They have a couple clothing racks with just Norwegian hams knits. I bought a great long cardigan/sweater coat - hand knit wool - for just $60. All other sweaters ranged about $50-$60 which I think is a great price. The rest of the selection of other vintage items in the store I wasn't too crazy about - but I'm comparing to vintage stores in NYC and Brooklyn. Store itself is nice and clean and all merchandise is nicely organized. There's another vintage store in the area called Uff. I liked Fretex more. Bur in general both of these stores are more like thrift shops rather than true vintage.

This past Christmas was different. I ordered a sweater and paid for gift wrapping. The sweater arrived before Christmas and was of good quality. Unfortunately, the sweater was not gift wrapped. While the lack of gift wrapping was not a big deal, I had paid extra for it, so I requested a refund of the gift wrapping fee on 21 December. I was informed the company would respond within 24 hours. Ten days later, there was no response, so I sent the request again on 31 December. Ten days later, the company sent the shipping tracking number. I was not questioning the shipping; the goods had been received. For the third time over more than three weeks, I requested a refund of the gift wrapping fee. While the fee was finally refunded, I received no response from the company at all. The true measure of a company is how they respond when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, Oslo Sweater Shop has no commitment to customer service.

Before getting a piercing, the piercer will go through the procedure with you and explain the appropriate cleaning afterwards. You also get a sheet explaining how to clean it, as well as the products to use. I've been pierced by 3 different people here, and have only had good experiences. It's a bit hidden away and small, but worth checking out. I'd say the prices are reasonable (for Norwegian standards at least - might seem expensive for foreigners). I've had several friends go there as well and have great experiences. I've had five piercings done by them in total, with minimal issues (just normal healing issues). They also happily check your piercings to see that they're healing fine! I've become a regular and get my jewelry changed at no fee (this level of costumer service isn't all that common in Norway - take it from a Norwegian/American). They're all incredibly friendly people and I've never experienced them as annoyed at me for asking a question or anything similar. They also have a wide variety of jewelry, including jewelry for stretched ears, and regular accessories. They tend to have some beads for BCRs and tongue rings on sale, in addition to their already huge selection. There's jewelry for anybody and everybody, that's for sure. It's probably the biggest selection I've seen so far. I'd say the only con is that, as mentioned, it's small and there's usually only one person working there. Thus, it can get cramped on Saturdays when everyone wants to drop in. You may end up having to wait for some time before you're tended to. My tip is to call ahead and schedule an appointment, preferably during the week, and you can avoid the rush. Overall, Safari is the only place I go to to get pierced, and I've seriously missed it after moving overseas. They deserve 10 stars :)

The proprietor was so friendly, and she was curious about where I was from since I was speaking english. I told her Seattle and she thought that was cool. She also showed this interest in a young couple that came in a little after me... they too were from Seattle and had just moved here like me! The gal exclaimed this was definitely meant to be! And I agree! Anyway, I ordered the Varm Sjokolade (hot chocolate) I can easily say it's the best I've ever had. It was a huge cup meant for slow sipping while browsing the cool vintage items displayed for sale. I enjoyed my time at Retrolykke Kaffebar. It was so good, so cozy, and so friendly it can easily be a regular stop for me.
