Fuego Cravings, you had me at chilaquiles burrito. If you're a crunchy chilaquiles person (and I am), this place is for you -- crunchy is the default and I respect that. I ordered mine with over medium eggs and no onion, and that runny yolk situation inside a burrito? ‍ Tried the red and the green and honestly loved them both for different reasons-- don't make me choose. The young man at the register deserves a shoutout (Yancarlo?)-- genuinely great customer service, and he put us on to the chile de árbol salsa which you HAVE to ask for. Please don't leave without it. We also got coffee, customized half regular, half café de olla-- but heads up, that option is only available at the register. I didn't see it on the kiosk. My friend went for the agua fresca, cucumber limón, large -- and after our long walk it was exactly what she needed. Ordering is easy: kiosk, QR code, or just walk up. We visited on a Saturday around 9:30am and a Sunday around 11:30am, both times with different crowds, and neither wait was bad at all. That consistency means something. A few logistics: seating inside and out, parking in the back, and one gender neutral bathroom. AND, I enjoyed their playlist. Here's what I love most: this is a place that spans generations. My old school Mexican parents would feel right at home, and my hip young nieces and nephew would too. Bring your mom, bring your friends, bring the whole crew-- and support local while you're at it. While in the city of Whittier I decided to try this restaurant. From the moment we stepped inside, the employees were attentive and professional throughout my visit. It took me some time to decide what to order, as the entire menu looked appealing. I ultimately chose a birria quesadilla, a carnitas Fuego taco, and a surf and turf taco. I also ordered an Agua de Pepino. The food was outstanding--each bite was full of flavor, and the meats were delicious. Pre ordered delivery for a Sunday morning and it was all delivered right on time. Tried the Birria and the Menudo. Birria was the better tasting and better value. Because you get a lot of tasty beef. Consume is flavorful. The menudo well it's good as well just was not as plentiful as the birria. We had also ordered the guacamole sauce and it is perfection. This place is incredible! I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the amazing food, incredible service (so friendly and helpful) and the clean, welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. We stopped by recently for lunch, and were so glad we did! We both ordered the Quesabirria Special and Jarritos sodas. The Quesabirria Special comes with consommé (broth from the birria meat to dip the tacos in) and a side of chips, beans, and rice. We were also given red and green salsa (both were tasty) on the side. Both of us thought the food was very delicious, flavorful, and filling. The Jarritos were the perfect addition to our meals. We were also given a free sample of arroz con leche for dessert, which was tasty and much appreciated! The staff here were very friendly, attentive, and polite. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and felt at ease while dining. The interior of the restaurant was clean, had a relaxing atmosphere, and a good amount of places to sit. First time trying this place, it was really good. I ordered for pick up had the chicken potato taquitos and Asada shrimp burrito. They do put the shrimp hole, not chopped in the burrito. My husband had the birria burrito and said it was juicy not like some other places where the meat is dry. I do feel like the chicken and potato taquitos could've been a little bit better. This past Friday night I decided to drive in because I wanted to see what they had to offer. I am glad I did! The menu is plentiful and I concentrated on the tortas. I ordered the following: * La Milanesa * La Fuego * La Clasica w/birria * Jalapeno Poppers Wow! Outside of Mexico, these are the best tortas I have ever tasted. The bread was soft yet firm and the tortas were perfectly proportioned and not overstuffed. I didn't want too heavy a meal at 8 p.m. but the tortas were so good and filling that I ate almost two of them! The milanesa was perfection and melted in my mouth. No fat or gristle. The avocado was so savory and smooth. It was almost like a spread. La Fuego is my recommendation. Tops! The beans, onion, avocado, tomato, lettuce, onion, and milanesa blend perfectly to create a savory experience. I asked if this was spicy and I was told it is not. Diet Cokes all around because balance. Now listen. The burritos were a little light on the asada. Not "where is it?" but more like "blink and you'll miss it." Still tasty though. The green salsa could use a little extra something, maybe a kick, maybe a whisper of drama. And I would not have complained about a side of chips making a cameo on the plate. Just saying. But overall? Still happy we finally pulled the trigger and tried it. Pro tip before you go and definitely before you go back: join the rewards program with your phone. You rack up points fast. A little pricey but the portions are huge! We were able to take the rest home and have it for dinner. I really recommends the Breakfast Burrito over the Whittier Burrito. The fries I. The burritos add a nice taste in comparison to the Whittier Burrito which is very meat heavy. Besides the food, let me tell you that my favorite thing was the service! Wow! As soon as we came in, we were treated like a close friend. We let the person know it was our first time and they gave us the best recommendations in food and drinks. Place was clean and workers were great and fast with the food being delivered to our table. 3 of us (all Latino who eat homemade Mexican each week) each ordered the 3-taco plate that comes with rice, beans & drink. 1 was chorizo, the other was carnitas and mine was the birria. In all three plates the rice was a bit undercooked and crunchy, beans could have been hotter with more cheese on top but sufficed. The birria tacos were good but no consume to dip, the carnitas and chorizo were average. The drinks were extremely good and not to sweet but had great flavor. The cashiers were rude and seemed bothered to take my order. My burrito had no beans,m!!!! Just some cheese, rice and a little bit of chewy meat. Everything was sooo delicious! Another really important thing is the restaurant and bathroom were very clean and well kept. After hearing great things about this place we decided to come in and check it out. We came in on a weekend afternoon, and were greeted immediately. We were asked if it was our first visit and offered menu suggestions along with an order kiosk that had pictures of all of the menu items. This was super helpful in deciding what to order. We chose a cheese enchilada plate with birria and a modified tostada with carne asada no cheese and no sour cream. Our food was prepared to order and prepared accurately, which was very much appreciated. The flavor of everything was really good and I enjoyed the salsa they brought to the table. It was flavorful and added a bit more spice to the meal. The interior seating area was clean and there was a nice outdoor seating area as well.
