I was here recently for the second time since Frog Leg Inn changed ownership and reopened as a more casual restaurant featuring pizza, salad, sandwiches and more casual food in a sports bar type of atmosphere. The ambiance is comfortable, casual and a bit quirky in a fun way. The difference in my visit this time is that Rikki (the owner) waited on us. She was super friendly and helpful. Also, we were there the night of a huge PowerBall lottery jackpot drawing and the restaurant sold lottery tickets. We took this as an unexpected sign to purchase tickets, but didn't win. It was rather exciting anyway at the time... when we had hopes of winning, lol. My friend and I both ordered "small" pizzas that were large enough for more than one meal. My friend ordered a pepperoni pizza with banana peppers on a thin crust and I ordered thin crust with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. Check out pictures below. We both enjoyed our delicious pizzas and took home leftovers. I also ordered a pizza to take home to my mom- with pepperoni and onions on a thin crust. She commented that the thin crust helped her to enjoy the toppings more and that the pepperoni was of high quality and not as greasy as pepperoni can be. Such a quirky little place! Stopped in on a roadtrip to meet local friends & this place was perfect for our quirky friendship! Server was friendly & made some great recommendations - like the pickle bread with bacon! You will not be disappointed. Also tried the grog legs (tasted like chicken) and the fried pickles. These fried pickles were more like work ears than chips, perfect for the pickle lovers at our table. Burgers were great, as was the chicken parm sandwich. Definitely worth a stop! read more

Poor service and rude staff make this a place I will not return. Despite being one of the few places in town for a bite to eat, the atmosphere is thoroughly unwelcoming if you are not one of their regulars and I will not be back. read more

The staff was very nice. We stopped in on our way up for a Detroit Tigers game. Small chef's salad and fish and chips. Both dishes were very good. No AC on a very hot and humid day. I like the vibe though and will go back. read more

Kind of a diamond in the rough in Erie, Mi. The owner, who was also our waitress and the bartender was phenomenal. They have outstanding pizza. The fried mushrooms were the size of small tennis balls. The batter was light and crisp. Meatball sub was delicious as were the onion rings. Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere inside. Their pizza is ah-mazing! The kind of crust where you don't leave a crumb behind. They make their own bread for their subs too. So good! I highly recommend Ricky's salad as well. This is a friendly quaint neighborhood bar in Erie Michigan. They used to be known for their frog legs and I hear they're coming back next week. Now they're taking a stab at the good old pizza and the pizza that my wife and I had was really good. As a matter of fact it was slightly (in our opinion) better than Village Pizzeria in Temperance. Don't get me wrong Village Pizzeria is still a very good pizza we just think this one is a bit better for our taste. Drink prices are reasonable and the Frog theme of the bar is cool. Nice outdoor patio... to boot. Don't say to Rikki, the owner/ bartender... " Rikki Don't Lose That Number" while you are trying to give her your phone number..... she's heard it a million times. LOL. I've had pizza from all over including Chicago deep dish pizza and all sorts of other varieties. I am amazed at the quality and taste of the pizza from the Frog Leg Inn in Erie Michigan. Like many small restaurants, the outside of the building is nothing to look at. Because of the Covid lockdown in Michigan we could not go into the restaurant. However, the pizza here is amazing. I first tried it because someone was kind enough to donate 19 of their pizzas to the Hospital where I work. I couldn't believe how good it was. I thought maybe they did something extra to make it taste like that, because of being donated. So the wife and I decided to take the trip to Erie, Michigan and get a couple of pies. OMG these were even better. I ordered a side of wings and these were outstanding. I can hardly wait to be able to stop in and try some other items on the menu. read more

It's not the nice Italian bistro of the former owner. There is no fine cuisine. I was excited to see it open but was sadly disappointed. The frog legs were under cooked. The online menu wasn't the same. The atmosphere wasn't Italian bistro anymore. It's more like a sports den with big screen tv's and pizza. So if you're a beer drinker and pizza eater, this is the place. If you want a fine cuisine dinner that's cooked, this ain't the place! read more

What a nice little place. They don't have a huge menu but what they do have is done very well. The pizza was awesome and loaded with toppings. The onion rings were handmade. We were also told all of the appetizer stuff is homemade, including bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers and deep fried mushrooms, except for the mozzarella sticks. The waitress was very attentive and very friendly. It was Friday night so they also had a band come in. Will definitely be visiting again soon. read more

All the food has lots of flavor and very fresh. We ordered the Everything Salad with the poppy dressing which was delightful. The hand breaded onion rings and mushrooms with homemade sauce on the side were very good. The taco pizza was outstanding. Everything is reasonably priced. Friendly, comfortable atmosphere. I've given this place 4 different chances. It's getting better but has a way to go. My last trip there I ordered 3 pizzas to go and all 3 had issues of some sort. I ordered 3 three item pizza to go and when I got home one only had 2 of the items I ordered on it and the other two had the correct items but some slices had piles of the items on maybe half the pizza. I paid what I consider top price for pizza and I shouldn't have to redistribute the toppings on the pizza so every slice has the goods on all the slices. It's thumbs down for now. read more

Disappointed when I expected to enjoy a frog leg dinner, but they didn't offer them, only a plate of frog legs as an appetizer. The new owner is going to have a hard time making it without offering more frog leg options. She wants to turn it into a pizza/sports bar, then she needs to change the name. This is a great pizza place. It looks like a "hole-in-the-wall" kind of place, but they use quality, fresh ingredients. Great for dining in or carry out. If you're in the Toledo or Monroe areas, it's worth the trip! read more
