So much hype and anticipation. And...it was a mixed experience. The pizza was good but crazy rich, and I paid the price after. The pizzas all had like a block of melted cheese on them (see pics). It was too much, and we ended up eating less than 50% of the pizzas. The fugazetta was my fave. The flan with dulce de leche was outstanding. We got the leftovers to go with a plan to give them away to some homeless folks we saw outside which is what we did. Impressed with how large they are (4 floors), and it was still packed. Service was super slow.
When in Argentina, you have to try the pizza at least once! For us, it ended up being twice since our guide also recommended El Cuartito (separate review). Güerrín is massive. You can order by the slice in the front where there are standing tables, and there's a dining room in the back. However, we were led even farther down a hallway to yet another dining area, which was enormous. I'm glad we ended up there because the first dining room didn't have the AC on. We shared a small pizza half fugazzeta and half with sweet red peppers and green olives. I really enjoyed the green olives, much better than the typical sliced black olives back home. The fugazzeta, though, is loaded with layers upon layers of cheese... almost too much, but hey, when in Argentina, right? I could practically feel my arteries clogging and knew I'd need a cleanse when I got home! Overall, it was a good experience, but we preferred El Cuartito where the crust was crispier, and we liked that you could order slices even while seated.
We were with a Tour Guide all day today and needed a lunch break and she recommended this place. Apparently it is one of the most famous pizza places in all of Buenos Aires. We've had way too much pizza, but she said they have amazing homemade empanadas as well so we settled on those We were able to sample the beef, the chicken and the ham and cheese. All were very tasty and very filling and I probably won't be able to eat too many of these or I'm going to gain 100 pounds while I am here. The front of the restaurant was very full with tables that were very close and the air-conditioning that didn't work so well, but our Guide knew that if we followed the long hallway to the back, there would be a bigger dining room back here with more comfortable seats and a much quieter atmosphere. You're also able to watch the chefs work back here. So we had a nice experience, it was very busy, prices seem fair and we were quite full by the time we ate our empanadas. Definitely a place you have to stop in to at least once. Do know that the pizza is the thick Sicilian style almost so it's quite a meal! Our total bill for six empanadas and three beers was approximately $40
Despite my typical dietary awareness, the multiple mentions of the pizza and farina across multiple sites won me over! We came by during the overnight portion of our cruise. Cabify picked us up at the port and it was about a 20 min drive- plenty of traffic. There really does not seem to be many other reason to venture over to this street as a tourist- it was very crowded and low rent places- touristy or otherwise. We were quickly seated in the back dining room which has its own pizza oven, bar and it was a bit quieter than the front dining room. The latter seemed to be more for a slice or 2 and not to sit down and enjoy a full meal. Well, the bottles of beer are huge- not the typical USA long neck size. Local beer was refreshing. Our server spoke English and was very patient and attentive despite being busy. We ended up ordering a small pizza- half with anchovies for hubby. Seriously, the cheese was dripping off the edges as the servers delivered it to the neighboring tables. The farina socce (chick pea pancake) was very good and I have never tried it on my pizza before. Perhaps the trend started to keep the cheese on it! We skipped dessert- had to save room for dinner on the ship that night! Checked the box- probably wouldn't visit again. My cardiologist would not approve. :)
Right in the heart of the theater district, Guerrin has been on my radar for years. (However, the draw of steak is strong.) But I made the commitment to come here for a lunch. Everyone should visit. You may have to wait in line but it moves quickly. There is table service as well as standup counter space. I did the counter so I could watch the kitchen and empanada station. There are some great local pizzas available and their style is unique from anywhere else. The crust is thick and chewy with just the right amount of toppings. Local flavors are always worth the try and I had the house special, which is ham and cheese with red bell pepper. The bell pepper was marinaded and made the pizza. It was fun to come and with a group we may be back but I will also explore other pizzas around Buenos Aires
We had read a lot saying Guerrin was the best Argentine pizza. So it was a bit surprising when the food itself really didn't do it for us. I felt like I didn't quite understand it. It was pizza, but only by the loosest definition. I'm sure it was an amazing form of Argentine pizza, but in a vacuum I wouldn't say it was an amazing food experience. Very busy place as a whole, so I may be in the minority!
Had to try this pizza spot on our trip to Buenos Aires after hearing how popular it is. The place is busy typically with both seating and standing area for dining. We opted for the standing area and people filter in and out quickly. It does get a bit messy in this area though. The pizza itself is very thick and indulgent, not a New York or neopolitan kind. It looks overwhelmingly cheesy at first but is pretty tasty! Recommend trying at least once!
Five stars with an asterisk*. The pizza is excellent fresh light satisfying dough that doesn't overwhelm its toppings. We had the guerrin special and the bell peppers are the stars of this show. The calabrese despite it masquerading as a meat dish, the onions are more pronounced on this one. The wait for the pizza wasn't long and service was great. The asterisks* is for the cost - it's pricey for pizza.
While walking through BA's Broadway area, I found one of BA's famous pizzerias, Guerrin. It was in the same spot when it first opened and served wood fired thick crust pizza. There was sit down tables outside and in but most of the customers were eating while standing. All table types included condiments such as hot sauce (since the pizzas weren't served with a sauce) and paper as napkins. Forks and knives were by the serving area as well as the bins to return used plates, cups, etc. Pizza could be ordered by the slice of whole. I got one each of the fugazza and mozzarella slices which was also topped with faina (chickpea bread) that I ordered afterwards (per recommendation of a local behind me who paid for it - very nice guy). None of the pizza came with sauces as was the style here. Fugazza was covered with lots of thinly sliced white onions that had a good onion flavor. Mozzarella pizza was just oozing cheese. I agreed that the pizza tasted better with the faina but it made for a heavier meal (not only weight). Each piece was so filling that I could not finish both slices. Most people I saw ordered just one for themselves.

The menus said cash only so I set out to find an atm but at the end we were able to pay with a cc after all. The pizza as good but it was a LOT of cheese. Glad I tried it but not sure if I would get it again. It was busy and lively. And the wine was really cheap and good so that was a plus!
Genuinely overrated. While the crust was fully baked, it is so thick that there is a wet, weird in between layer that is not pleasant to eat. We were surrounded by tables filled with locals, and not tourists, and we saw that they only ate the toppings. So did we. If you are going on a summer day, note that they will turn off the AC intermittently and rely on the ceiling fans. Loved the history, the energy, and the ambiance. But I cannot make myself to say I'd have ordered this pizza at home.
Guerrin is commonly mentioned as a must visit for Argentinian style pizza so my wife and I decided to give it a try. This spot is super touristy located in the heart of the city's tourist district with lines out the door for seating and to go. We decided to wait for a seat and waited for about 30 minutes for dinner. Once seated, we ordered the Fugazza con Muzzarella. This pizza had crisp crust, rich smoked crisp onions, and gooey cheese. Overall, a good quality pizza.
The place is huge! Multiple floors and they have both slice and pie service. The pizza is very good and if you love cheese, this is your place! The cheese literally drips off the edge of the pizza so mind your elbows if you are on an aisle. Also be prepared to wait. We got there a bit ahead of the normal dinner crowd and were seated straight away. When we left, the line went down the block! The pizza is great, the beer is cold and the service is spectacular. Go check them out.

Loved the vibe. Old school pizza joint. Was quickly seated. Service was good. Malbec was tasty. Got a slice and it was so good. One slice is plenty for lunch. Tiramisu was not good. read more
Güerrín is an absolute institution in BA's theater district, and the shop is surprisingly huge. Skip the comfortable tables (where you have to buy a whole pie anyway) and stick to the standing counters. It's the best way to order by the slice, soak in that classic pizzeria energy, and mingle with the crowd. We stood at the counter and tried the Mozzarella and the Fugazzeta. As a New Yorker who swears by thin crust, this thick, airy, Sicilian-style like pizza is a totally different beast, but I definitely understand the appeal. The Fugazzeta was a completely new experience for me. It's essentially a heavy base of dough and infused cheese buried under a massive layer of onions. It's rich and delicious, but the classic Mozzarella slice ended up being my favorite, perfectly balancing salty cheese with a slightly sweet tomato sauce. Come hungry because this pizza is no joke; it is very heavy, and two slices will easily fill you up. Overall, it's a solid spot worth visiting to experience a local staple, but don't expect a life-changing slice. read more
Glad I tried Argentine pizza, but to be honest, it's not for me. Guerrin came highly recommended. It reminded me of a deconstructed Chicago style deep dish pizza. We ordered the classic. One thing that was obvious, very little crisp. The ham, and onion combo was interesting, the caramelized onions were the highlight of the bite. Overall, not a fan but to each his own. read more

My partner brought me here for our holiday in Buenos Aires as one of the best places to try fugazetta rellena but turns out they don't do that here or we ordered incorrectly. Regardless, the pizza we had was good and the faina was alright but not my favorite (my partner said that it was very good though). I think it's a bit of a tourist trap but I don't have a better recommendation for in the city. It was pretty busy but we went around 2-3pm so we didn't have to wait in line. I don't need to go again but the onion pizza was really good. read more
The ambiance of this little pizza spot completely disconnects you from Argentina in the best way possible! From the decor, to the music, to the food... you are fully immersed in a cheesy blast of fun! We ordered two pizzas at the table both the original and the pepperoni and the combinations although traditional they stood on their own and made Argentina's pizza scene shine bright! read more
Wow! How cool! Busy spot but the decor and the atmosphere are magnetic. Love the food here as it was excellent!! Would definitely come back. Since we went around lunch time it was pretty busy.... So service was slow. That's the only set back for me. Otherwise, yummy! If you're visiting, this is a must stop! read more
With over 170,000 reviews, I was excited to try Pizzería Güerrín, but honestly, the pizza was a huge letdown. We ordered the margherita and the fugazetta, and both came out super wet and undercooked- so much so that my friends and I couldn't even finish them. Maybe this is how Argentinians like their pizza, but it just wasn't for us. The vibes of the place were great and the service was impressively fast, but unfortunately the pizza itself was not good. Don't fall for the hype. read more

Good option to get fugazetta in Buenos Aires. The restaurant was super packed 2:30 on a Sunday but we were able to be seated in 5 minutes on the second floor. It's a bustling space with a lively atmosphere and service was attentive. Fugazetta is a double crusted pizza with onion baked on top--it's rich and on the heavier side, but especially delicious for the first slice!! read more

This is where the locals suggested for us to try. The service was great, they seated us pretty quickly even though it was crowded. We ordered three Pizzas. Pizza and Jalapeños - We ordered this because the reviews said it was really spicy, it has a kick but I wouldn't say that it's Spicy, so if you like truly spicy food then it's not that spicy. The Margarita - it was good nothing really special. My friend also had the Eggplant and said it was good. This is a great place for a quick hunger fix and you'll be satisfied. read more

Tourist trap and our first stop in Buenos Aires... Our experience here will be our top core memory in Buenos Aires. Guerrin was listed in a lot of Reddit pages and friend recommendations. The pizza is Argentinian style - nothing comparable to pizza in the United States. The cheese is very heavy and oozes over the crust. The crust is thick and gooey almost. We ordered a small pizza with onions. The bottom layer was the crust, then a bed of red onions and what seemed like two inches of mozzarella cheese. Given we started with an empanada and the cheese was so heavy, we only had one slice each which equated to half the pie. Service - spectacular. Our server noticed we could only eat half the pizza and equated it to us not liking the pizza. We simply are not used to this style of pizza. He went on to bring out a pizza slice with tomato sauce. He then brought out another flatbread type item which I am not sure what it was. We really appreciated this and tried to explain it wasn't his fault that we didn't fall in love with the pizza. We were overwhelmed with his kindness but realized tips are only in cash. We ended up spotting two Americans, Venmoed them in exchange for cash. Menus - they have an Argentinian menu and an English (UK) menu. It'd be helpful if the menus had pictures so you can know what to expect. Moreover, there is a page that says they do not accept credit cards...so we walked out. We turned around to clarify with a server and was told they do take credit cards. I would recommend updating the menus. read more

Lives up to the hype and how! Guerrin has been in business a long long time and still thriving for very good reason. They are always busy as hell and the lines look daunting but don't let it deter you. They move fast, thanks to efficient staffing, all while maintaining high standards of food and service. The language barrier is a bit of a struggle for someone who isn't linguistically skilled like me, but they do their best to help you put in the order. Which is so appreciated! Loved the fugazetta with jamon and cheese, mozzarella, napolitana and especial. Argentinian pizzas, for all ye North Americans out there, are reminiscent of a Chicago deep dish and Detroit style pizza. They start with a nice thick base and go mad heavy on the cheese. They sell by the slice if you wish to try a bit of everything. If you are in BA, take a break from the steaks and try Guerrin. You will not regret it. read more

When in Buenos Aires this is the pizza place that you must go to upon arriving. It has been open since 1930s I believe and represents the rich history of the city. The Pizza is spectacular best I've had in my trips to Argentina. The service is excellent as well very friendly staff, we got seated very quickly. Ambiance is very lively and lots of moving parts, you can see the kitchen and ovens at work upon arriving....its majestic. read more
If you think you know everything about pizzas, visit Güerrín to be surprised about a pizza style you might have not tried before. Well seasoned cast iron pans make delicious "Argentinian" style pizzas (and Roman too!). Airy dough, super tasty and gooey cheese, tasty tomato sauce and a long list of toppings to choose from; however, the star of the place is the "Fugazzetta", a white pizza with lots of mozzarella and onions that it's too good to be true. I didn't try the empanadas and desserts, which are apparently famous too. The place is big, busy, noisy, clean and with a lot of character. I wish I could visit this place again. read more
My daughter said this pizza made the 10 hour flight from the States worth the trip. Enough said! The pepperoni on the pizza was thickly sliced and peppery and the abundant amount of cheese almost had a smoky taste. The imperial lager on draft was refreshing and we also tried the baked chicken empanada. It takes a bit of time for your pizza to come out but that is to be expected. I am contemplating ordering a pizza to go and smuggling it on the plane. It is a shame I was too stuffed at the end of the meal because the delectable flan was calling my name. read more

Great service, atmosphere and food! We got the fugazetta with mozzarella which was pretty good but a little too much cheese'. The pepperoni pizza was pretty good. There were two of us and we could only finish half of 2 small pizzas. They are very thick and heavy. All in all it was a good experience read more

Just about everything said about Guerrin Pizza on YouTube and every travel show on Buenos Aires is true. The pizza is tasty, filling, ample toppings and plentiful size wise. The ambiance is late night party crowd having a great time. Get there early on Friday or Saturday cause the line forms all the way down the block. The decor is throwback 50's with a large wood burning pizza oven at one end and a maze-like architecture provides surprises. Well worth the stop and eat aspect of a trip to Buenos Aires. One suggestion, I saw enough pizza left over on the tables to make you reflect on wasted food and hunger. Please have your leftovers bagged for takeout. There are individuals on the street who will ask you for them, feel good about yourself and give them the bag. read more
This is the oldest pizzeria in Argentina from 1932 & was highly recommended as having the best pizza in the world. We found it in the busy theater district. There was standing room and slices served in the front, and in the back tables with waitress service. There were two floors and a patio for dining. There were family & presidential dining rooms. We ordered a small pizza with 4 slices; half pepperoni & half Guerrin special and a big water with a bucket of ice. It was very busy here at lunchtime. Our small pie came out about :10 later. It was tasty & the cheese & toppings were over flowing. I was happy it wasn't salty nor greasy. read more
I completely see why this is the busiest restaurant I have seen in Buenos Aires. It's in the perfect location and lit up like the street it's on. There's ample seating, and I don't know how the servers find you to know you need to be served, but they have it down. Service was fairly quick and kind. I tried half pepperoni, half quatro cheese. The pizza is fresh as are the cheeses and pepperoni. Some of the best flavor. The pizza came out hot and full of cheese. It's a thicker crust but not overwhelming. I would definitely return to try more options on the list, which is quite extensive. The dessert case is very enticing as well, if you save room. read more
The famous pizza place!! Most definitely worth the hype. First thing, it will looked packed as if you can't get a table but I can assure the restaurant is deep with lots of tables in the back so don't fret! We stopped in for a pizza and some beer to share for a late lunch. Beer was great and the pizza was even better. We got the guerrin special and it's phenomenal. Argentine pizza is the best! Being from New York, my pizza expectations are pretty high, so I really didn't think that I was going to enjoy having pizza here. Our guide recommended that we try the onion pizza. I don't like to eat onions, but we all agreed that this sounded unique and ordered it along with a pepperoni pie and the picante pie. All of the pizzas were really good, they make the dough pretty thick and use a lot of cheese. The surprisingly best one out of the three pizzas we tried was the onion pizza. It was absolutely delicious! If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend coming and trying out the onion pizza. Even if you have to wait in line, the wait is not too long since they have a huge dining area in the back. The place was packed, and because it was so busy, the service was on the slow side. One of my favorite meals I had in Buenos Aires and the first meal I had during my trip. My hotel was walking distance from the restaurant it was packed, but we were able to find seating. The pizza is unlike anything I can describe based on pizza I've had in the US. The provolone cheese and onion combo was my favorite. I drank a whole pitcher of sangria mainly bc my Spanish wasn't the greatest. I did drink a whole pitcher of sangria by myself. The service was fast, reliable, and friendly. I only ordered Spanish and my mozo(waiter) spoke slower for me to practice and gave me tips. Would definitely come again read more

The pizza was amazing! The style is from Genoa, Italy. I never been to Italy, so I can't compare but as of now it is the best pizza I have ever had! Service is real quick and they are trying to attend all tables, so don't get upset if you can't get their attention real fast. read more
