Yelp Review 2026 #148: I was excited to grab some chocolates from Fuchs especially the ones in the shape of Matterhorn so I can give them away to friends. I walked in and there was a line. I peeped the display case if there's anything else I can grab aside from chocolates. I was t really feeling the pastries and cookies so, I grabbed my chocolates and went back to my place in line. I got to the front of the line and the employee acted like she can't see me and skipped to the person behind me. So, I said "I'm just paying for the chocolates." Her response was very rude accusing me of cutting in line which I didn't do at all. So, I just loudly said "Fuch this place and left the chocolates on the counter and left. I was only getting chocolates from here for their novelty. Switzerland is never short of good chocolates. read more

I personally don't understand the hype about this place. I found it on social media and there are a couple in Zermatt. The staff wasn't particularly friendly both times I went in. The first time, I got a coffee and a savoury pastry that was honestly awful - it was meant to be ham and it was very mushy. I threw it away after two bites. The coffee was just ok. I went back a second time for another pastry (just incase it was bad luck the first time) and it was just as disappointing at the previous one. It tasted stale and some birds enjoyed most of it when I was sitting in the park. I had a much better cinnamon roll elsewhere. They did have some lovely looking Matterhorn shaped chocolates, but I didn't buy any. I would try them in the future but I wouldn't be likely to get food/coffee there again. read more

Very delicious pastries and other breakfast type foods. Sandwiches. I did get some fresh orange juice which was delicious. I recommend. There are a few stores in the area. We went to one that had nice eat in restaurant and one that you ordered at counter. Both were good. read more

A nice bakery that offers a variety of breads and sweets. Ordered some Bergfuhrerbrot to enjoy for breakfast. Moist and tasty - would recommend. The place is small but quaint; the service is good and they accept credit card. read more

Café/bakery right off the main road in Zermott. Quiet, clean, and relaxing. Small outdoor seating and small indoor shopping but well worth it. Staff is super friendly and multilingual. The seats were all full so we decided to get take away from the bakery. It was amazing! We ate some deserts while standing outside and then got more to take with us. My favorite was a slice of blue berry pie. I already want to go back and get more. read more

This is one of our daughter's favorite restaurants in Zermatt. We had four people in the group snd we all ordered cappuccino and Viannoise coffees. The coffees were all very good. I ordered the spinach pie and sausage wrapped in pastry dough. Others in our group ordered the cheese, ham and tomato crepe. I would rate my meal as a four star and the other three thought theirs was five star. That's how we arrived at five star. Service was ok considering we do not speak German and our waitress did not speak much English. read more

This place here is right in the middle of Zermatt. Sweets, bread, pastry and pies. Some tea or coffee to go with. If any of this is to your liking, then this place is a good option. Weather permitting you definitely should try to grab the (only) table outside. Sit down and watch the world go by. Perfect for people-watching. Coffee and tea are fine (really hot), but the biggest (positive) surprise was the pie. We had a slice of the Blueberry Pie. Homemade and tasty! The berries had the right balance between sweet and sour. Mostly they are too sour for our taste, but no here. A great piece of pie. A nice little place. If you got some time on your hands, you should give it a try. read more

Great atmosphere and service! We ordered the Viennese coffee and hot chocolate and both were outstanding!

So I had a good and bad experience here as a tourist. Good: Tried a true ApfelStrudel. Did you know these strudels are technically wrapped in dough? Mind blown. The filling was pretty good, the was dough-y. Bad: My mom came here in the morning and was waiting for her turn to order. There was a non asian woman standing right next to her but was obviously behind her. When it was my mom's turn to order, she stepped up to order but the employee pointed to the non asian customer next to her and was like, "no it's her turn". My mom said, "excuse me? I've been waiting here for 10min and am before her" and the employee was shocked at her response in english and apologized. I think the employee assumed that my mom didn't speak english so decided to call forward the non asian woman. I can't confirm that this is a racial thing, but this is what it seemed like when you watched what was going on. So, if you're a non european customer, i'd recommend being aware that you don't get taken advantage of. read more

Very cool and comfy place to come inside and sip some hot chocolate with rum. It's in the middle of Zermatt with the larger seating upstairs. We were looking for something to calm our appetites and warm us up. The spinach and cheese pies were thick slices that are good for sharing and great with the rum hot chocolate. The coffee we ordered in almost every café was strong and smooth, but not too tall. This was the same. A nice small café to stop in when you're walking around town. read more

so i honestly had a horrible experience here as a tourist and my first bad experience in europe and wouldn't recommend to anyone especially who isn't white to come here. i came to this place with my muslim asian mom and all she wanted was coffee, so i told her let's go and get it from this place. When we went inside they told us we had to make our own coffee so that's what my mom did, i paid for her coffee while my mom made her coffee. I notice it wasn't a full cup so i thought i had to press the button again to make it a full cup but i didn't know we couldn't do that. the worker then told me i paid for one drink and that's it and i understood her so that was no problem, but we wasn't fully done we wanted to get something else and she started to get rude to us saying "well you have to leave because i need to make coffee for the man behind you". Mind you the man behind us was a white man. I also noticed how they told us we had to make our own coffee yet she made all the other customers coffee. I then said okay but you are being soooo rude to us & we are paying customers, she tried to say she wasn't being rude but then i said so why are you being so disrespectful the way your talking isn't friendly at all and i walked out. but then she started to talk to the white man behind us right after we left speaking in german and pointing at us talking about us to the customer!!! which is sooooo wrong of her!!! so i decide to take a picture of the place and her and she got so mad and came out the store saying she was going to call the police because i took her picture when she was the one being disrespectful to us then my mom said "she took a picture of you so we can write a bad review for your place" and we walked away.... we shouldn't be treated differently just because of the color of our skin or religion, i don't know which is it but it definitely was a racial thing and i noticed how they treated the other customers differently then us, Don't go here, and be aware if you are non european they only look like they care is about money and not their customers! the women who worked there was a white lady with grey hair. read more
