Stayed one night and was unable to sleep due to a child screaming all night for his mom and dad. FunCity did nothing about this. Worst of all, we were charged 382$ even though the room was only 134$. We have not yet gotten this issue resolved and we have been in contact with FunCity for the past 2 days, without coming to any resolve, due to no manager being on duty for the past 2 days. Took my family for a funfilled weekend. We stayed in room 104. Right as we were going to bed the first night....we saw a bed bug crawling on the cover. We captured it and took it to the front desk. We were fully refunded but completely grossed out. They did not seem surprised either. After some further research, we found that in May of 2014...bedbugs were reported in room104 as well. I must have stayed AFTER the remodel as I found the room to be quite clean and loved that the hotel portion seems to cater to Adults Only. Can't remember if the elevator to the rooms was by key access only... Room had a nice clean all tile and glass shower - room seemed big Bed was a bit SOFT - prefer a firm bed- so bed could be replaced and I think removing carpets always makes a place feel more clean. Coffee maker in room- Staff seemed helpful= did not eat in any of the onsite restaurants as they all seemed LOUD- and unappetizing food- was given a voucher for breakfast but it ended early. Only there 2 nights- if I recall it had a refrigerator which was good for keeping cold waters etc- Panera Bread is within Walking distance- it would be nice to know if any other local restaurants deliver here- for a nice quiet meal vs the noisy casino choices read more

This hotel needs to be completely renovated. The rooms are disgusting and so old fashion. If they would remodel this would be a great vacation spot until then I don't think I would ever return or recommend this spot to anyone. On the plus side the waterpark and arcade along with the restaurants are a plus. Good food and reasonable prices. Other then that, don't book here. Book at a different location and pay for the entry at the waterpark. read more

Meh. The room was clean and comfortable but overpriced in my opinion. Stayed at the Pzazz in March during Easter weekend visiting family and friends. Just my fiance and I, no kids. We got a room on the East wing of the building, away from the main part of the hotel, away from the noise and kids running around the pool area. So it was nice and quiet. The room was spacious and clean. Conveniently, there was a coffee maker in the room, which is a plus. Totally satisfied with the room itself. My main complaint is that the room was overpriced in my opinion. It's a decent room, but not for $124 a night. I mean, come on, people, it's Burlington, Iowa. It's not exactly a tourist Mecca. I feel a more appropriate price would be around $90 certainly not over $100. Sure, Waterpark passes are included. However, we didn't use the waterpark passes. We were just in town to visit family and friends. We were asked at check-in if we were going to use the waterpark passes, I said no, and she didn't even give them to us. My suggestion would be for those people who don't use the waterpark passes, to either get a discount on the room or get meal vouchers instead. Overall I'm satisfied with my stay, but not sure I would stay here again if I'm just in town for the night visiting friends and family. read more

Not a good experience at all. For the price of the room, I expected far more. Our room had a VERY strong chlorine smell and sitting by the window to the pool too long hurt your throat! It couldn't have been healthy. Then got a few mystery charges after changing rooms because of the smell. And the Internet didn't reach our rooms on phones or computers. Little kids everywhere too. Super disappointed in our experience. We checked out early and went to a different hotel which is treating us much better. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I had booked a room at the days inn in coralville through hotels.com and they sold me a room that didn't exist anymore. It was our 5 year anniversary night. I called the pzazz on a last ditch effort to see if maybe they would have a suite in our price range. They didn't, however, the woman at reservations asked the MOD and they gave us an amazing deal for our anniversary and saved our anniversary night! (March 2018) My husband and I took our 6 kids this week for a 2-night stay and some entertainment for a small spring break trip. We booked a room with 3 bunk beds and a king bed. The king bed was horrible - hard and extremely uncomfortable. The bunk bed frames were all dirty with gum or food or some other substance stuck all over them. There was one very small bathroom in the room. There was a sliding glass door that opened into Ballocity and NO FRESH AIR. The a/c didn't work even a little, and our room was easily 25° hotter than the hallway with no way to cool it. The cafes and restaurants were overpriced, as well as everything else in the entire "resort." The main cafe near the arcade had high prices, and our waitress was awful. Not only did we have a drink spill that no one would give us extra napkins to clean for a good 5 minutes, not only did it take 20 minutes for anyone to even take our order, but then since we have a family of 8, we were automatically charged 18% for gratuity. I have no problem leaving a great tip for those who deserve it, but with service like that, she certainly didn't deserve even half of what she got. The arcade charges $1 - $1.50 per play, no continues for winning. Lazer Tag is $5/person for 10 minutes of play. Go Karts are $7/person for 10 minutes of play. Ballocity is $10/kid per day, but the kids were bored with it after 20 minutes, and one of my kids got really hurt on a slide. The indoor "pool" was small and designed mostly for toddlers or kids under 10, and was absolutely filthy, with green algae growing not only in the water, but on the walls. We went there to have a couple days of fun and we ended up spending a couple hours the first night, and about 3 hours the next day doing activities, and then we were out of things to do. We came home before staying a second night because not only were we broke and bored already, but we could not stand to sleep in that hot, stuffy and uncomfortable room one more night. We will NOT be returning. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because we had SOME fun. It just wasn't worth the trip or the money. We could have done much, much better elsewhere. I stayed in the Pzazz hotel for two nights with my wife and three children we stayed on the first floor both nights my bathroom was flooded from someone on the second floor. I was totally pissed off, they offered me another room the second night but kids were asleep and I wasn't about to wake them. I paid 150 bucks a night for a room to flood that is totally unexceptable. Rooms were standard and basic I did have some chipped paint on my room and I can tell by the bathroom ceiling that it wasn't the first time the bathroom flooded. The maintenance guy came and gave me some towels the first night it flooded I'm thinking why should I clean it up. The second time it happened they came 1 hour later to try to give me another room by that time the kids were asleep. We ate at the edgewater Cafe food was pretty basic no wow factor at all. I ordered a Italian beef that was so dry it tasted like I was eating saw dust. The indoor water park was OK even the arcade was alright I'm trying to find out how is the Cafe in the arcade food better than a dine in restaurant. Overall I will visit the arcade again but I won't stay at the hotel again I'd rather get a room somewhere else and dine somewhere else as well. read more

Here are the facts, from the main road you can spot the water park but finding the hotel is difficult. The front entrance to the hotel is worn down and the parking lot needs to be re-asphalted. The hallways are atrocious and over due for maintenance! Upon arriving to our room we spotted many dings in the wall that need to be fixed. The sliding security door in the back lobby made a horrific screeching sound. Once we entered our room, I don't know what jumped out first. The popcorn ceiling or the stench in the air! The bed frames, the style of the bedding, and the hard mattresses easily date back to the 1960s. Lucky us, at least the room phone and the alarm clock were from the 1980s. The A/C was the brand Island Breeze, what this meant was that the smoke from the neighbors hotel room was able to enter our room and contaminate it. Keep in mind that this is a NO SMOKING hotel. Because of the poor construction of the hotel, we could hear the sound of the party that our neighbors held at 3am. After multiple attempts to reach the front desk, they finally answered and security came and broke up the party. The noise stopped but the smoking did not. The ventilation system of this hotel must be fixed! The room also did not have a safe to put your valuables in. Over all, I strongly advise that you book a room at a nearby comfort sweet. They have beautiful and spacious rooms, along with fantastic service. read more

Have stayed here many times before due to work. Every time I come back to this place I am disappointed more and more. My employer decides the hotel otherwise I would stay at the Holiday Inn Express or the Fairfield Inn located across the highway. The rooms are made to appear clean but upon further inspection holes have been found in sheets, carpet completely soaked near the wall, along with faulty air conditioners. My most recent stay, I informed maintenance that my shower was not draining properly. Their solution? They took the stopper out of the drain and left the stopper sitting on the side of the tub. There is clearly still an issue with the drain its self as the water continues to pool around the drain. This place has a ton of potential but upgrades must be made. There are several activities for the kids while also a bowling alley, casino, and the Bugaloo Café for the adults. Do expect to pay a pretty penny though. read more

This hotel was horrible!! They have a HUGE fly problem! The hotel smelled horrible and the elevator smelled so bad they had an air freshener stuck to the wall. There were flies everywhere! There had to be some type of infestation. They were in the restaurant, the lobby, the rooms, the indoor waterpark, etc. The staff was nice and friendly but I would never go there again. We had a man ask us where the fathers of our children were, and then proceed to say that he has Cherokee and Negro in his blood. He was so drunk he was slobbering. Weird group of people on Saturday night. The food at the Boogaloo café was decent and the kids loved the arcade and bowling. In short, PLEASE DO NOT WSTE YOUR MONEY!!!! We were told they are doing a total renovation of the hotel and the waterpark and that work is slated to start this fall. DO NOT VISIT BEFORE THE RENOVATIONS ARE COMPLETE!! read more

This is an average older hotel. We had to follow signs to find the check-in desk. We were shocked to hear the reception area had been remodeled in the last year because it was lacking in design and convenience. Employees were friendly. The rooms were extremely large and clean with decent furniture. The bed was a good sleep but we were only there one night. My husband and I had fun playing in the arcade. We did not see the pool/water park area. The bar was large. The casino was fairly empty and seemed outdated. We had the breakfast buffet which was good. We stayed in this hotel and I have to say it was a bad experience. I wasn't impressed at all. We stayed in the hotel park because I wasn't over the age of 18. Just by walking down the hotel hall its musty and very out dated. Out room was very outdated. And the shower was just gross. But it wasn't the wort room. I got pretty good sleep although the bed was hard. But let's fast forward to the next morning. We were leaving and we came to the casino front desk. My grandfather needed help on some bags. And I was the only one that could help him. And this girl at the front desk just went off. She yelled at me and start to almost come at me because I was about to walk in the casino part stairs. We were leaving anyway, so why would it matter? The lady was very unfriendly. So my grandfather ended up struggling with the bags and almost fell done the stairs. And before I left I went straight to that lay at the desk. And gave her a little piece of my mind. I know your trying to do your job, but just think a little. read more

The room we got was a "no window room". Turns out it was actually overlooking the very busy indoor water park. The whole room was damp, and smelled of chlorine. The wifi didn't even reach the room and te shower curtain rod was pretty much falling of the wall. Countless big dents in the walls as well as a lift switch that turned off the outlets. Sad for a hotel with such a high rate per night. read more

$99 special...room with 2 double beds, beds were not very comfy unless you like a very firm bed. The room was clean but showed a bit of wear. $40 arcade card, and admission to Huck's Harbor (indoor pool). The trip was Feb. 2017 so the outdoor part was closed of course. The indoor part is mainly for small children. The hot tub had so much chlorine in it that when you turned on the jets your eyes would burn. The place is under construction. They would not let us check in early and the staff at the hotel registration were not very friendly. The grandkids had fun at laser tag, speed way and arcade. Hotel is showing its age, especially in the halls. Rooms are okay, the main draw is the casino and waterpark. Stayed with my family the first weekend of August 2014, and thought the staff was horrible. I have never seen a ruder, less friendly staff at a facility in my life. From the lifeguards, to restaurant staff, to the hotel employees. I don't think I saw one smile all weekend from anyone working there. Each interaction was met with the same attitude...and the experience was shared by the six other families that were with our group! Go spend your money somewhere else. Very disappointed in the rooms for the price. Dingy, poor lighting, low quality bed linens, the furniture in the room was very beat up & scratched & hadn't been dusted in places. The underside of the chrome towel bar in the bathroom was all rusted. The room had a sliding glass door & balcony onto the kids play room. It was like being in a McDonalds play area all day. The ball pit had a vacuum type machine that would spit out the balls that was extremely loud. Thankfully they shut it down by 10pm on the weekend. The first night we got in late & when I turned on the TV the only thing that worked on the remote was the volume control. I called the desk & they sent a maintenance man with a new remote that seemed to work, so I got undressed & watched TV in bed for awhile to unwind from being on the road all day. When I was finally ready to go to sleep I discovered that the power button on the replacement remote was missing so I had to sleep with the TV on all night. I've stayed in Motel 6's that were cleaner and quieter. read more
