Just another 5 star review for this wonderful breakfast/ lunch spot that is CONSISTENTLY great and fresh every time. Their coffee is Beacon local roasters and delicious. Their service is always patient and friendly. The food is the star of the show. Fresh poached eggs, delicious thick cut bacon, farm fresh veggies on their avocado toast and kale salad, fresh baked goods, wonderful weekly specials ( check their socials). It's a super cute spot with a tropical Australian twist. Came here on a Sunday early afternoon and were told a wait was around 15 mins, it was closer to 30 mins. Once seated don't be like an idiot like my friend and I. You have to go to the counter and out in your order first. We got a iced honey latte, hot matcha latte, Fresh Aussie, Miso Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Toasted Banana Bread, and a side of smashed Yukon gold potatoes. The iced honey latte was delicious but the hot matcha latte was a miss. I was drinking mainly flavorless foam even though I added honey to it. The Fresh Aussie was decent, hard to eat but it was nonetheless good. Depends if you're trying to build a sandwich or not. The Miso Chicken Katsu Sandwich was huge! My friend enjoyed it but she only finished half so it's a hefty sandwich. The toasted banana bread was amazing especially with the salted brown butter cream cheese spread. Overpriced. Very slow service and an overall klunky experience. The aesthetic is lovely but I've been here twice and both times it's been a bit strange. You have to wait for a table but then you order at the counter. I think the staff are undertrained and could benefit from some guidance and management. No sense of urgency. When they got our order wrong they didn't apologize and took forever to replace it. Not good. The food is ok. The cookies are great and they have a decent wine selection. The ambience is so dang cute and the food is incredibleeeee. I came here with my mom this weekend and we absolutely loved it. Seemed like we came at the perfect time, around 11:45 (between the breakfast and lunch rush). The cappuccinos were adorable and delicious. They came out before our meal and were perfect to sip on. I had the full Aussie breakfast and my mom had the breakfast sandwich (can't remember the exact name). I got my eggs poached and bacon with my meal. Cute spot, 3rd time here. Usually stop here when I'm in Ventura but today was the worst experience by far. Came in and there was a 15 min wait quoted by the hostess, and then asked if the bar was first come first serve and she said "yes, if you can find a seat, you're more than welcome." So, we ordered our food and when we tried to sit at the bar, and asked the nice Latina lady, she said "I'm pretty sure you can but let me ask just in case" and when she asked the pig tail gal, she said "no". Mind you, the restaurant was clearing out and the bar was completely empty but she insisted each table is accounted for and totally dismissed our request. Just to be clear, we were passing through Ventura just to get a quick bite and we ended up sitting at the stools by the water and bar area. Spur of the moment experience. A fortunate happenstance. I'll start with the entry, unbeknownst to me, You have to order at the counter (I waited for a waitress/ waiter). After realizing you have to order at the front, we placed our orders... the time was 11:25 am on a Friday. I started with the cappuccino, my wife the chai latte, beautifully presented, delicious flavor. For the entrées I ordered the lemongrass beef bowl, my wife the "fresh Aussie". The lemongrass beef bowl was honestly sublime, way, way better than I expected. The flavors married together to create a delightful experience, The presentation was clean and colorful. My wife had the Aussie and stated that her meal was delicious and nutritionally a wonder, the tomato was baked just right, no seeds, No lechtin for optimal gut health. She stated we will definitely return to this wonderful cafe to continue to sample the dishes, to people watch (from celebrities (Mrs Incredibile) to beach bums/ surfers and businesses people). I've been following Frontside Cafe on Instagram (@frontside_cafe) for a while and finally got to go a month ago. We went on a Saturday late morning and when we arrived there was a bit of a wait time. The hostess was nice to offer us water while we waited. Though recommend showing up early or expect to wait a bit since the cafe doesn't have a lot of seating and it's a popular spot. The cafe has a bit many options to choose from and the prices were on the higher end than I am use to, but once I saw my meal I understood why. I ordered the Aussie Breakfast and my friend got the avocado toast and these dishes were one of the most aesthetically pleasing that I have seen. Everything was fresh that I had never enjoyed eating so healthy before. Recommend checking out the cafe and following them on Instagram. They sometimes have cool pop up dinners with dishes they don't normally have. read more

This places has great service. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and fresh. High quality. I have never had fruit so fresh and diverse with granola and yogurt. This was a fantastic find after looking through yelp. First off, the yukon gold smashed potatoes are to die for and I may have to drive up from LA just for these. Good breakfast potatoes are a rare find and this cafe has them. An Australian flair to the menu which was an unexpected fun find. Acai bowl had lovely fresh fruit on top and a nice granola. I ordered a carrot cake muffin which sounded delicious, even though I'm not a huge fan of carrot cake, and it was delicious!! So I wanted to get one for my mom who loves carrot cake but was unable to deliver it to her so I ate it and I'm glad I wasn't able to get it to her because it was more of a raisin muffin! Well this was a delicious Yelp find! We were visiting Ventura for the day and what a spot! Plenty of seating indoors and out, inside feels like outside because of skylights and open doors everywhere. Easily found street parking right out front. Walk up counter for ordering and delightful service to your table. The wait staff was all very pleasant and clearly happy to be there and proud of the product they put out. The food was DELICIOUS. Great portions for reasonable prices and all so so good. We got the Caesar with plenty of parmesan, pine nuts, bacon, and avocado. My husband also got an avocado toast, which he never gets, that he said was the perfect portion, beautiful, and filling. Our kids split a grilled cheese and fries with a side salad and it all got gobbled up. We also split a lemon crinkle cookie and it was cakey and chewy and delish. Located in a trendy area outside of downtown, the cafe offers an array of interesting salads , sandwiches and breakfast goodies. we stumbled on this unassuming cafe across the street from a Tesla supercharger. Their food is incredible. The flavors they put into their dishes are some of the best we've ever tasted. The ambience is also great. A locals favorite very popular. The small menu is helpful to not get too overwhelmed with picking the right thing, but may be limiting if you're in a group with varying tastes. Parking wasn't too difficult to find but it's a lot of street parking. The place is super hip and has amazing decor.
