Markets is that all of the locations layouts are identical to the others with slight difference. Overall, I found my usual products without any issues. They had some local vendors advertising their products who were pretty friendly. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Love the smaller grocery store experience, easy to find things. Excellent produce and meat, and great selection of vitamins too. Pickup service is convenient; delivery if you need it. This is the first grocery store I actually enjoy shopping in...the ambience and layout is just very pleasant. I had gotten to the point where I dreaded going in the big box grocery stores...too much to navigate. Very grateful Meijer came up with this simpler, smaller, more appealing option in a grocery store. I can get in and out quickly, and I like seeing staff I recognize. Whenever i get produce here for a family gathering or friends event folks always notice the quality and ask where I found it. Got an outstanding heirloom Jaindl turkey for Thanksgiving too. Clean and nice looking store - it's very colorful with the produce section taking front and center locations as you enter. The other aisles are worth checking out if you're looking for specialty products that you can't find in other stores - I found several items that I can't get locally elsewhere, and given that I would otherwise have to special order, the prices were reasonable. My family of 4 was looking forward to the Fresh Thyme Thanksgiving meal this year so that we did not need to spend all day in the kitchen. It was bit disappointing. The turkey and mashed potatoes were delicious (even though they were not red potatoes as advertised). The dressing and cranberry sauce were inedible. Dressing is our favorite part of the meal. It had so much pepper and sage in it that we could not eat it. The cranberry sauce was like soup. Generally I love Fresh Thyme so this was just somewhat disappointing. read more

Fresh Thyme has some good things about it. It has a big selection of fresh foods. The produce section is bigger than those of most stores. It seems to care more about this section than other areas. The other stuff in the store is expensive and not as good as the fresh stuff. I have a problem with the prices of some other items. The frozen and grocery items are overpriced. It has items like milk for $3 and soy milk for even more. This isn't what the store wants to focus on. It has some cereals that are cheaper here at least so be sure to look at those. Besides that check out the fruits and vegetables because it's the best area. It has many hard to find items. The prepared foods are also overpriced. It has some cold and hot bar food. The salad bar is a lot smaller but as expensive as Whole Foods. I like some things about Fresh Thyme. It has the wide selection of produce, which is comparatively cheaper. So here is the newest addition to our Columbus food scene folks. You'll probably want to give this place a try if you are into healthy eating. They've got a great produce department, bulk goods and from the looks of it, they stock quite a bit of gluten free products Of course everything is shiny and new, the shelves are fully stocked and the employees have that "just starting the job" exuberance. If you want to get an idea of what to expect here, just think Whole Foods meets Fresh Market meets Lucky's Market and you'll have a pretty good idea of what these folks are about. The store has two personalities to it. On the right hand side is the "market" style setup with that jumbled, fun to explore look. On this side you'll find the bakery section, a huge bulk foods, produce section and then meats and deli. I think I'll got there for their produce the most. If you are into organic... The other side of the store is more of a grocery store setup with straight aisles where most anyone could do all their grocery shopping. I didn't see much that I hadn't seen before with the usual items you'd find at Fresh Market or maybe even Lucky's Market. One stand out is their supplements section. It's huge and it's very well stocked. One thing that seemed to lack was their beer and wine section - I was expecting something much better here. So all in all, my first take is that this is a very nice store with competitive prices. It's big enough to be a full on food destination but still small enough to give you that feeling of discovery and fun at the market. One last thing: They've taken a cue from Lucky's Market in that they do double ad Wednesdays for even more savings. read more

You know that part in The Devil Wears Prada where Miranda visits James Holt to see his new collection--and she purses her lips, signaling her utter her disapproval? Let's just say I found myself pursing my lips as I drove away from Fresh Thyme. Okay, I am *so* not the Miranda Priestly of markets, and Fresh Thyme wasn't all that bad. The Devil Wears Prada, however, *is* my favorite movie. Now, moving on to things that actually matter... On paper, Fresh Thyme totally works. It's a beautiful natural market with loads of gorgeous produce, daily flown-in seafood, a well-stocked bakery, packaged foods to meet any dietary needs, and a truckload of smiling, cheerful employees. But when you look a little deeper, it's not quite as great as it seems. I genuinely think most people will like Fresh Thyme. I just have extremely specific things I'm looking for, and it didn't deliver. Here's what I'm a bit disappointed in: -Not much local produce. There's a tiny section in the front of the store, but that's it! -There is no local meat. They have a fresh section of "all natural" meats, but I'm much more interested in labels like "grass-fed" or "pastured." They do have these items in the frozen section, but the prices are astronomical--and not local. -No Snowville dairy products. They have Hartzler milk, but I really love Snowville's yogurt and other dairy products. -The prices aren't great. Sure, there are big deals on produce, but for the most part, prices are more expensive than other comparable stores. Oh, and get a load of this: They marked Jeni's pints at $9 each, which IS $1 cheaper than they retail for in every other Columbus store; however, they had stickers that said they were $3 cheaper than retail. Sorry, but that's just not true in the Columbus market. -The bulks are okay, but they don't have a good selection of alternative flours. They have one gluten-free flour, but that's it. No coconut flour, almond flour, etc. I think that Fresh Thyme really is A-OK, but it's not really for me. Going here actually made me REALLY miss Lucky's Market. Dammit. read more

So, we don't shop here a lot but when we do, we usually find some nice looking produce and/or a good deal on something from the meat section. A few weeks back they were selling Crab legs for less than $11.00 a pound, which we thought was a great deal! The store is always clean plus the employees are pleasant and easy to talk to. We tend to buy sausages from the meat case when getting ready to make some Italian food and have tried the various types of Poke they offer. The bread and cheese selections here are also well stocked and decently priced. We like that they carry some brands (canned, boxed and frozen foods) not normally found in the larger stores, (Kroger and Giant Eagle) as well. We do try to eat healthy meals these days and having an alternative store we can shop to find the items needed is a wonderful thing. read more

I'd really like to give this a 2.5, but that's not an option so I'm rounding up. The pros: Good selection of produce. They are advertised as a "farmers market", so it better have good produce right? The prices are very reasonable on both the organic and non-organic items. Better selection and quality than Trader Joe's. Better prices than Whole foods. There is also a good selection on bulk items. Some prices are good, some aren't. The meat counter The cons: The rest of the selection can be limited and/or pricey. There's just not a lot in the way of variety with pastas, stock, canned goods, flours, etc. It's on par with any Kroger or Giant Eagle. Prices are very high on frozen foods. Other comments: The deli has a good selection, but it's only slightly better than my local Kroger. Prices are about $0.50/pound cheaper on Boar's Heads products than my local Kroger. And there's a big downside to the deli and it's the service. Service is a very slow and the line is very disorganized. There's just not enough room to have an organized service process. read more

Finally made it here. It's kind of like a cross between Trader Joe's and Whole Foods- a bit expensive, decent selection, sized between the two. It's handier for me than either of those, and definitely worth a return trip. The produce section is large; I was a bit disappointed in the deli section. I ended up getting some snacks for work, and noticed lots of bulk foods and vitamins, etc. There seemed to be a good beer and wine selection, and lots of interesting prepared foods. I came Saturday evening and took my time walking around. I was unable to check in on the Yelp app, which was weird. It's a very nice store and it seems to me to be a cross between Whole Foods and Lucky's. I found it to be a bit pricey, but they had great grand opening sale items, such as the 2-for-$1 muffins, and $1.88 tubes of herbs, as well as decent prices on organic berries. I like the produce section, and in the bulk area, there is a very cool self-serve dispenser of vinegar, oils, and honey. In particular, these two things stood out and will make me come back: Naturtint hair color is $2 cheaper than Whole Foods. Lentil Snaps snack - Tomato Basil flavor - Lucky's has been out of this for months I will make this a regular stop when I make my weekly trip to Trader Joe's. read more

Yep, FT has good prices on supplements and produce. I can always find a new product to try. Their meat section is small and they are often sold out. What I can't get over? In 3 visits, I have asked the cashier each time about how to use the app. I wasn't clear on if it was a loyalty card, or if there were coupons to apply... each time this was the response from the cashier: "I don't know. This is fantastic & best grocery store i have in columbus and luckily its very close my place in Dublin. They have very fresh, Clean and High quality Vegetable produce and fruits. The Price is very competitive compared to Whole Food, Trader Joe's Or Kroger. I feel Fresh Thyme Farmers market is a Best Kept secret in Town. I'm a big fan of Fresh Thyme in Dublin....Have been going to the store since it opened about 4 years ago....They have weekly specials (take advantage of the produce on sale - usually crazy cheap) that change every Wednesday (Double Ad Wednesday's)I believe.....To the store, the store isn't huge, but definitely big enough to meet most of your needs as a shopper.... Likes: The prepared food section is spot on...You can get fresh sandwiches to order, they have 100's of selection and the Fresh Thyme Turkey is all natural...it's awesome, you must try it...If a sandwich isn't your thing, order a pizza....yes they make fresh homemade pies there and they are delicious and more affordable than any pizza joint in the area...These aren't frozen pizza's folks, they taste as good if not better than your local pizza joint at almost 50% the price..FT also has a salad bar, 2 different soups daily and an olive bar....Also have to mention the service, prepared food service is spot on, the folks behind the counter are efficient and friendly....they serve you with a smile and fill all your needs... The meat counter is $$...Love the homemade sausage, usually have 4-6 homemade sausage (hot italian, italian, apple, feta spinach etc), get it you won't be sorry...Have also ordered and tried their in house burgers, steaks, chicken and chops (can't go wrong with any of their selections).....Their seafood is also very good, if they don't have the quantity you want at the counter they have a huge frozen section of Shrimp and other seafood delicacies that is usually on sale within a couple steps of the seafood counter... I also like their produce, they usually have several produce items on sale weekly and I have never had a bad experience with their produce....I usually buy several items every visit and go for the sales, they are usually pretty impressive.... Their are a lot of other things that I like about Fresh Thyme, including their health and beauty products, large selection of supplements, vitamins and healthy choices....Nice bulk selection including nuts, candies, coffee and other sundries that you may not find in bulk.... I also want to mention the Spring Water sold at Fresh Thyme, big fan....Sold in Green Shrink Wrap, usually $2.99 a case and you won't buy any other H2O once you try Fresh Thyme's version..... Dislikes: Sometimes you have to wait for a cashier, it seems that they usually only have one cashier up front during the days....It may be a minor thing but service matters.... This place is right across the street from my house and I know many employees here by name and for the most part find it very convenient since it is right across the street. The applewood smoked bacon at the butcher is the best and the deli is awesome along with the cashiers and managers, all the staff there are super friendly and cool folks. I really like how they have free fruit for kids instead of cookies like the giant chain stores and it is a pretty health conscience place. The only reason why it did not get 5 stars is it can be a bit pricey except for the in house brands which are affordable and the salad bar has so much potential and is so exciting to look at from a distance but the lettuce is always wilted and nasty and whoever is responsible for this should be investigated for collusion or something. Come on guys you have an awesome salad bar, use your eyes and look at the nasty ass lettuce you are pawning off on these unsuspecting victims. I have to pick it out piece by piece like some kind of little elf or something! Other than the absolutely hideous excuse for lettuce in the salad bar that they should be absolutely ashamed of this place is great! Ps the lettuce on the salad bar sucks always! read more

I love Fresh Thyme. The produce selection is wonderful and when it's on sale, it's usually cheaper there than anywhere else that has it on sale. Their in house made bottled juices and waters are SO good. I usually have to get an orange juice while I'm shopping but yesterday I opted for the rosemary and blueberry infused water, it was amazing. The meats are great quality and the cheese selection is good. Employees are usually happy and super friendly. There is not a thing that I can complain about with Fresh Thyme. read more

this review may be biased, as it was opening day, but i sure was impressed! friendly staff, plentiful stock and a very clean/organized store. it seemed comparable to whole foods and lucky's, but i think with better prices. also, double ad wednesdays is a great deal...and no more confusion as to when the old ad ends and the new one starts! for those who don't know, double ad wednesdays = the day where the old ad and new ad's deals overlap [every wednesday] and you get double the amount of sale items. the store was also simple to navigate. everything was fairly easy to find. much of the produce seemed to be local and organic, which is fantastic. hooray for supporting ohio produce! it felt like i was at a farmers market, but with organization and air conditioning. read more

They should be called the NOT so fresh market. This store has the WORST WORST customer service. Especially the manager who works in the front. They may have great prices but they treat their customers like sh*t. I had meat that went bad before the sell by date, and they told me its my fault I didn't cook it sooner, but doesn't the sell by date tell you the date that it should be fresh?? Also, I bought peanut butter that expired in 2013, tried to return it, and the manager says the date is not 2013, its 2019!!! Seriously they have peanut butter that has a shelf life of 5+ years? Its a all natural/organic store which means the shelf life is 1 year MAX. So if you want rotten, moldy and expired food + horrible customer service.....you can give them a visit. read more

I really do love this marketplace. It's cheaper than Whole Foods. They have live music and samples all the time! Free samples is always a plus. I find myself stopping by Fresh Thyme on my lunch breaks grabbing a coconut water and some type of hot meal. I typically stick to restaurants, but I'm making an exception to tell you to keep driving the further four blocks to TJ's or Whole Foods. I'm basing my review on the selection of Fresh Thyme products I bought: deli meat, pico de gallo, bulk snacks, and hummus. I mean, a bag of Snack Factor pretzel crisps is the same no matter where you buy it (and I do love me some pretzel crisps). Without exception, the products I bought were awful. The pico was tasteless. The hummus tasted horribly of raw garlic. The bulk snacks (toasted corn and rice crackers) were tasteless AND stale. The deli roast beef was okay, but the roasted turkey was gross and tasted processed to within an inch of its life. The staff members I dealt with were nice. The selection of brand name products seemed fine, but I threw away almost everything ready-to-eat I bought. read more

Overall - the produce always appears to be fresh (minus the organic bell peppers - the ONLY thing I can gripe about), and well maintained for the volume of the displays. I can't say enough about this place, as it has saved me so much money. I wish I could shop here exclusively, but the produce and bulk items are what I really come here for. My store list grew by 1 and shrunk by 2 after finding Fresh Thyme - so it's a win for me! Look out Whole Foods and Trader Joe's because the new kid in town is looking good. This store is much smaller than Whole Foods but a little bigger than Trader Joes. The great deals are why I love this place. Salmon for $4.99 a pound, Scallops for $7.99, 90/10 Ground beef for under $2, avocados& pineapple for $.88, 3 small melon for $1. These are a few example of the deals in the first two weeks. The produce looks good and tastes pretty good as well. I love Salmon and this is the cheapest I have ever found it. The staff is very friendly. The Chocolate chip cookies are very tasty and for 2 for $1, great deal. I made my own peanut butter for $1.99 a pound which another great deal. We talked to a worker and they said they plan to keep sale prices at a good value instead of jacking them up like their competitors and then making you think the sale prices are amazing. The few negatives: it is packed inside and hard to maneuver at times. Maybe after the initial excitement this place will mellow out. The carts are smaller so with two infants, this place would be hard to shop by oneself. It is too new to get a good read if they will be consistent. read more

Fresh Thyme does so much right! Amazingly inexpensive organice produce that is loads better quality than that I've found at Giant Eagly & Kroger. They have a great meat counter (I am wierd about chicken & I LOVE their fresh chicken). The personal hygine section is great, a litle pricey, but well worth it to not be filling the body with chemicals. I discovered this stoer last week & I will go many times again. read more

This sounds so trite but it really does remind me of this. What's this? It's how I view Fresh Thyme as the offspring of Whole Foods and Trader Joes. They aren't as foo foo as Whole Foods but they do have a lot of regular things and not just store brand unlike Trader Joes. They run the gamut with food here from gluten free/vegan/etc. to good old make me a ham and cheese sandwich while I grab a steak. The prices were pretty reasonable too with a lot (but not all) things but what I loved the most were the barrels and the bins! Oh yeah give me my plastic bag and let me shovel out as much or as little of what's in there. I made out like a bandit with their dried apricots which can cost a pretty penny at other stores but here I got as much as I wanted and it cost me far less. The parking lot always seems to be crowded so they are doing a good business so far. I'll be back that's for sure! read more

I have been to Fresh Thyme several times since it opened and I want to update my original review, because I've gone from fan to superfan in short order. **I am vegan, so my shopping list reflects that. Lest my mentions of vegan items dissuade you, this is not a vegan-only supermarket. They have a meat counter and shit like that too. Prepared foods: there is usually a vegan option available, in addition to various other items. The hummus wrap with tofu is fabulous. The last time I went, they even had vegan blueberry mini-muffins. I do not need mini-muffins, but was really tempted to buy them just because they are vegan. I have used their pizza dough with great success (shut up Martha Stewart! I'm sure homemade dough is the best but I have life to lead that involves Netflix and....yeah, Netflix.) Produce: fabulous selection, much of it organic. The prices are on par with other supermarkets. The produce department also is just laid out and displayed beautifully. There are bountiful pyramids of everything. Just try to walk through there without making an impulse buy. Baking supplies: FABULOUS selection of flours and other baking supplies here. I think their selection is better than Whole Foods. I was able to pick up chickpea flour, xanthan gum and arrowroot powder. If you are a Bob's Red Mill fan (and who ISN'T?), you'll love it. They have a good spice selection, and a bulk spice area as well. They have an extensive shelf-stable nut milk selection as well. (this doesn't apply to me, but there is also a whole row of gluten-free items.) Bulk section: Good bulk section, but I love that they have flour available. Great for those who don't need to buy flour in 5 pound increments. Frozen foods: The frozen section doesn't look that large, but there is a surprisingly wide array of stuff. They carry the hard-to-find Tofurkey pizzas here. Now if they would only just carry the Field Roast Pretzel Dogs. There is also an extensive health foods section, including a whole wall for digestive remedies. I picked up a probiotic powder here (Prebiotin) that I like pretty well. Checkout staff is usually pretty friendly. The store gets steady traffic, but is never that crowded. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of. All of the above has made them my go-to instead of Whole Foods. read more

In addition they have a great tea sale going on where the Traditional Medicinals brand is cheaper than I have ever seen it anywhere!
