Ready to order and leaning towards a big, juicy burger but the manager and waiter both ranted and raved about their special, The wild Atlantic Salmon on a fresh salad. I desperately wanted to give the salmon a 5 Star, but when you enjoy the salad more than the salmon then you know something isn't quite right with the fish. #undercooked. I had to send it back to cook longer. I really was gonna get a burger. A bit disappointed but you can't win em all. Still enjoyed the meal though and service was friendly and they were apologetic.. And that goes a long way with me.

They'll happily tell you which are the local fish and which aren't. But the seafood I've had here (blue eye with lemon sauce, or garlic and chili king prawns) has always been flavourful and abundant. It's not cheap. The wines by the glass are pretty awful. The decor is a bit cheap. And if you don't like seafood there's only 1 or 2 other dishes. But really quite decent for a seafood feed. Especially if you're staying at the Grand Pacific hotel, which is right across the street.

Along with the seafood, we were bestowed upon a plethora of fries that surprisingly enough- we finished! The batter was good but a bit soggy after it had been hanging out with the fish too long. The highlight was definitely the fried scallops that we had. Wish we could have had more of these juicy suckers! While it's a bit pricey, Salty Dog delivered and we were better off with it on the rest of our Australian road trip. If you're craving sushi and driving through the town - i would highly recommend umisango. Wish they were serving the matcha soft serve though. I agree the portions were a little on the smaller side, but the food was good and the service was great! We had a friendly server, who came out and checked on us often.
