Never Again!!! So about 18 months ago I needed an electrician and since Tony is in town I decided…read moreto give him a try. Called several times and left messages, but never got a call back. Since it was a small job I ended up having a friend help me out. A few months later I needed something else done so I tried Tony one more time. This time he answered, I explained what I needed and came to the house the next day. All I needed done was having an outdoor outlet replaced. He was at my house for about an hour before he left because he didn't have the right parts. He came back the following day to finish the job while I was at work. When I got home I looked at what he had done and not only was there scraps, parts, and debris all over my yard where he had been working, but the outlet was duct taped together. I called him to find out what the hell happened and his response was "well the part didn't fit so that's what I had to do" He sent me a bill for the "work" he had done and wanted it paid promptly. He refused to fix the outlet correctly and claimed that was all that could be done. When I checked to outlet to see if it even worked, I was not surprised to find out that it indeed did not. I called another electrician who not only fixed the problem quickly, but also gave me a good price because he felt bad that I had to deal with a bad electrician that gives the wrong reputation to the field.

He said the job would take 5 hours and he would have to break the wall in my dining room to run the line which would cost $1350 plus an initial $175 consultation fee and said 1/2 the funds were due upfront so I paid him $700. Upon consultation, he noted there was an electrical box already sitting 2ft from the outlet and said if I can run a line from this box to the outlet I will only charge $175 consultation fee since there's not much work involved. He returned with a worker and was able to connect to the box next to the outlet, it took him a little over an hour to TRACE the line from the basement to the box, without have to break walls and run a hard line from the basement. He then charged me $905 and ended up requesting an I became upset. This is not what he promise. I asked him for a breakdown of what he's charging for, he said he charges for a minimum of 2.5 hours plus he needed an extra man (which he also charged for) for the job so the work was shared and both of them had to be paid and he's charging for materials?!?? There were no materials involved except that he relaxed the sockets. I did not pay him the extra $205 because to run a simple electrical line from a nearby box to an outlet does not cost $700! DO NOT pay the contractors any monies upfront. If they are legit and have a business, they should have the funds to cover the job and collect after the work is finished.

We asked him to come back and fix it to be able to dim. Benny kept giving us the run around and blamed us for it not working. The day he came out to fix it, he came into our house without our permission and started the work after saying he would come between a reasonable hour. He made it seem like we owed him something for having him come out at 7 when it was his fault he came so late. I wouldn't recommend this company because you'll be made to look like you're an idiot and have a stranger barge into your home without your permission. Save your money and go elsewhere.

So i called Gladiator Electric in Dumont and had them check our system to determine what was wrong. They came the following day, as scheduled, and checked our ventilation system. They saw what was wrong and fixed it. , Working with Zack and Eddie was a pleasure. They were on time, very friendly and were able to determine what was wrong. I was impressed with them. As a follow up, I asked them to provide me with an estimate for another project which we will do next month. His guys came by and were able to rewire a disconnected junction box in the damned ceiling by wiring a new lead from downstairs creating another leg off of the washer circuit and thereby restoring power to 4 receptacles. Overall, great experience, and Antonio is legitimately one of the nicest, no bullshit guys, and I value that. I will gladly come back to him for more work.
