We were disappointed in our breakfast. The portions were small for what we paid. The waffle tasted good but was not crunchy on the outside and wasn't really hot. The sourdough toast was tasty but barely toasted and not hot. The French toast was most disappointing. The marcapone was a big cold blob on top of 1 of the 2 small pieces of French toast and again....not hot. The bacon was good...but also not hot. We have picky eaters in our family and were able to find something that will suit every taste bud of our family of 5. 3 of us chose one of the rice bowl and my husband had the teriyaki chicken portobello sandwich. One of my favorite spots in all of Red Bluff! Everything on their menu is delicious; soups, salads, sandwiches, it's all great! It's got the vibe of Panera Bread (but much nicer) with a variety of food options, pastries and coffee. But they also have beer and wine and host paint night. My mom and I did a glow in the dark jelly fish canvas and it was surprisingly fun. I also love that they have a few different options for sides, instead of just the usual fries or chips. If you need lunch on the way to or from Lassen, you won't be disappointed. The portions were a good size, I got a bowl and added a cup of soup, and I probably would have been okay with just the bowl. The barista was maybe the friendliest person I have ever met, and even made me a free mini-sized specialty coffee while we were chatting. The coffee was surprisingly pretty good! I wasn't the biggest fan of the food however because it was VERY greasy (so much so that the bread on my sandwich was soggy). I would stop here again though and just ask that they use absolutely no butter or grease in their food when cooking it. Ive always loved the salads at From the Hearth and was passing through Red Bluff and ordered a Cobb Salad with no bleu cheese and and feta however they covered the whole salad with so much feta you could not see the lettuce.
