I love the fact that I can go multiple times in a year and it's covered by insurance. Dorus does manual adjustments similar to my chiropractor but yet a little different. All I know is, he relieves any pain I'm experiencing and it's always nice to be helped by him, as he's very friendly and he's a great communicator who tells me what and why he's doing the adjustments he's doing. Highly recommended for neck, shoulder and back pain..Although, I wouldn't doubt he's great at relieving pain in other areas of the body as well.

My doctor said this place is used my athletes and there are at least two levels of gym and consultant rooms. I've had two different physios for a knee issue and both were energetic, pleasant, knowledgeable and also looked like personal trainers. If you have therapy here you can use the gym after but this is also a gym you can get a membership too. I saw a gym with a knee cast on a mobility table being moved around assisted before starting his work out program in the gym and it all looked very professional and knowledgeable. Your therapist can also write you a gym problem depending on your issues due to this personal trainer/physio set up. They also have other services offered through this centre such as nutrition and other coaching. I was very pleasantly surprised and they have appointments from 8:00-22:00 so a busy working week is no excuse to miss your session.

One of my doctors referred me to VU to with my issue because supposedly they are more experience in that area, compared to other hospitals. So we will see what steps they will take or if I will get the run around in a month here too. The doctor I encountered here spent an extensive time period with me in discussing my medical case, so hopefully after she reviews my medical records, I won't experience any nonsense, and then I can proceed to receiving some serious treatment asap. The infrastructure of the hospital reminds me somewhat of UCLA, which appears to be a plus on the surface. I really hate that I did not get surgery here or at St. Lucas, because then I would not be in this predicament. Well I am praying that I can get some real results done here, because chronic pain is not a pleasant situation to be in. If you intend on getting surgery or any serious diagnosis, then I would by past half of the hospitals in Amsterdam, and stop in here first. So you can walk in and come out safe.

So make sure you have legal medical insurance with an insurance company before you go to a hospital here, something I was not aware of that you must have when encountering bad and unethical doctors here.

A hospital where, due to the negligence of MDL doctors, IBD nurses and rheumatism doctors, you do not get better, but unfortunately sicker and sicker. They neglected my serious symptoms. I AM NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY AT ALL. My argument focuses in particular on the gastroenterology and rheumatology departments. (Eye clinic in AMC is good: because of the short lines of communication between doctor and patient, ophthalmologists take patients seriously). What makes the MDL departments so worthless: - the IBD nurses who sit in the doctors' chair. Making wrong assessments that can be dangerous for the patient. -the miserably long lines between doctor and patient. -the worthless digital mijndossier: communication doesn't work at all -If you have VERY serious complaints, you will simply be sent home with painkillers. I didn't feel taken seriously at all, even though there was a ticking time bomb in my body. -the doctors did not collaborate with other doctors, only looked at their own field in a very autistic way, and then sent it back to the GP. I also expect a medical specialist to look at the patient as a whole/holistically. If necessary, refer to the internist for more rigorous examination or consult with each other. Simply negligent! -Referring to an internist But they left it to the GP, even though it was urgent and even dangerous. Once a referral was received from the GP, the AMC rejected the referral in question because it believed it contained too little information. HELLO! This is not a formal error in a lawsuit, case dismissed due to an error. This is a HUMAN LIFE! -I haven't seen my own IBD/MDL doctor in 5 years. Staff shortage or something? It sure seems like it! -rheumatology outpatient clinic: too many patients and too few staff -incompetent doctors who cannot act and assess when a situation is serious. This certainly applies to the rheumatology outpatient clinic. It is better to go to a smaller hospital, if all goes well specialists also work there (get paid more) and have more time for their clients. AMC: rheumatology outpatient clinics and MDL: worthless third world country hospital!

There are two large OLVG hospitals in Amsterdam, this one (Oost=East) or the West. Oost is much larger.

My experience regarding the gynecology department they don't believe in any accountability, honesty, integrity or humanity regarding their patients. I was treated here years ago and never recovered from the unethical experience I had with them. As far as office experience, please keep in mind they don't keep on file unethical behavior among the doctors and they will deny, discredit and dismiss the patient to cover their back. Well as far as I am concerned that was my personal experience. I ask if the experience would be documented and kept on file and they said no. I was treated completely inhumane. I don't believe every department is like this but it was definitely my experience with their gynecologist team and department. After they permanently damaged my body I went to another department that demonstrated much more respect and integrity and some form of professionalism in contrast to the gynecology department.

So never having a real say in who I wanted my GP to be I could not have been happier with the choice made by my agent. It has now been over 5 years and I have heard many of my friends complain about the healthcare in the Netherlands. Well ladies and gents, if you want: - to be listened too -don't want absurd waiting times for appointments - don't want to feel rushed during your appointment - action taken on your behave - feel like you are being taken seriously Then this is your place! I can't speak for all the GP's there but my GP Dr. Linnebank is a trooper. To give you all a clear example: I fell down the stairs at work and couldn't put down my foot anymore. The first aid consultants at work had urged me to go to the hospital or see my GP. So I called the Center the assistant was super understanding and soothing. She listened to my story and then told me to come over as soon as I could even though the Dr. was busy and my fall wasn't exactly live threatening she would make sure that he would see me quickly in between. When I got there (carried in by my cab driver ;) )She sat me down and called my GP who was in another appointment. After a short wait he finished his appointment and helped me straight away even though the waiting room was full. He assessed my foot and body to make sure I didn't have any other injuries. After which he concluded that he wanted me to go to the hospital, so he called the hospital himself to make sure they knew I was coming and could be helped quickly. About 4 weeks after all this I went back to see my GP as my foot wasn't getting any better. If any it was getting worse and I couldn't stand on it. Again I was helped quick. My GP concluded that he didn't agree with the specialists in the hospital and wanted me to go and see the specialist again. He picked up the phone himself and called the specialist directly in the hospital. The specialist argued that I just need to see a fysio but this answer wasn't good enough. My GP insisted that they have to reassess and a couple days later I have an appointment again. Now for Dutch standards this kind of personally help is rare and it is what sets this health-center apart from other GP offices. Only negative: the main entrance is not accessible by car, so in this case and not being able to walk was a bit of an issue.
