I'd like to start with the fact that I'm extremely happy I brought my piece in to these guys. They were very professional, helped me along the way with any adjustments I wanted to make, and in a timely fashion were able to deliver a beautiful final product, which I was overwhelmingly pleased with. I would like to add that I notice many people find professional framing expensive. I'm not here to teach the public about the nuances of skilled trades, but that's what professional framing is: a skilled trade. In order for these guys to do their job properly, they had to invest tens of thousands of dollars (on the low end) into equipment and training to deliver fantastic results for their clients. Not only would the average person never invest this amount of money into tools, but the average person, even with the tools, would never get close to the results professionals, like the ones in this shop, are able to achieve. I professionally did very high-end finish woodworking for years, and I can personally attest to this fact. As someone who already owned many of the necessary tools, and could have produced a sub-par result on my own, I still brought it in to the professionals. Why? Simple - I could not have produced their results. I want to know my piece is preserved and finished properly, so I can enjoy it long into the future. Their process is complicated, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing the job was done properly is priceless. I can now enjoy my beautiful print for the rest of my life. TL;DR: I'm happy I used this shop. It was worth every penny. If you decide to use them, you'll be happy, too. read more

Frugal Framer - Framed cross stitch piece - Saint George, Utah

Horrible Customer Service!!! I had two pictures framed and was unhappy with the glare. Took them back and they were unable to find the invoice to see if I had paid for non glare glass. The owner told me to bring them back and she would change it out at no charge. Wanted me to be Happy! Brought them in and low and behold they located the invoice and it was written up that it was regular glass. Do they wanted another $200 plus to change it to no glare. That would be a total cost of about $450 for two 12x14 frames. Upon locating the missing invoice they could have had the courtesy to call me before I drove over. Talk about gouging your customers. I recommend you go to Michael's for your Custom Framing. It's more than half the cost. read more

I have to agree that "Frugal" is a misnomer -very expensive and the same cost as Aaron Brothers or Michaels. I was given an approximate completion date, but after waiting several weeks, I hadn't heard anything. So, I called and was told it had been ready, but no one bothered to notify me. I was told immediately how much I owed but no apology about the lack of communication. I like to patronize the smaller shops and support small businesses but Frugal Framer needs to improve on their customer service if they want to continue competing with other, more competitively priced stores/services. read more

I brought a piece of art with a separate handmade frame to Bobbi to put together. The art was from my childhood, and the frame was built by my brother. Special family pieces! She was able to put everything together beautifully and fixed the frame as well. It came out better than expected! And, the cost was so incredibly reasonable. The best part is that I needed everything back within a few days as my brother was coming to visit and I wanted it finished. She got it exactly right within the amount of time I needed! The new owner, Bobbi Oliver, is amazing and very professional! We moved to Saint George and needed to reframe several pictures, oils and art to match the new house. Not only did she spend time with us to help with the normal color and matting, but she listened to our needs so our choices matched our decor and enhanced the colors in the art. Pricing was very reasonable in our option. We highly recommend Frugal Framer now that Bobbi is the owner and we will be going back to complete the rest of our travel art and family photos. read more

I went in to have a mat opening cut a bit larger that I had from the previous owner. The new owner, Bobi, was so helpful and friendly. She cut the mat for me on the spot because she had time that day, which I really appreciated so I could finish my project and get it on the wall. She is going to offer a new array of products and price points, which I think will be a great choice for this area. I will be returning to her for future projects. She understands that more expensive pieces of art deserve the high quality materials, while some less expensive pieces should have more affordable options to frame and enjoy. I had an emergency framing repair for a home showing. I explained my predicament and the gentleman immediately agreed to repair the frame. He had the frame fixed in 10 minutes while I waited. Excellent service and he charged me next to nothing. Thank you Frugal Framer!! read more
