This crazy spot of pink in the middle of West Lakes shopping centre has a fantastic array of old…read morestyle and hard to find sweets, as well as bags of lollies at great prices. They specialise in imported sweets, like Hersheys, Yorkie and Reeses Pieces, as well as imported soft drinks. They have the largest range of Pop Tarts I've ever laid eyes on, including flavours like "choc fudge", "cookies and cream", "s'mores" and "ice creme sandwich." They also sell fresh fudge at $3.95 per 100gram blocks. Mmmm, fudge. This place is a child's dream and a mother's worst nightmare. You can get a sugar-high just thinking about all the things you'd buy if you had the money, weighed 20 kilos less and knew it wouldn't give you a headache. One little favourite of mine is the gob-stopper, an enormous ball of sugar on a stick in wacky colours, for only $1.50! Pity any of my friends with children would hate me for giving them these, though the reactions on both sides would probably be worth it. The fresh meat is trimmed, dressed and beautifully presented, the continental smallgoods are made to perfection and are hanging and sitting around everywhere saying eat me. Viennas, Kranski, Pepperoni, Kasler, Lackschniken, Liverwurst, Bratwurst and the list goes on. It's one of those places you become passionate about food and want a piece of everything. Bratwurst is an excellent substitute to the BBQed sausage in bread and once you've tried it, you'll never bother going back. Rarely do I get indigestion with any of their smallgoods, but a normal sausage from the supermarket or other butcher I have to whip out the Quickeaze. The shop also has various pickled items, bread, eggs, cheese, noodles, biscuits, cakes and so much more. If this was the only food people ever knew existed, they would be happy and satisfied with what they had. The great thing about the store is it is spacious and there is a lot of staff working so there is minimal waiting time. They sell all different kinds of meat from different cuts and with variations of marinades and sauces. They also do great specials where they have a 'BBQ Special' and a 'Red Hot Special' which helps you get the best value from their top quality produce.

Ann's Health Foods is a great shop for all aspects of healthy living. Ann sells organic packaged…read morefoods, like flour and grains and pasta, as well as many gluten free products. Her range of juices is large and rather exotic, as well as the fridge range of vegan friendly foods, like sprouted spelt. The other half of the shop holds a standard range of herbal health care, and though the selection isn't as large as some shops, it has been very well chosen to include all the important herbs by well-priced brands. This is one of the few shops where I can find Olive Leaf, which is a great herb for colds, so I visit here regularly, and often come home with a bag of nuts or healthy munchies or some nice moisturiser. I like the wide variety of products here and can mostly find anything I'm looking for.
