We slept in one of the rooms - the experience was not like the slogan said "simply letting relief" it was over the top loud, we heared every single step from all other guests, since the floor was made out of wood which creaked eacht time somebody set foot on it. the other guests were really loud, were having party all night long, and we were expacting the owner to guard the rest time more, but he did say nothing. the price for all of that is way to high. There are better places to stay in that area, although i have to admit, the wood around the house and the looking of the house was traditional very nice.

My husband and I had my wedding here in August of 2012 and my we couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out. From help organizing the DJ, flowers, chapel, and special food requests, to bookin gour family and friends for the overnight party, Frau Sharfegger and her family were the nicest, most accomodating hosts we could ask for. We have also been back since then for coffeee and cake and family dinners. Frau Sharfegger is always eager to greet us and make us feel at home. And you can't beat the views!

Singula Gasthof
Just left this hotel after visiting my daughter who is studying in Payerbach. First, I will say…read morewhat is good about Guesthouse Singula. The staff that we encountered upstairs (the hotel) and the downstairs (restaurant) were lovely. However, all of the rooms DO NOT have toilets. There are three common toilets in the hall. There's no sound absorption so every time someone unlocks their door at night to use the bathroom, talks or walks everyone hears it. The hotel sits on a busy road with traffic (many motorcycles & semi's) buzzing by at all hours. The weather was in the 80's during our stay and our room was stifling. Worsened when we closed the window to keep the noise down. There are no coffee makers, soap, shampoo, lotion, conditioner, tissue or hair dryer. However, the most negative part of our stay was our experience with the owner. The owner is an (I'm choosing my words wisely) unethical and bad man. When my daughter made the reservation on Booking.com she called the hotel and was assured by the front desk staff that since we were unsure how long we would stay in Payerbach we needed the ability to alter our reservation at the back end. The staff member said yes, that when we arrived the hotel could cancel the nights that we weren't going to stay. After 4 nights, we decided to leave sleepy Payerbach and the owner would not let us pay for only the 4 nights. He made us pay the 8 nights. We called booking.com and they were fantastic at trying to help us negotiate with the owner but even they became exasperated by his refusal. He said that there are no visitors this week so how is he going to make money. He also insisted that while visiting in the USA that Hotels did the same to him. It was awful. Even the staff was upset by his actions and they apologized profusely. I have been a Flight Attendant for 30 years so I am speaking from vast experience. I will never stay here again. This is barely a one star hotel. Please BEWARE!

While this is actually a classical Austrian style 'heuriger', the portion size and quality of the food is that of fine dining (Note: apparently also a regular restaurant in fall/winter which explains a lot). I could not recommend this place more, well worth the drive if you are not nearby. For desert, ask for the fresh locally produced ice cream, it is not on the menu but truly some of the best ice cream I have ever had. The staff even noticed that we had been there before - it was our second time - the owner came out personally to write out the check and you could tell this man truly cares about his establishment and his employees.

The place is a combination of ideas: shopping/eating/reading/garden. Now at first this description could put off a lot of people, but this place has found the right layout to allow certain aspects not put you off too much. Trust me, when you enter the layout will capture your curiosity and you will want to go around and discover all the sorts of things they have to offer. The kitchen was adequate, nothing incredibly mind blowing but they served classic Austrian dishes at quality levels. At all four seasons can you enjoy this place, but i would advice spring/summer a good destination. The garden is huge and lovely where you can basque in the sun and enjoy a bite or drink. The gardens are used for weddings and ceremonies too. During the winter you can find a table between bookshelves looking outside to the snow. Keep in mind, weekends could be busy. Also one would need a car to get there. If you are a group, perhaps call and make a reservation.
