FANTASTIC! I regularly visit Key West but this is my first time here. The service is outstanding, as is the food. My son is vegetarian and had an impossible burger with crispy julienne potatoes on a Cuban roll. He said it was delicious. I had tostone nachos which also were spectacular. I intend to come again before leaving this island. If you find yourself in Key West wanting Cuban food, this is the place to come to. Also, I've never seen a restaurant offer a "magic meal". This is for someone who cannot afford a meal, they feed you. No questions asked. Im so impressed by this.

A hidden gem right off of duval. We saw all the great reviews and came in for lunch. It is an outdoor seating picnic table laid back vibe. Menu includes burgers, tacos, sandwiches, yuka fries, plantanes etc. My husband had the Cuban sandwich, I had the steak tacos that came with 2 tacos salsa/side of guacamole we also got a side of fried plantanes. Everything was really good even better than expected. The reason for the 4/5 is just the price. Was a little pricy for the amount of food you get/outdoor environment. We did enjoy our meal and would come back as well as reccomend, just for example 2 tacos for $16+ dollars is high even in Key West. 100% worth a try!

Wow. I am truly still speechless from how delicious Frita's is. I got a GF arepa with pork and a side of maduros, and you could instantly tell that the food was fresh and authentic. You order at the window and can sit on the quaint patio or take to-go. We did have to wait a bit for our food, but we didn't mind because everything was made fresh and came out piping hot. The prices were reasonable as well. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Key West!

Found out today the meaning of a Cuban Burger which consists of beef and pork with sauteed onions on Cuban bread served with shoestring potatoes. We stopped into Frita's Coffee Shop which was an interesting sight. The shop was in total disarray with cluttered clothing and a mish mosh of furniture (see pic to make your own decision). A wooden bar was visible but covered with various items. But I saw the espresso machine and ordered two shots from the barista. He did not know the origin of the beans although the blend was definitely dark roasted and tasty. The side of the shop was open garden type with red picnic table seating under a canopy with a small kitchen toward the back.

I LOVE FRITAS!! Right off Duval, you can't go wrong with stopping in and ordering anything off the menu. Their signatures include the Frida Cuban burger and the Cuban pork tacos, among other delicious items like empanadas, Cuban sandwiches, plantain and yuca, coffees, and desserts. Every time I'm fortunate enough to be in the Keys, I make it a priority to get to Fritas: you should too!

The best hidden gem in Key West!!! Very affordable and a wide array of options on their menu. My boyfriend ordered their cuban sandwich (which we're told is a fan favorite) and absolutely loved it. He quite literally scarfed down the whole thing (and it was a big sandwhich). I ordered their birria tacos which were wonderful and very filling. They came with a great mango coleslaw too. We also ordered a side of fries which were soooo yummy. I wish more restaurants made fries like these... clearly i'm still thinking about them. The waiter was very lovely and checked on us multiple times. We sat outside on their patio which was very cute! The waiter even brought out a fan for us because he could see we were hot, which was very nice. If I'm back in the area I will definitely be returning! This spot was my favorite out of the 4 spots we tried in Key West.

Cute tiny place selling burgers, empenadas and some other Cuban dishes. The food is good overall. The portion is tiny, but the prices are very good for this touristic area. You won't find anything more economical than this place on this prime street of key west.

First a shoutout to my boriqua brother, Henry, who made the experience perfect! If you're fortunate to have him as your waiter, he is very welcoming and friendly. The food... OMG! It's off the hook (check out the pictures). I had their popular El Fuego Frita (perfect taste) and my wife had the Cuban, which was amazing. Their sangria was perfect and had mango and cinnamon (that was such a nice touch). Anyway, if you are in Key West, you must check out this little gem! You won't regret it!

Delicious! The plantains were amazing. Also got the Cuban sandwich and fish tacos. There isn't a ton of seating and it's not terribly comfortable but it's definitely a good place to go to on a nice day!

Phenomenal food and excellent service! I ordered the Cuban Pork Tacos and my sis ordered the Yuca fries and Cuban Sandwich. We ended up splitting both and they were equally amazing! Definitely will visit this place next time I am in KW!

We came here for lunch after a long day of walking around Key West. The seating is outdoors only and it's quite hidden to find this place. Otherwise the service was great and quick. It did take them a while to make the food since everything is made fresh. I got the chicken tacos and the aioli sauce in it was my favorite flavoring they put in it. I highly recommend if you want homemade food!

This food truck restaurant looks easy to pass by, but if you do you are missing out! We ordered the BBQ pork sandwich & the Fritas's burger... both excellent! The side order of plantains was scrumptious! The ambience is very casual, benches & make shift tables outside (there was indoor seating available). I'm so sorry........I wasn't able to eat there one more time before I left. We stumbled in on a rainy Wednesday night (got a parking spot right in front). We ate inside, a funky, eclectic room with about a dozen seats (they also have outdoor seating). Friendly, efficient staff. We got their "famous" Frita burgers. It's a wow. Maybe the food highlight of our trip, make it yours. read more

Odd little place but the food is on point. Grilled shrimp tacos were ridiculously good. Amazing fresh pineapple and mango combine with a spicy lime cilantro jalapeno glaze and the savory fresh shrimp are left mostly alone to shine. Stephanie raved about the portabella sandwich. read more

Delicious Fritas! Being from Miami, my husband and I were skeptical about how good their Fritas were going to be and after having the "Confudidita Frita" I was blown away! Lots of flavor! Although this is not a vegetarian restaurant, they were very happy to modify the menu to accommodate 2 vegans and 2 vegetarians. The meat eaters were very happy with their Cuban sandwiches. Everything was good, and it was fun to sit outside. Service was excellent. read more

Stopped in for takeout. Staff was friendly & they let me know that it was taking longer than usual due to having to change something out in kitchen. That was fine because they've got a great soundtrack. I got the frita confundita & it was delish. Definitely coming back. read more

Terrific old Cuban feel. Colorful yet divey. Staff were friendly and professional. Had the Cuban sandwich. The mojo pork was tasty and the bread fresh. A tad too much mustard as it took away from the flavor of the meats. Recommend! read more

Hole in the wall gem. Dont judge a book by its cover. Food was incredible especially the burger! I would recommend takeout as the eating area is less than desirable. Not sure why they dont spend the money to upgrade the furniture? That said the burger and chicken taco were beyond super tasty! read more

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but due to the poor service I received I have to reduce a star. First things first, the food is nothing short of awesome! The homey feel and decor of this, off-the-beaten-path cafe is great! My first impression was off the charts. The host that served us was a sweetheart. A mistake was made on my order and I received chicken tacos and not the Cuban tacos that I had ordered. I didn't fuss because after biting into it, I really liked it. However, our host noticed it was wrong and insisted on correcting the order even though I was ok with what I had received. He assured me that the Cuban tacos were worth it. He was right!!! Perfecto!! We also had the Frita Confundita and were blown away!! It was delicious. We enjoyed it so much we decided to go back a second time 2 days later. We again placed the same order and added the watermelon juice...things were looking good. We sat outside(where your order is prepared in a food truck) and noticed we were the only guests there, which was nice. After about 15 min we saw the chef place the food out to be picked up by the the host (different one than first time). We were approximately 25 ft away from him. After several minutes he walked inside cafe and came out about 5 minutes later. Still waiting for our food...another employee comes out to talk to chef., smiles in our direction and walks away. Still waiting another 5 min. Finally after about 35 min our hostess returns and delivers our food. No apology for the wait. So, basically the food is delicious but the service isn't consistent. read more

Forget the yuca fries, get the corn cake Arepas with the guava marmalade as your side dish. Strike that ! Get 2 !! Comes out hot and moist, with that tangy sweet marmalade. To die for. Everything we ordered was excellent. Service was friendly and fast. Entrees around $10 with $5 sides. Very easy on the pocketbook, very tasty in your mouth. read more

What a great overall casual dining experience! Small, intimate, great decor, great Cuban music in the radio, friendly service, and oh the food! Ordered the fish tacos, which were perfect; guacamole and chips (the chips were warm, the guac served with a scoop of mango salsa); a mixed greens salad with blackened chicken. I picked this place based on the reviews. BOY AM I HAPPY I DID! I am having Frita's withdrawal! Eating here is a MUST if you're in Key West. Skip the big chain like restaurants on Duval and explore smaller restaurants like this that serve ABSOLUTELY delicious and mouth-watering food. We went here several times during our stays. The musts are the Frita's Burger, any of the Arepas, the tacos, and the cubano. Seriously, my mouth is watering now thinking about them. read more

This place was amazing! My girlfriend was craving a Cuban sandwich ever since we planned our Key West trip. We were staying near Duval St. so after a couple eye-openers we found our way to Frita's for lunch. We both ordered the Cuban sandwich and yuca fries. Both were delicious! The pork on the Cuban was cooked to perfection. The yuca fries had a great cilantro pesto on them, mmm. To drink we had fresh lemonade with pineapple and starfruit, also great. Fritas are heavenly Cuban Burgers. Origins are 1930's Cuba where it was street food. They are a mouthwatering blend of beef and pork burger seasoned with Spanish spices and topped with our special sauce and crispy fried julienne potatoes. Salty, savory, sweet and crunchy. All this deliciousness is sandwiched on a Cuban Bun, which is baked fresh daily in house and all of our crispy fried potatoes are hand julienne creating a flavor explosion like no other. Have the traditional, or top it with American or creamy and savory Manchego Cheese. For the ultimate add an egg. Inside the Cafe are delicious ice cream scoops and shakes made from locally crafted premium ice cream. A refreshing twist on the slushy is our all natural fruit slush layered with puree. The mango slush and our fresh watermelon juice make a perfect eye opener mimosa. There's house baked pastries including an eclectic variety of savory and sweet empanadas made daily from scratch. Choose your own fillings for our heavenly corn flour Arepas. Enjoy our mobile grill outside on the patio. This is where our Fritas are grilled to perfection along with pressed Cubanita sandwiches and Cuban inspired tacos, Yucca fries, sweet and crispy house made churros as well as other Key West favorites. Established in 2014.

Frita's opened in Key West in late July of 2014. Our goal was to bring the Cuban flavors of the Frita to Key West. Our recipes were developed slowly and lovingly with visits to Cuba and the assistance of our Cuban friends to bring to you the best flavors possible.

Can we bring our dog on the outside patio?

I am pretty sure that would be fine. Key West is "low key and casual". There is also one seating area out front at a window and you could possibly also sit there. Worst case scenario get take out and eat on a bench nearby. Frita's is SO GOOD!

This visit, I ordered the whole fried yellow snapper, served with yuca, yellow rice, and beans. My dinner companion had the Siboney skirt steak, one of the restaurant's popular dishes, served with a choice of sides. Both meals were excellent. Dessert was equally impressive: a delicious slice of tres leches cake and silky vanilla custard that were the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Dinner for two, including dessert and tip, came to about $100 -- a great value for the quality and quantity of food. El Siboney remains one of my favorite places to eat in Key West.

Still, it was a chill and peaceful spot to sit in the shade, eat lunch, and watch all the cool cars go by -- a nice, relaxed lunch overall.

This place is horrible. Terrible food. And they have a vicious dog that sits outside and it attacked my dog. They refuse to not have the dog sitting on the sidewalk even though it goes after dogs that do not even walk near it. Do not support this business or these terrible dog owners. read more
