A storied wine producer (founded in 1659) located in the heart of Eguisheim, a picturesque town in Alsace considered to be the heart of the wine region. Five of us visited to taste the wines as a part of a food tour with Alsaciette Tours in Colmar. We entered the building which dates from 1600's into a cool, quiet courtyard that felt 100 miles away from the tourist hustle just outside and met David Ling, a Brit who has worked in the Alsace wine industry for nearly 50 years. He was so engaging and I could have listened to him for hours about the history of the wines, the people and the region. We sat and tasted 6 of their 16 delightful and affordable wines including several we had never had including a refreshing Chasselas and spirited Pinot Blanc.
