I hired this company back in July 2021 to assist me with moving out some old furniture before I relocated out of Long Beach. Only one of the Lima brothers showed up but he did an amazing job hauling all of the furniture out single-handedly. During the job, my husband and I talked to him about business, life and family. I was so impressed that when my mother had to move this past Sunday, I contacted the Lima Brothers once again. They gave me an amazing quote. I explained that my mom is 85 years old and I really needed someone that I could trust. I confirmed with Daniel Lima on Friday and he said they had us down for Sunday and we were good to go. We scheduled for Sunday morning between 8-9 a.m. At 9:20 a.m. I sent the Lima Brothers a text message and asked for their ETA. No response but I could see the message was delivered. At 9:36 a.m. I sent another message and asked if everything was ok. I stated that if I didn't hear from them by 10 a.m. I would have to start looking for another company. I called the number I had been calling and it went to voicemail. I called again and left a voicemail. I sent a final text at at about 10:30 a.m. These people stood me up on the day of the move. Who does that? I did not receive a call from them the entire day. At first, I thought maybe there was an emergency and I expected they would call and apologize. 24 hours later, I have heard nothing from them. My husband called them today from his cellphone and low and behold, a child answered. My husband asked to speak to Daniel or Douglas Lima. The child hung up on my husband. So now we are playing games? You stand me up on a move the day of the move for my 85 year old disabled mother and you can't even just call and say I'm sorry or there was an emergency. Sorry to say but my husband called back and didn't get the child but his call went straight to voicemail. My husband let them have it. Then less than 10 minutes later, then someone from their number wants to call. At this point, I don't even want to hear it. I have zero respect for you and your business tactics. This is the most unprofessional handling of business that I have ever experienced. I hired this company because they are from the community and I want to help BIPOC businesses. I hope that this display is not representative of their normal course of business. I am truly disappointed. They have yet to call and even apologize. I can not in good conscious recommend them to any one. This however will not stop me from hiring and supporting BIPOC business in the community. read more
