Me and a few of my family members and friends decided to go out for brunch today. We went to Fushimi in Williamsburg. For starters we got there around 1:30pm and was greated by a young lady name Moon. She then sat us at a table in a booth for 6 which was perfect. She came back 5 minutes later and told us about the bunch menu with the drinks for 90min an ask us what was our starters. A few of us ordered bisque soup and the others avocado salad they both were amazing. .We felt like we were the only customers as the staff were so attentive to us. They have two menu for brunch. The kitchen and the sushi bar. You can order one or the other. We then ordered from the kitchen menu. Some of us ordered the gyoza as there appetizer, the main course was Salmon with mash potatoes and a crocket. The others ordered filet mignon. The food was cooked to perfection. We then talked for a while as we were catching up. Moon was amazing and I've been her several time. I would recommend brunch without reserve. read more

This place was really good the sashimi was super fresh. The crispy rice was super fresh and it was not hard like other places usually are. Dream I'm only giving this place a four out of five because the service was not too good. We ordered the sushi and sashimi deluxe and they did not even give us wasabi. Fushimi is as much a decorative/presentation experience as a dining one. This place is FANCY, with sparkly silver balls all around! The entrance TO the bathroom, as well as the bathroom itself, are kind of worth it on their own. Also, every dish is presented in beautiful pottery with floral flourishes. The food is also pretty consistently delicious. We started with a couple of sangrias and martinis. They were all perfectly balanced and clearly came from a skilled bartender. We ordered two scallop appetizers and a king crab app that was the best of the bunch! For mains, we ordered a Scottish salmon, two specialty rolls and a broiled hamachi. The salmon was perfectly cooked and served atop some very delicious garlic mashed potatoes. My "out of control" specialty roll had a solid construction and a ton of fish, but was kind of plastered in an overly sweet top sauce that gave me pause. The hamachi was surprisingly generous (based on my experience at other restaurants) and broiled with skill. Given that we had more time to kill, we ordered 3 desserts; The trio of Creme Brulee- The matcha and the chocolate were not great, leaving only a micro serving of classic The fried banana- Panko fried AND bruleed banana and ice cream-nice! The tempura ice-cream-Standard preparation, but in a really good way Overall, I would definitely recommend Fushimi. 4 starts instead of 5 for price point ($145 for 2 with tip) and service. Been here numerous of times. I never yelp but this is one of my lady favorite spots. Our waiter was amazing very knowledgeable. I would like to thank you Luis for your input. Everything that was suggested from the food to drinks was on point. Avocado crab salad was standard but flavorful. We had my niece's birthday here, and believe me during COVID it's hard to find a restaurant to accommodate our group of 10. We made reservations and they had a long table set up for us upon arrival. The drinks were good and so was the food. From short ribs to surf and turf, crab cakes and rock shrimp tempura, the food we had was delicious! Came here from Connecticut for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. The ambiance of the place is just beautiful. We had a reservation and although we were late, we were seated right away (great for a Saturday night). Food and drinks were brought out right away. My only dislike was the proportions. The lobster was small (which I should've expected since nowhere compares to city island in nyc with seafood) and the sushi was very little. Let me just start by saying that the esthetic of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the service wasn't bad either. The reason why I'm only giving two stars is because the food was not what I was expecting. I ordered the Lobster Medallion and Shrimp for one it was no where near filling. I think this dish should be taken off the menu. It didn't taste good at all. I thought it was just a weird combination of taste all around the plate. It's as if they threw things on the plate to make it look nice rather than compliment one another. Its been a while since i felt this disrespected by an establishment.... Me and a close friend attended the restaurant "fushimi" ,the Williamsburg location on 11/10/2005 around 1pm for the lunch special. we were seated. I noticed the server was very cold and did not want to serve us. I'm a dark skinned black queer cis-male and my friend is a biracial women who looks, phenotypically, Latina. We ordered the five course lunch special: Miso soup, sea weed salad, Cold tofu, and the main course -Sex on the Beach Roll Box. We even joked while choosing one of the courses.... ("something cracker" instead of the cold tofu), to only have him get it wrong for both our orders. he checked our table every minute, that felt more accusatory than actually wanting to help us. The nail in the coffin was the sake that was brought out to us that felt a little to intense. I've had sake at many a Japanese lunch special, but this seemed intentionally strong to the point where i couldn't even finish it. i feel odd admitting to this, but i felt i needed to be extra nice because-with these establishments- i already feel there's some weird-ness when serving non white customers. I commented on another servers nails(that were very cute btw) and felt I'd behaved pretty pleasantly. we were gonna tip VERY generously ,but the tip was included while also showing the different options on the receipt. we complained when we left...(they clearly didn't care) I called to speak to the manager, "Eric" (later that night around 9:30),and expressed my concerns, only to be spoken to in a VERY condescending and frustrated tone. He seemed to take the conversation to the extreme by aggressively asking "should i fire him then!? the "conversation" just dissipated into me telling him this isn't helpful and me hanging up. I STONGLY believed because we were POC/alternative/queer. My friend had been coming to this place for over three years with -what she described as "great service "but because i accompanied her that day we were met with hostility and many microaggressions. i would recommend just ordering your food and enjoying your home vibes. I would rate this place 3.5. The food was good, but I couldn't help but feel like something was missing from all the dishes: I think it needed an umami flavor or burst of flavor but it was lacking. It needed a depth of flavor. We had the "out of control" and "angry dragon" specialty rolls, miso soup and scallions wrapped in beef for appetizer. The specialty rolls were good, but not out of this world amazing (for how many ingredients are packed inside you would expect flavor explosion). Also the beef rolls were missing some flavor, I just feel like I needed to douse everything in salt and lemon. The ambience of the place is really nice, great decorations, and classy and lively vibe. Ok, so I've lived in the immediate neighborhood for over 20 years and OF COURSE I knew this place was an obvious tourist trap (I remember when it was a mere vacant lot). But today was a big birthday and I was feeling venturesome. Plus it's been around a while now -- how bad could any sushi in Williamsburg be? Answer: Kinda bad. The report: Overpriced, underfresh. Very skimpy undersized rolls (congrats you guys saved a thimbleful of rice on each bite), rubbery tuna with stringy shards of hard fat, shockingly bland salmon, eel etc. You can do SO much better in the neighborhood it's not funny (HONESTLY, there are Korean take-out markets around here where superior sushi can be had at a fraction of the price.) Skip this place unless you need a Vegas-fantasy-decor meal to impress Larry Tate or your taste-bud damaged uncle from Keokuk and don't really care what you are eating or why. read more

Great ambiance and service. As soon as you walk in, the music makes you feel like you're at a club/lounge. We were there for an after work crowd but you can tell that on the weekends this place is the place to have a great party experience. The decor is amazing throughout the restaurant, everything from the dining area to the walk to the bathroom. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered seafood bisque, seafood hot and sour soup, summer salad with chicken and a fire and ice roll. Everything was delicious. I came here with my mom the other night because we had a Groupon, which had a pretty good value (like $60). The interior of this place is really nice, and dimly lit, making it a nice place for date, or birthday party, or anything else. It gives off a nice modern night club scene. The food was pretty good, we ordered two soups the seafood bisque, and the lobster miso, and an order of rock shrimp as appetizers. They were all pretty good, I especially liked the rock shrimp and the seafood bisque. Neither soups were too salty and they were packed with flavor. Even though we were pretty full from the appetizers alone, we still manage to make room for our entrées which were two of their specialty rolls. My mom got the Angry Lobster, and I got the Fire and Ice roll. I like that this is one of those Japanese restaurants, where the chefs experiment with their sushi rolls and adds certain ingredients to give it a little kick and certain flavor. I just wish they weren't all $16, which is pretty high for sushi in my book. My fire and ice roll was really good though, and it is not as spicy as you think it would be from what the description says. Also our waitress Sophie, was really nice and pretty attentive for the most part as well as for several other staff members. Celebrated my boyfriends mothers birthday here. It was the perfect choice! The restaurant decor and design is beautiful and modern from the outside to inside. Our waiter who's name I cannot remember was excellent no complaints at all...we had shrimp tempura sushi which is great. It comes topped in lobster meat however that is not indicated on the menu.nonetheless it was tasted great. I must say thee entree portions are tiny!
