Over a decade ago I went to Friendly Donuts in Orange and I was so underwhelmed. Recently when my boyfriend mentioned seeing Friendly Donuts from a YouTuber he follows, I was open to trying it again. It's been so long. I was rooting for them to improve. I was optimistic as we pulled up into their little parking lot. There was a lot of improvements to the donut shop. Definitely new paint, new fun back drop, a wide selection when we came during the weekend. We ordered a Canadian Favorite ($4.50), a Pistachio Donut ($3.25), a Maple Cruller (Promo $1), and a Dozen Donut Holes ($4). We were full from lunch but we wanted to try the donut holes right away.. .. .. ugh... disappointment... so dense. Not a fan. My boyfriend ate the pistachio donut said it was not bad, better than the donut holes. His theory is maybe they do better cake donuts than yeast donuts. I microwaved the Canadian favorite which is the maple with the bacon and it wasn't hard since it was warm, flavor was good but just about as good as all the other donut shops. Oh the seating the did have along the side of the little shop was a bit tight and the surface could use some cleaning. It had a lot of donut crumbles from previous patrons. I feel like the latest visit is a smidge better than my last visit. I do see improvements but I wouldn't go out of my way for this place. It's probably an okay option for locals. And I still don't feel like they're friendly... sorry when you name your place friendly donuts, you set up expectations for your staff to be friendly.
Stopped by Friendly Donuts on my way back home from a road trip. I'm so glad we stopped, because they had a nice selection of vegan donuts for my son and regular donuts for myself. Every donut we tried was delicious. I like that the donuts do not taste artificial and the flavors really come through! My favorite donut flavor as the Ube! Very clean inside and staff were helpful plus friendly!
An excellent little donut shop in OC. I've been here a few times already, and it's always a pleasant experience. The many and unique donuts to choose from, breakfast croissants and sandwiches, coffees, a variety of beverages, and more! They offer some great seasonal and monthly special items. Always looking forward to what they create. They also have some classic donuts as well if that's your thing. One of my recent orders was the turkey cold croissant sandwich with avocado, cheese, and the works. It was tasty and filling. A few more recent favorites are the glazed ube and blueberry donuts, breakfast and cold croissant sandwiches, Green Thai Tea, and many more I can't remember. Browsing the tasty-looking treats is also an enjoyment. They also offer a variety of gluten-friendly and vegan donuts. Nice to know they are aware of dietary needs. The prices reflect some of the premium offerings, but it's definitely a nice treat once in a while. The staff and service have been friendly and efficient, getting customers through quickly. Once inside, the fun decor and the mouthwatering display of goodies enhance the experience. I'm looking forward to visiting again when the sweet cravings hit.
Very good donuts, very nicely decorated, it seems like they're on social media a lot lately. Service was nice, but I do want to mention that we purchased five donuts and it seems like he wanted us to buy even more. They were delicious, but A little bit more expensive than the average donut place. I try to visit there, as I'm driving down Santiago Canyon Road. I may go back next time and give feedback on their coffee.
This place is home. Alan, Mimi, bless you both. Came here after 48 hours in hospital while my wife was in labor -- came to give the nurses some mochi donuts. 12 hours later, my daughter was born. Some credited the doctors, most credited my wife, but i credit friendlys!!! Came back the next day and got the nurses even more donuts.. This place is just the best - vegan friendly and truly next level Alan i appreciate you brother!!

AMAZED AND AMAZING!!! First Timer (03.23.2026) at this place and I was very IMPRESSED!!! Of course, twas via social media that we heard of this place. Trying it out was right out of the park and I am glad we did. Location on Chapman has a uniqueness to it. Building has a happy feel to it, very well maintained and has ample parking. Walking into a field of donuts that looked all delicious was pretty awesome. This place has a huge selection of donuts and they were so colorful. In addition to this, there's a drink (coffee and blended) and food (breakfast croissants, bagels and sandwiches). selection. Super fast and friendly service from Aryll (I believe that was his name) which I appreciate. I loved loved loved the Sausage, Egg and Cheese Bagel. It was so good. I also had the Vietnamese coffee, which I honestly thought was just ok but that's cool (now I know). Of course, had to get a few donuts for later. Thank you so much Friendly Donuts, the experience was a pleasant one and I intend to be a returning guest. Keep up the great work with this place. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place if you are in the area. I have no doubt it WILL NOT disappoint.
Friday night got a whole lot friendlier after stopping by Friendly Donuts for a box of goodies. Got excited pulling into the parking lot because how else are you supposed to feel when about to indulge in some donuts. Storefront is super cute with fun art and color schemes. Immediately ate with my eyes when I saw the variety of sweet treats hosted across the shelves. Went for a glazed old fashioned and glazed cruller. Loved both. Pricing is all reasonable considering the quality and freshness. Caleb was amazing and made an already enjoyable experience even better. Pro tip: come towards the end of the day and they may throw in a few extra goodies on the house. Really happy Friendly Donuts is only 13 mins from home but that can also be dangerous. Will absolutely be back.
I mean I get it. It's trendy. The quality of the bacon is not great. Referring to the maple bacon donut. Bacon is of the cheapest quality. The white chocolate guava is too sweet with little to no flavor of guava in their mochi donut. I went with expectations of better flavors and quality but came back home with 2 out of five selections that I didn't eat or enjoy. Service is good plenty of help at 7am

Friendly Donuts is one of my favorite casual donut shops. It looks more cute compared to your average pink boxed donut shop though. They've got all the classic flavors you'd find at other donut shops, but they also come up with cool new flavors like the Hibiscus Lemonade that I tried recently. My personal favorite item here is the jalapeno ham and cheese croissant. It's seriously the best thing here and if you toast it at home, it's even better. The people who work there are super chill and friendly. Even when there is a line out the door, they get everyone through really fast. I always go in the morning so the donuts are always fresh, but I'm not sure what it's like later in the day. Parking can be limited, but if you go early, you should be okay. They take credit cards with no minimum charge. Overall, Friendly Donuts is a must-try if you're into great donuts and good vibes. read more

All the yummy flavors you can imagine in donut form!! First time seeing the viral dubai chocolate as a donut flavor and it did not disappoint. the strawberries were also chefs kiss. I've been here a few times now. I like the variety of donuts they carry and the rotations they do every month. Donut quality is good and the staff is friendly. I like the aesthetic of the business as well. I decided to try their strawberry matcha and sadly it's not a drink I'd recommend. Way way too sweet and the matcha got lost by all the milk and strawberry flavoring. Do try the donuts though! read more

These were hands down the best vegan donuts I've ever had in my life, and I do not say that lightly. The texture? Unreal. Soft, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth magic with zero of that dry, cardboard vibe some vegan pastries fall into. The flavors were bold without being over-the-top sweet, and somehow they tasted indulgent and clean at the same time. If you didn't tell me they were vegan, I would've never guessed -- they're just straight-up phenomenal donuts. I'm officially obsessed and already planning my next visit. Friendly Donuts on Chapman is basically Disneyland for donuts except cheaper, no lines, and nobody's judging you for eating six churros before 9 AM. Walked in for 'just one donut' and somehow left with a box big enough to qualify as carry-on luggage. Pretty sure the glazed donut winked at me. The staff? Suspiciously nice. Like, FBI-level nice. They hand you a maple bar with so much warmth you start wondering if they secretly adopted you. Open late too, which is perfect because nothing says 'life together' like housing a dozen donuts in your car at 1:37 AM. Final review: My diet is gone, my pants are angry, but my soul is happy. 1/11/25 - This shop sells specialty donuts of a wide variety. I paid about $18-19 for 5 of their specialty donuts. We ordered the French crème donut, Plain dosant (donut made out of croissant layers stacked on top of each other), Cookies and crème donut, Crème brûlée donut, and Devils food donut. My family and I liked them! The interior is cute and brightly colored. There were only 2 workers which made sense as there were not more than 2 customers in the shop at a time while I was there. read more

They have an amazing $2 einspanner, which first got me to go. After the first time, I've gone back just for the einspanner if I'm in the area because it's delicious and such an unbelievable price! Their pastry selection has so much more than just donuts and they have amazing unique flavors. Their jalapeño croissant is huge and my son loved their donut holes. Their service really is friendly, just like their name, and the decor inside lifts your mood and makes you feel happy. read more

this is the fastest i've written a review bc this place is amazing. the worker is SO sweet and friendly, just the definition of genuine customer service. my partner and i got non-vegan and vegan donuts respectively and she added an extra vegan donut so that we could both have it (,: the decor is so cute and all of the extra donuts are stored in the back of the store, which is dimly lit and cool to keep them fresh! the donuts are all so stunning and the prices for the vegan donuts are so reasonable. finally!! and the selection for vegan donuts is quite large and clearly marked as well. i'm glad that i live near this place because i'll have to return. parking is pretty easy too because this shop has its own lot! read more

One of the coolest donut shops I've ever been to! Friendly donuts is a pinnacle of Orange so I was excited to try it. The interior is bright pink and gold, very 80s diner style. They had the most extensive selection of donuts I've ever seen, so much variety. My favorites (pictured) are the peanut butter jelly and the animal cookie. read more

They just recently put up a sign saying "Vegan donuts". So yes, I believe they do.

I called them and they said they don't at the moment. But they are working on a recipe!
What is ube?
Ube is a purple yam -- It has a smooth texture and a mild, sweet flavor that has been compared to white chocolate or a cross between vanilla and pistachio. That beautiful purple color is its natural color.
