It's been awhile since we had dimsum. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and it wasn't busy. We were seated immediately and were asked if we wanted some tea. Not even a minute later, one cart later came and asked if we wanted some of the food she was serving. We didn't take any since she had mostly dessert items. We then saw shrimp rice roll so we got two of those and asked for one pork rice roll. The waiter who helped us asked what else we wanted and we said ha kao. There wasn't much dimsum carts at that time which kind of sucks 'cause we wanted to try different things. There was only 1 dimsum cart after 20 minutes but she didn't stop to ask us if we wanted anything. So we had to order our food separately. The server who helped us was really good! She was the only one who was very attentive. 5 stars for her! What kind of sucks is that they charge you for seats, it's about $.95 for one person. We haven't had a terrible experience so no complaints. Wouldn't mind coming back here. read more

No it's not racial discrimination. Many Chinese restaurants I been to have a hard time finding good help. It's a damn shame. Majority of workers being Chinese are making owners close their shop. They want their tip and over priced bill. Sad for owners to lose out on customers willing to enjoy Chinese food and their chef and servers are pinching Americans willing to eat there. They just sucking on the customers that come in playin the numbers games. Panda Express is almost better than this. This is a supposedly upscale authentic Cantonese restaurant. More like made in Taiwan not hong kongnese, 15% is so they can half-ass make the food, give poor service. But it does work both ways. This restaurant seems weird to me. It is way larger in the inside, than how it looks from the defunct strip it is in. It is also well decorated in old school Chinese banquet motif, that I'm sure lots of business meals happened here, or just special occasion Asian outings. Twice I've been here, the majority of the tables occupied were the large, round ones. But it also seems to be a case, where a once busy restaurant is now on it's down slide, whether it is due to increased competition or simply lasting longer than public interest warrants. Menu doesn't easily read well. Lots of specials, that may or may not be available. I just ask what is on "special", and go from there. I usually try and get something from the tank, but bring some mouths and some moolah, cuz live seafood can feed a lot and can be very pricey. The lobsters I saw in their tanks up front were some of the biggest critters I've ever seen, well over 3 lbs and wouldn't be surprised if they were closer to 5. First visit here, we tried a banquet meal that feeds 6 for around $240 with tax and tip included. It was around 8-10 dishes, so it was a lot of food. They also had to sub out what was out, because we ordered this on the spot, and didn't give them time to set it up. The subs were fine, such as duck instead of the listed squab, and a lobster dish, instead of crab. Of the 8 dishes that rolled through 4 were good. 3 were great to outstanding. 1 was a complete mess and shouldn't have been served. The good dishes were the roast duck, where they separated the meat from the skin and served it with perfectly soft baos. The geoduck and scallop dish was spot on, but a little too corn starched. And of course the lobster didn't disappoint, yum-city! The bad dish was a steamed whole fish, which I usually totally love. But here it wasn't no live fish from a tank. It was so past it's prime, that the meat was totally mushy. After a quick sample, I suggested for nobody to touch it. Another visit we just ordered 4 items a la carte, to see another angle of their kitchen's execution. Was sold on a live geoduck that was around $60 but it was to be served 2 ways. The nozzle was to be sliced thin for sashimi, while the body was going to chunked up for soup. Both really good and could easily be shared amongst 4 peeps. The sashimi was really nicely cut and presented. Very crisp and chewy. You actually have to be into this texture to like this dish. The flavor was a tad briny and had a hint of melon/cucumber, which is inherent in the animal. Very good with a squeeze of lemon, and a little wasabi-soy. The soup was real simple with it tasting like chicken broth and large cubed tofu. I love this combo, so this worked for me big time. Tender tofu and chewy clams, very yin and yang. Also tried a Roasted Beef Rib ($26) dish, because you just don't see this too often on Chinese/Cantonese menus. It seemed like a total western dish, just done in eastern fashion. Straight up roasted beef served with an au jus. All the meat is pulled off the bone and sliced. Great beef flavor but the sliced meat was a bit erratic with some pieces being fine while others looked gnarly (gristlier section). But this was still pretty decent especially with their mushroom and tender green dish. I think I would totally come back, mostly due to the ease of getting a seat here. My other local Cantonese spot is a lot smaller, thus way harder to get in, but the food is outstanding there. Here I just have to eventually develop a trusting relationship with the server, and have them not pawn anything iffy to us. It's been a while since I've left a less than satisfactory review here on Yelp. I try not to get too hung up on seeing the negative because life is really what you make of it. So, let's walk through why this place is receiving a measly two stars. I've dined here more times than I care to remember now. Not because the food or service is fantastic, but mostly because they're open fairly late (for Fremont). But today is Mother's Day. And even though this is a Chinese restaurant, we made reservations. I assume that they normally honor their reservations. It was a different story today. Most of our party (8/10) had arrived 10 minutes before our reserved time (11 am). When we checked in, we were told that we had reservations, but that seating that day was first come, first serve. So why would you even bother taking reservations today? When we called me make it, we should've been told that since it's an especially busy holiday, they don't take reservations. It could've been that simple. But it wasn't. We were upset and talked amongst ourselves to figure out what to do. We wanted to see how long the wait was so that we could choose to wait or go somewhere else. The man at the counter had the nerve to say that we shouldn't be upset. Really??? Because you basically lied to us to get us down there. Why would I have 90 year old grandma and an almost 2 year old wait to eat? Everyone is hungry and people get fussy. Plus, if I wanted to wait an hour for dim sum, I wouldn't be doing so at Fu Lam Moon. Lastly, don't count on me coming back here again. I don't often crave greasy Chinese food, so it's not as if you'll miss me. But it's fine because that's a two way street. Also, yes I did post the conditional pass sign posted right by the front door. This means that they need to get their health code and food handling up to standard or they'll be shut down. I've had a tough and Eventful Childhood, but If there's one thing I remember during my childhood, it was my experiences at Fu Lam Moon. Their healthy and nutritious food was probably the reason why I was able to grow four inches in a year. From their delicious steaming Dim Sum Plates for Lunch to their Succulent Eggplant and green onion stir Fry for an unforgettable late night snack, Fu Lam Moon is by far impeccable when it comes to criticism. The only negative thing I could remember was the time when I forgot to wash my hands with enough water, so my Lai Wang Bao (Chinese Bun filled with Delicious Golden Sweet Custard Filling, the kind they only serve at Fu Lam Moon) tasted a little soapy. I'm not going to complain though, I was only ten years old then. Now I am 19 years old and I still crave Fu Lam Moon on an Hourly Bases. I've tried many other Dim Sum Places around the Bay area (ABC Seafood Restaurant in Milpitas, Good Luck Dim Sum in San Francisco, Mayflower in San Jose) and none of them I remember anything about. Sure the lights are bright inside, and their waiters push metal tin clad carts around (During Dim Sum), but is that really worth giving up an Aston Martin for? (Or for you girls, true Religion Jeans =]). At Fu Lam Moon they make sure their lights are Bright enough to observe the beauty of the food and waiters/waitresses. Before Dim Sum they make sure they grease the bottom of their Dim Sum Carts, the demand on those poor wheels to make sharp turns and quick beautiful service is not easy. If you like to Smile, Laugh, and Have "Kodak Picture" moments that you will remember until your Dying Days, I would not hesitate to say Fu Lam Moon is the place to be. What happened Fu Lam Moon? This used to be my go-to dimsum spot. The food is fresh and tasty, staff is nice (for the most part), and the restaurant is fairly clean and spacious. I took a 6-month or so hiatus, but when I recently returned, all of that changed. The first thing that surprised me was that it was empty inside. Usually it's poppin, especially on the weekends, but when my party and I arrived it was not busy at all. It was nice though since we didn't have to wait to be seated. My party and I got a few plates from the carts, but you could immediately tell that some of the food was not fresh. In particular, the dumplings and rice noodle rolls were dried out and hard. Not appetizing at all. We then ordered some fresh seafood items from the menu, but when it arrived it was still raw. We had to send it back. Review is for dimsum. The dimsum here is pretty standard run of the mill fare. There was barely anyone here on Sunday morning which wasn't a great sign, and we had to wait a while before carts started showing up with any frequency. 糯米鸡/no mai gai was very tasty, filling had a piece of sausage and some salted egg yolk. 虾饺/ha gao seemed like it had been steaming too long. Wrappers fell apart and the shrimp lacked that juiciness I was looking for. Chicken feet and turnip cake were pretty standard. We dined here and we're surprised to see that the owners? (Who were also the wait staff) sitting in the corner of the restaurant with their dog. Dog kept barking and we noticed that the wait staff/owners kept petting their dog to keep it quiet. When it came time to serve our food, they didn't bother washing their hands first. This has got to be a health code issue. Looks like they don't know that pets are not allowed in restaurants unless kept in an outdoor patio. This place sucks...the food is not good and it's too expensive! $18 bucks for some deep fry tofu cubes! Mongolian beef tastes like rubber with all kinds of cuts mixed in there. I heart Fu Lam Moon! My family has been dining at Fu Lam Moon for years. Its had its ups and downs, but they seem to have gotten it together and are now consistently yummy. I wish they had a wider variety of dim sum items, but they cover the most popular dishes. I was here on Sunday, January 1, 2012 (around noon) and it was PACKED. My bad, I should have known better but we only had to wait about 20 minutes. They serve fresh food, are reasonably priced, fill up my tea and water with a quickness and are friendly. My family and I left happy and full and we even got hooked up with some jello dessert thingy. You should try the Hong Kong Style pan fried noodles (combination), it is SO EFFING GOOD! read more

Fu Lam Moon Seafood Restaurant, has been a staple Chinese restaurant here in Fremont, CA. It used to be the popular Chinese Restaurant, that was always super busy here on the weekends because everyone would come for lunch to "Yum Cha" and have great Dim Sum. The restaurant itself is decent in size and can accommodate quite a lot of people here during lunch and dinner. It's big enough to host a wedding reception, party or something along those lines. Unfortunately, now with many other Chinese Restaurants here in Fremont, including the popular, Asian Pearl Seafood Restaurant, in the Pacific Commons Shopping Center, and the growing BK's Bistro in Central Fremont, this place isn't quite as it used to be. Before all the other various different other Chinese restaurants opened up here in Fremont, this used to be the place to hit for good Dim Sum, however, now the food has gone downhill since it was popular. The food isn't all quite as it used to be and it kinda shows. We went here for Dim Sum recently, and it wasn't busy much at all. We went around like 1:30 and was not quite busy. There were plenty of empty tables, and we were able to be seated right away. We also got food food pretty quickly, because it wasn't that busy, so the carts were able to come quite frequently. They even offered us 2 for 1 Dim Sum specials, meaning we got 2 orders of baked goods for the price of 1, which is pretty nice. The only reason they did that was because the place was not busy at all and they had lots of Dim Sum left still at the hour we were dining. Now they wouldn't do the Dim Sum "classics" but they were only offering baked goods, desserts, and certain other dishes. Nothing from the typical Dim Sum "classics" such as Shui Mai, Ha Gow, Sticky Rice, etc. So overall, the food is just "okay", it's nothing really special, especially since there are many new other Chinese restaurants here in Fremont. Customer Service here is certainly a hit or miss, sometimes you get good service, sometimes you get okay service and well sometimes you get really bad service. Some of the Dim Sum ladies are not quite as nice as they could be but meh what can you do. It also really helps if you can speak Chinese, that way it is certainly easier to get the specific Dim Sum you want. If you don't speak Chinese, ordering may be a problem for you, but if you do, more power to you! Parking is fine because it's in plaza that's not busy at all, it's all furniture stores and one restaurant, this one lol. So, no problems with parking, plenty of parking spaces. Oh and Fu Lam Moon offers FREE Wi-Fi, which is one touch that is nice and was a surprise. They even have 2 flat screen TV's as well to watch TV while you eat. This place just recently received a complete makeover, and it is much appreciated. The old decor was rundown and dirty, making the whole dining experience rather unpleasurable, no matter how good the food may have been. Better lighting, new flooring, painted walls, and of course, new tables and chairs are a definite improvement over the almost Chinatown-like level of griminess in the days of old. I have only visited for lunch, so I can't speak for the dinner, but I would say that the food here is equivalent to an upper mid-range dim sum establishment, which is certainly good enough to satisfy the majority of the customers' tastes. Prices are fair, at $1.80 per plate. Larger items will run you $2.50, with everything else falling in between. The one popular non-dim sum dish that probably half of the patrons order is the lobster with noodles, which is very reasonably priced at $15. This is another one of those "written in Chinese on the wall" specialties, but since so many people have it on their table, all you have to do is point, and say, "I'll have one of those, please!" Obviously the management at Fu Lam Moon must have paid attention on the first day of Restauranteering 101 because they are very familiar with the first rule of the book --- hire enthusiastic, young girls. I know many of you are sick of going to dim sum joints, only to be served by old "see lai" with zero customer service skills. Well, no need to worry about that here, as the waitresses are bubbly, attentive, and oh-so-cute in their traditional Chinese cheung saam looking outfits. They are more than helpful, and will go out of their way to bring you requested items, even if they are not on the cart presently being pushed. The wait can be somewhat long on the weekends, but nothing unbearable. There is plenty of space to move around, especially with the large parking lot. Also, unlike most restaurants with fish tanks, instead of hiding them in the back where no one can see, Fu Lam Moon props them right up front, providing some great entertainment for young and old alike. If you are looking for classier (pricier) dim sum joints in the area, there are other choices such as Mayflower (2), ABC, and Royal Garden, but if your only requirement is good food, low prices, and a decent atmosphere, Fu Lam Moon is your spot. read more

It is my first time coming here. Initially I wanted to go to Sizzling Lunch but their line was long and friends said just try Fu Lam Moon. Food was ok, portion is small and quite expensive. We ordered a stir pea sprouts and it was very small and $25. Before we ordered the manager warn us about the price already. The fried rice was $17 and portion was so small. I mean come on it's just rice and egg. We were about to order the pork and century egg congee and manger told us that we would need 2 bowls for us 4 adults, 4 kids and it is $16 each bowl. Soooo.. came here for our Thanksgiving LUNCH. Yes, we decided to do it straight up ASIAN style(: As we pulled up, some other guy pulled up next to us in the parking lot. Looked like he was all in a hurry, so I was like WHAT-EV. Walk inside with a party of 4 and theres a family hanging out by the host desk, MAKING me think they were in line, talking to the hostess. Stood there patiently waiting my turn, and the guy who had pulled up next to me in the parking lot, just straight walked in front of me and in front of the family and got his ticket. So I was like, okay, one, RUDE, second, what the fuck? So I asked the family in front of me, "Excuse me. Are you in line?" Ignored. Louder. "ARE YOU IN LINE?!" And they did what a typical Asian does, starting waving their hands, "No! No! No!" Sheesh, uhhh, THANKS?! Got my number stub, said it was going to be a 5 minute wait. It was about 5-10minutes of wait time. Not bad. Place was kind of small. Ladies were walking around with trays held in their arms with the dim sum on the trays. That's how small this place is, can't barely fit a cart through all the tables smooshed together. The dim sum was ALRIGHT. Not all that great. And it took us about 30minutes to get an order of Chicken Feet. REALLY?! And every single chicken feet FELL apart cause it was OVERCOOKED. Uggh, never going to this place again. AND, I didn't even leave a tip. I'm not cheap, but tips are meant for deserving businesses who really work their ass to provide excellent customer service with quality products. I didn't get dim sum. I went with my favorite eating partner, mom and we ordered: - Lobster Mein (noodle) - Oyster with bean curd - da do miao (just write this down and they'll know what you're talking about) - Mango pudding The service was painfully slow. However, I was able to get a good look and almost salivated on HUGEEEEEEEEEE plates of seafood emerging from the kitchen. Each dish could feed at least 4 people. I bet those servers are rocking some seriously buff biceps. Anyway - the special dish, written in Chinese on the wall is the lobster noodles. Apparently, a 1 pound ish (WTF) lobster @ lunch is around 13.99, add 3.00 for noodles. For dinner, it was more expensive, but honestly, it's still pennies compared to Crustacean or any other foo foo place in SF. I seriously wonder what their margins are...maybe they are cultivating genetically enhanced seafood??!??! The oyster & bean curd had, I swear, more oyster than bean curd. At $9.95, I am beginning to seriously wonder where they get this stuff from. The da do miao can be described as a very green veggie with small leaves and tons of garlic. No, it's not THAT green garlicky veggie dish...it's special. Word on street (aka my mom) is that this can only be cooked in restaurants because you need to a huge ass pan to "flash" cook it. Da = big in chinese. My makes the regular version as home and it's the bomb. Anyway, get it, you'll thank me. But AVOID if you're on a date as this stuff gets in your teeth and the garlic will leave your breathe stanky. Actually, avoid in general if you're on a date. This is NOT a place with great ambiance. However, for your family reunion, there is nothing better. I had to lap around the block a few times in order to make room for the mango pudding. I have never had anything better. Do it. Our bill was less than $60 and that's with lobster & oysters, people. Makes me realize how overrated and overpriced R&G Lounge is. PS. Bring cash as they take cc for over $30 only. PPS. We had a party of 10 people for a Friday night dinner and got a table right away even though it was getting crowded. Service was ok. The food came out really fast one after another. My favorite dish was the Geoduck clam that was fried and another that was just cooked with vegetables and these big steamed prawns. There was also this noodle dish, veggies, fish, vegetable and meat soup, and red bean soup for dessert. We got the family package that came out to a total of $290 without tip. I think their Dim Sum isn't as good as Mayflower or Asian Pearl. But I think their prices are great. The wait isn't as bad as the other dim sum restaurants in the area. When we have a large group, we usually come here because the prices are fair and they do a good job handling a large group. The service is fast. The people pushing the carts seem to try to get to all the tables. I would give them 2.5 stars. But I'm rounding up to 3 because my family wanted to go to dim sum while I was on a gluten elimination diet and my cousin was also on a specific diet. My mom asked the waiter to make a stir fry with vegetables and chicken, without soy sauce. They were a bit confused at first but they were able to make this request for us. read more

This is as average as average Dim Dum gets. Service is also as typical of Asian establishments. Unless you're a regular and/or a relative, no one cares about you. We've been here a handful of times and each time the experience is about the same. It's always the same few people working as well. The last time we came here was during Mother's Day. Originally we were trying to eat somewhere else, but the wait was too long. We got here around 2pm and it was empty. It was the awkward time in between lunch and dinner so if you wanted dim sum, you had to order it from a waiter (normally they have people pushing carts or carrying it around on trays). We ordered the lobster noodle and about 7 or 8 dim sums. The lobster noodles come out along with 3 dim sums. That's it. We are a party of 6 in a mostly empty restaurant with only 4 plates of food. We sit there for 20ish mins while the table behind us gets TRAY after TRAY of food. It's so much food that they had to stack dishes on top of dishes like a mountain. Here's the part that gets frustrating. We finally managed to flag down a waiter to check on the rest of the dim sum and it turns out that they got the tables mixed up and sent our dim sum to the table behind us. No biggie. We can wait some more. BUT the waiter comes back and tells us that they ran out of ALL the dim sum we ordered. Also, we never received an apology and awkwardly enough when we asked them to check on the dim sum, their first comments was to blame us. Like we ate the dim sum and was hiding it bc the lady swore up and down that she brought it out to the table. Thought this was a sister restaurant to Fu Lam Mum in Mountain View, but it was more like an evil step-sister restaurant that could not compare. Dim sum was salty and cold. There also was a little pet? dog in the restaurant that belonged to one of the workers. Yes, it was kept in a far corner table away from the customers, but to bring a yappy little dog to the restaurant was a) annoying and b) unsanitary. I'm usually a fan of chicken feet (whatever..go ahead and judge me!) but they weren't very good here. Not a fan, sorry! read more

What I ate: Assorted dim sum. Visit date: January 1, 2013 First time? Yes. Nothing like a dim sum brunch to welcome in the new year. This place gets crowded: We arrived 40 minutes after opening and were seated right away. Minutes later there was a large crowd waiting at the door. Plan accordingly, especially if you've got a larger (than 4) group. When we walked into the restaurant, I actually thought we walked into a seafood market. The tanks of ready to catch/kill/cook fish greet you at the door. I thought, "oh boy, if this is what the entrance looks like, what does the inside look like." To my surprise it was pleasantly clean. On to food. Nothing was super stellar, but nothing was too weird either. Actually, there were some items here that I've never had/seen before at other dim sum restaurants. The shrimp with fried wonton-like strips (definitely recommend!) and the shrimp on a sugar cane stick, for example. I enjoyed everything we ordered. Particularly, their steamed pork buns stood out. The steamed bready part had a hint of sweet. I could nibble on that all day. If dim sum scares you because you don't know what's in them half (or more) of the time, not to worry. my wedding banquet dinner was here like 6 yrs ago. Pretty good then. Dim sum sucked the last few times I went. Update 2/19/07: dim sum is a bit better, mom said they have new owners but I don't really know. We had chicken feet-not very good. Brown and not very tender. I like the red colored kind and lots of black beans which they didn't have. Shrimp rice crepe-really yummy. BBQ Pork rice crepe-good. char siu sou-baked flaky rectangle thing w/ bbq pork in it was yummy. pan-fried chive dumplings-yummy. steamed sweet custard bun-pretty good. Taro cake just ok. Mom paid so don't know the final bill. I'd go back again but not in a hurry-have food coma. Bathrooms-separate men and women. So you've got to realize that this isn't a restaurant for fine dining - it's a place to get legitimate dim sum at a good price. This place is typically packed on the weekends, prime dim sum-eating time. But, if you're there before 11:00 a.m. or so, you should be fine getting a table. Generally, I think this place makes pretty good "shrimp crepes" (I think that's what they call ha chern fun), sticky rice, steamed bean curd and fried taro cake. I am still on the fence with the shu mai - the mystery meat is just a little too meaty. But, otherwise, I think it's all pretty delish. Always great to order a few sides of noodles to round out the meal... It's actually even better to get take-out since you order exactly what you want...and you get it all at once. Seafood is excellent; price is very reasonable. It does not have fancy decorations, but not a hole-in-the-wall type either. In general, the food is above average. Do try their lobster sashimi, shark fin soup, and roasted squab. These are excellent. Also try their house soup; they take hours to make it. Other family style dishes are good also. read more

Located in the small Newark plaza right next to the freeway, it's definitely hidden. We arrived here after being thwarted from BJ Bistro (Line there was ridiculous). There were only a few carts going around with the same food (chicken feet, meatball, har gaw, siu mai, shark fin dumpling, etc). We decided on the meatball (a little gelatinous), siu mai (super ginormous and meaty), chiu chow dumpling (peanuty goodness), and egg puffs (fluffy sugary and not warm - sad). Overall it was mediocre. Prices were ok. $20 minimum for credit card use. I'd only go back if we're in the area and really need a dimsum fix. read more

I haven't been to this restaurant in years. I heard they changed owner so my family came here to try it out. Nope, this restaurant did not change owner, same one. Nothing have changed, but the food is pretty descent. All the food we ordered were hot and fresh, we were surprised how packed this place was when we got here around 12pm. We had to wait a little bit to get a table. But the wait was not long.Their service was not bad either, they got us our tea and food when the food cart was not walking around. So not bad, since we were expecting shitting service since most chinese restaurant are rude, and disrespectful. The dim sum were fair price, not too expensive at all. Only $2.50 each. I don't get why people give this place a bad rating. Their food is good, and their service is not bad, maybe a little renovation and this place can be a 5 stars restaurant. Reading other people's yelp review, this place probably changed a bit since they came here. Well I'll definitely come back here with my parents. Even they agree this place should be a 4 stars rating. went in for lunch and ordered 5 dishes. door was open and flies everywhere. owners or their family sat in the back and had THEIR DOG (not service animal) in the restaurant. fortunately, far away, but not up to code what so ever. found hair in one dish. another dish we did not order also came out. confronted them with this and they said "oh we gave you something else because we were out of the dish you ordered" without ever letting us know... is this real? who does this? do not go here read more

One of my favorite dim sum places in the Bay...then again I guess I don't have much to compare them to. I've had some better places in San Mateo though. I haven't been back here in 3 years, but it's still pretty good, and just like I remembered. The Shu Mai is a "special order" because they make these huge seafood shu mai and they have like little scallops or shark fin on top, with shrimp and pork inside. It's one of the plumpest shu mai I've seen and I live for shu mai at dim sum haha. I do wish their turnip cakes were freshly made like the ones I get in LA, but oh well. I like their taro/meat crispy cakes..dunno what they're called in Chinese, and the usual dim sum goodies (ha gao, he fun, luo mi ji, etc.) And you can't go wrong with the Chinese broccoli dish. We like to order the special dishes like their tofu (crispy on the outside, and super silky soft on the inside) and topped with a delicious sauce and chili slices. Oh man, this is one of my favorites. And they have this rice dish (shen chao xiang chang fan) which is basically raw-cooked sausage rice to directly translate it. It's the most flavorful fried rice and it's a special order. They won't usually go walking around with it, but if you spot it, grab it. OR just order it with the host guy and he'll put in an order to the kitchen. I love their egg-tarts...theirs are flaky layers of crust and a really soft, melt-in-you-mouth egg custard center. And their pineapple-crusted top custard buns are SO GOOD. (No, it doesn't taste like "pineapple" on top...it just looks like a pineapple texture, which is why I think they name it that). Mango pudding is standard and I'll get this occasionally. But I also like the white spongy cake (ma lai gao) ...it has a tang to it and it's chewy goodness. Small dishes are $2.20 and the special orders are around $4.50 ish or so. We had pretty good service from the host guy this weekend and it hit the spot. =) read more
