I have MAJOR anxiety about visiting new salons/stylists and was thrilled to see and Aveda open in Rice Lake. With a little bit of luck (and, to be honest, BEGGING) I was able to secure an appointment with Laura, the owner, who I don't believe is taking new clients at this time. I am SO glad I did. My appointment was for a full foil and cut, including bangs.The consultation was incredible, complete with comparing Pinterest photos and a little idea exchange. The color is SUBLIME and the cut is EXACTLY what I asked for. EXACTLY. It's a dream! I left with a few products I didn't have yet, and never once felt pressuered to buy anything or uncomfortable sharing my opinion. Laura was an absolute delight to chat with during my appointment as well. Everyone was friendly and it seemed the other women having their hair done and the busy bee stylists were all enjoying the Aveda experience. The salon itself is lovely. Fresh and bright and contemporary. The gals who work the reception desk are pleasant and helpful. Fringe is a Pure Privilege salon (YES! Rack up those points!) and stocks the complete line of Aveda products, including the chakras and tea! read more

Very unprofessional! I paid a lot of money and didn't get what I thought I was getting. I did get ignored the whole time. Stylists gather and share pictures on their phone and ignore the customer. My stylist wasn't even at work on time so I waited until she arrived. No apologies for being late...I guess her time is more important than mine. They need some customer service training soon or they won't have any customers to ignore. read more

This morning I was embarrassed to go outside. I had several knots in my hair so bad (gotta love synthetic extensions), that even attempting to remove them was an anxiety ridden nightmare. I DEFINITELY thought my visit would entail a shave (a girly girl nightmare!). ERIKA. Singlehandedly. SAVED. My. Hair. It's now feeling soft and amazing, and the cut I got feels fresh and fantastic. No one has ever done such a great job dying my hair before. I have a very difficult natural color to overcome and it isn't very compliant. In the past this has often resulted in "orange" hues coming out- but not at Fringe! They are so knowledgeable about color, and I love that the product is better for my body than traditional dyes. I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Not dependable!! Make an appointment and hold your breath until your actually sitting in the chair! Visited this salon twice and was happy with my cut and highlight each time. I have a crazy schedule with work and kids, so book my appointments out two at time to ensure I get an appointment that works for me and the salon. Just got a call from the salon canceling my appointment for tomorrow evening since the hairdresser has a scheduling issue with her sitter. For a salon with multiple hairdressers, this is unacceptable. The next time they could find to fit me in is over a month away, just about the time I already have an appointment scheduled for six weeks out. Incredibly poor service! Especially for a regular customer. Thumbs down!!! read more
