Walking into this shop, you could easily mistake it for a used bookstore. It's fairly small, but there's a decent variety, the books are categorized by genre, and the prices are more than reasonable (about £1.25 a book). There are also DVDs, tapes, music, etc. They have a range of media that aren't on display, but you can go upstairs to take a look. Freshfields is a charity shop, but they specialize in books and media (not the place to go for general goods).
The great thing about it is that the shop keepers tend to be very knowledgeable, and if they see something that piques your interest that they've read/heard/watched, they will give you feedback on what they thought about it. They're pretty chatty and really do seem to enjoy what they do. Also, if you're looking for something in particular that they don't have, they'll keep an eye out for you. I went in yesterday, and one of the owners said that he'll always find what you're looking for... it may takes years, but he'll always find it. :)
Oh, and prices can be negotiable if you buy a lot off of them. read more
