Drove 14 miles up a really rocky Forest Service road. Rock broke the oil pan plug. Arrived in 20 minutes, got the Jeep hooked up, out and back on the road in another 20 minutes. You read that right 40 minutes from the initial phone call to freedom. So here is the quick breakdown. Jeep stuck in the mud about 7 miles out of town in Mammoth. It was stuck pretty good. Called Triple A (gold plus member) and sat around for 4 hours. Nothing! More on this part after. These people are fantastic. We were out exploring in the Jeep and got stuck, like crazy stuck in the mud. Tried using AAA cause that's why we have them is for emergencies like this. After 4 hours and no help I stumbled across Frosty 4Wheeler in an online se. They got there in 20 mins! Yeah 20! Got me out in 20! Yep the whole thing took 40 mims! They are not the cheapest or most expensive, but these people give a damn and are good at what they do. I know most of my posts are about food! But this one deserves a strong shout out. Back to the AAA BS! The tow company they "sent out" did call and told me 45 minutes, then two hours, then just stopped answering calls. These guys are great. We got stuck at a place where the dirt road is on the edge of a steep decline leading down to moving water as well as trees. Opposite side of the road is a steep incline, with much melting snow and water running down the entire slope. We knew we had to call someone with experience and the right tools for the job. Any half baked attempt ran the risk of the car sliding further down, potentially resulting in a total loss of the car. Local tow services couldn't help so they recommended Frosty 4 wheelers to us and they did not disappoint. A-MA-ZINGGGGGGG. we were staying at the Mammoth Mountain Chalets, and due to lack of signs/cones to let us know where exactly to NOT DRIVE, we got stuck in the very soft snow. After hours of digging, using traction pads, waiting overnight hoping for the snow to ice over, we finally gave in and called tow companies to pull out our car. Claims he is 24 hours but he is definitely not. Needed him the most in the middle of the night stuck bad crossing a creek. Couldn't get out or we would be in the water. From 2am-7am he never picked up his phone, his girlfriend never picked up her phone, and they didn't respond to any messages. Thankfully a Good Samaritan pulled us out 6 hours later for free. Life savers!!!! My boyfriend & I went for a simple camping trip up in mammoth lakes that turned into a complete nightmare. We were stuck for 2 days calling everywhere in any direction for a tow.
