I found John to be quite personable, and our first conversation already gave me the impression that he was genuine, not just another lawyer trying to make a buck off me. I explained my situation and he gave me sound advice to ensure I would be protected and get matters done with reasonable cost. While I did get the impression his office was busy, it never took too long before they either called me back or gave me updates by email. If it was important or I had a direct question John would call me back personally, otherwise Brent at his front office handled the day to day legwork. I hit a snag and had to delay the work and John did not skip a beat to pick up the work and same quote months later. Once I gave him even more details, he gave me more advice to save even more money, and the transaction completed smoothly in the time that he estimated. Because of the money saved he sent me back the remainder. While we both were too busy to actually meet in person, I would not hesitate to use his services again. However I must say that the In-person visit was pretty straightforward. I opted for the first appointment time at 830am. Doors open at 8:30am, so no need to arrive that much earlier. Security also takes 2 minutes, so no need to allot too much time for that beforehand. Two forms of ID (they didn't ask for my actual social security card) and my said tax return. Pretty easy and I was out the door within 30 minutes. So overall, annoying that I had to go in person, but the actual appointment was pretty easy and efficient.

When I raised concerns, my message was simply forwarded to that attorney with no effort to resolve the issue. It felt like they were protecting themselves--not representing me. The final straw was finding out I'd been dropped as a client without any notice. They were holding an escrow check and only returned it with my files after multiple emails and calls. No explanation--just silence until I pressed for answers. Yes, I stood up for myself and expected accountability. That may not have been convenient for them. But at these rates, professionalism should be non-negotiable. I'm relieved to move on and find a firm that values transparency and client care.

Upon filing taxes this year, I asked my tax prep if I can include my private daycare. She was not sure and advised me "probably not". Since she is newer and I did not feel confident in her answer, after filing, I did my own research and found I was able to claim it. I called back the office and she mentioned she did not say that (false) and they were going to charge me more to amend. I was upset bc it was their mistake to begin with. Needless to say, the owner Tom got on the phone and mistaken me for another client and said he is doing me a favor by giving me a discount, was RUDE and hung up on me without advising how to help me. I can't believe how unprofessional he was! Not only did I pay for my taxes to be prepared but they did them incorrectly and also will not disclose my personal tax info to me. I tried calling back and the receptionist hung up on me. They have my federal documents. Isn't this against the law?? I am also contacting the IRS to do a complaint as well. He thought I was someone else- didn't let me talk- cursed me out and has my documents and hung up on me and his staff. He needs to be reported to IRS- and SHUT DOWN.
