I found this place, on Yelp, while we were traveling along Route77, heading north of Charlotte. The reviews sounded good and we were tired of the same old, same old Cracker Barrel breakfasts we'd been settling for on our road trips. Although I still highly recommend Cracker Barrel's blueberry pancakes, we were both ready for a change. Instead of breakfast, we decided on an early lunch. After serious consideration of the numerous enticing dishes, recommended by our most personable and courteous server, Taylor, we decided on NOLO Jambalaya and chicken pot pie. Homemade comfort food and lots of it as well as a warm and friendly atmosphere made this a perfect spot for us to stop. What a nice treat and diversion from the usually boring franchises along the road! We definitely plan on returning to the FRESH EGG KITCHEN the next time we travel through the area and, if you're ever in these parts, we'd recommend you do the same. read more

First time there today. Visiting from West Palm Beach. Breakfast was outstanding and came out fast. Owner introduced herself and made me feel very welcomed. We have eaten at the sister restaurant to this, Fresh Chef, many times and loved it. Our experience here was not so good. The service was attentive, but that's the only bright spot. First visit, out of town, looking for a hearty breakfast to start the day. The good. Food. Delicious. Had the Cali Benedict and the Country Ham Bene. Both tasty. Country Ham was very salty as per hubs. But we are a low-salt household, so anything salty can seem salty. Short-ish wait for a Sunday morning, less than 30 minutes is always a good thing, but means they're well liked, so be willing to wait. Bathroom was clean and seemed tended to. The bad. Service is good at the start of the meal for ordering and drinks, but deteriorates quickly once the food arrives to be ignoring at the end. Had to ask for our check when we'd clearly finished and our plates had been bussed for a while...and people waiting for a table while we sat outside. No coffee refills...not sure why. Maybe oversight or maybe their way of saying please let us turn over the table. The ugly. Not much. Maybe the fact it took over 10 minutes to get the slip to sign for card purchase. Overall, it was good food and pleasant staff, just missed the mark on the service aspect. Would I return? Yes, during the week, probably to try to the lunch menu as it looked delicious. read more

To want $10 for A slice of toast, an avocado (not sure if half or whole) and two eggs is a bit crazy. Then I ask for over medium egg, it's underdone, on the "toast" that's barely toasted. Completely over priced therefore your food better be perfect to make it worth it. read more

I have eaten at The Fresh Egg numerous times now and I absolutely love it. It is in the category of 'better breakfast', because the menu is better and more creative than what you will find at most other breakfast places. Today,for the second time in a week, I had a crab cake benedict. One of the creative touches on the menu is that they offer a cauliflower cake instead of english muffin. That's how I've had it, and it's delicious. For my side, I had the cheddar grits. These are some of the best grits you will ever taste. Creamy, with deep flavor from what I'm told is sharp cheddar. If you are a grits person, GET THE CHEDDAR GRITS. I also had a cheddar biscuit with my breakfast, and it was delicious. I have also had the Baja omelet and the western omelet. Both highly recommended. The breakfast potatoes are very good too. Service is quick and friendly, the food arrives hot, and Charlie the manager keeps an eye on everything and makes sure everyone is happy. You will not be disappointed with the Fresh Egg. After so many meals at home due to sheltering in place, Fresh Egg was our first restaurant that we took a chance on to dine in. The sisters that own this quaint little gem made our day! It was spotless clean! The service was impeccable! It was also our very first time to eat here. My husband had the cornbeef hash with 2 over easy eggs. I had the veggie omelette. The hash was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the over easy eggs....yum! The veggies were sautéed and filled the yummy omelette. The potatoes were great! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and seasoned the potatoes should be seasoned! We will be back!!! read more

Not please with I believe was the manager(tall curly brownish black hair white Caucasian lady). This was my first time there. The waiter was nice and the food was good. The problem came about when I was getting ready to go to the register to pay. She whisper to the lady about me and the lady ask where and look me in the face. First of all me trying to steal an omelette and a salad is bs. My eggs in my fridge at home cost 7.00 dollars for 12. People need to understand African American money is the same as a Caucasian or any other race..All races have people that steal but it seem that blacks are the only ones that have problems. This place is in a strip mall and hidden a little bit. This has been the best service I have ever had in any restaurant. We had a total of four servers and each of them were very happy and energetic. The food was outstanding. I had the biscuit and gravy and an egg. We also had a Ham and Cheese omelette with bacon. The omelette was so big couldn't eat it all. Loved the atmosphere. Stopped at The Fresh Egg today after church. We have loved The Fresh Chef, now The Fresh Egg is our FAVORITE breakfast lunch place in Cornelius/Davidson/Huntersville. Just in keeping with the top notch food with Fresh Chef, The Fresh Egg has all fresh ingredients and their menu offers many selections without having to scroll thru pages & pages of items as with other restaurants. I ordered the California Eggs Benedict with a cauliflower cake (instead of English muffin) with a poached egg, bacon and avocado top with hollandaise sauce and cheddar grits. I meant to take a pic but I fell into that dish so quickly by the time I was finished is when I thought I should have taken a pic! Beautiful presentation as well as delicious! Next time I will take the pic and include in this review. It was SOOO good, and I don't usually even get an Eggs Benedict dish but the cauliflower cake was calling to me. It had a slight spice to it that was balanced out with the egg and avocado. My gosh was this good. My husband had an omelet with bacon, avocado & goat cheese along with the cheddar grits. My goodness were we happy customers! We Will Be Back!!! And we LOVE Charlie the manager. She is Awesome, friendly and personable. The wait staff was excellent and attentive. Food came quickly.
