The funeral director did a great job of embalming a decedent and dressing my neighbor beautifully to provide a final positive viewing memory. The body viewed added a personal touch of the decedent as the funeral director allowed personal items as small stuff animals, and religious items as two religious rosaries wrapped around the hands. There is a kneeling ledge for family and loved ones to pray and/or ponder in deep thought front and center of the decedent. I was gazed in awe with the funeral director's quality work of embalm who carefully position the hand one above the other looking very subtle and natural, cosmetize to groom and dress beautifully. The lip stick and cosmetic applied appears very natural to match the decedent's skin which I am very impressed of the quality work. Embalming a decedent makes a significant visible difference. There is abundant seating in the viewing room and COVID-19 compliance of six feet social distancing. Lighting was very dingy and the room appears tatty and derelict in need of an upgrade for 2021 era. Cassese Funeral Home produces Catholic laminated memorial cards for your attendees. The decedent's family displayed photos and there was a guest book for attendees to sign. Cassese provides floor standing easels and console tables to display photos of the decedent's life. Cassese allows the family to provide a pastor to perform an abridged religious ceremony to bless the decedent. I am deeply sadden for the loss of my beloved neighbor. Cassese Funeral Home has a free parking lot available for guests.

She was very sweet and empathetic while preparing the arrangements for my grandmother's funeral service. It was overwhelmingly touching that she, on her own doing, added special sentimental details during the services. On the day of the service, she prayed with us and guided through each step, ensuring we felt supported as a family. Following that, we were then led in a procession to pass my grandma's house. It was then that Dori got out of her car and put a beautiful pink rose in front of my grandma's house to honor her. The procession led us to her church service and the pallbearers were professional and respectful while carrying her casket to and from the hearse to the church. The next moment was so sweet and carrying on behalf of Dori. During our first initial meeting, my mother had mentioned where my grandma, her mother, had worked for over 40 years. My mother explained just in conversation how she built her career and loved her job, while still being a wonderful mother and wife. As the mass ended and we headed to the cemetery, we were led past the building in which my grandma worked for so many years. Dori was so attentive and listened to my mother so intensely on our first meeting and added the special detail of passing the building that she had worked so many years ago. We then found out at the cemetery that Dori had planned that sweet gesture to honor my grandmother. We were all so taken back in a wonderful way. Unfortunately recently we had to plan my cousins services right after Christmas so we contacted Caggianos again. They were again very helpful and kind...Then the most terrible situation happened, eight days after my cousin suddenly passed my sister also passed away suddenly and tragically. Not only was Michael and Pat and all the workers here so helpful, they offered us their unwavering support through this entire process. We ultimately decided to have all the services for both family members within a three day period. Michael and Pat were there for us from beginning to end. We couldn't have had more perfect people to help us during the worst time of our lives. It is impossible to explain my sincerest gratitude and appreciation for everything they did for us. They felt like family and they treated us that way. I've never felt so taken care of by people who we didn't know well before these tragedies. Our limo driver Joe was also so kind and helpful throughout the day. We were all in such a daze and had such a hard time getting through everything. Without their support and love I don't think we would have made it through the way that we did. I can't say enough good things about this funeral home and the people who work here. My cousin came to the wake at 7. He didn't know my mother in law's last name .my cousin who's a dark skinned minority asked "is this the only wake going on now? "and the guy told him " you're not in the right place " since he wasn't caucasian like everyone else at the funeral. Mind you this was the only wake going on at the time. Then the wake ended at 7:00 and we were all waiting to use the bathroom it was like 7:15 and the guy walks by me (I'm a minority, my husband is white) and says " you know we're closed -"then he shows his watch to me and taps it with his index finger loudly like 3 times in my face . His tone of voice was like he was talking down to me. I got so mad. . I told him he was being inconsiderate and then he says " we close at 7- even the family already left!" That's when my husband started getting more upset and said WE ARE THE FAMILY - that's my mother that just died- and this is her daughter in law and granddaughters . The guy was so rude and insensitive. He apologized after but idk if he meant it. Then we told the funeral director in the morning. Apparently the guy already told him his side of the story. And the funeral director's response was " he's been working with us for 10 years." thats an insensitive response too. He basically minimized the situation and sided with the employee .So they basically made it look like my husband overreacted. The employee should have been more professional and tactful in how he spoke to us, We were debating whether we should post a review but now we feel we need to let the public know if you are considering this place that we want you to know what we experienced. Insensitive people should not be working in the funeral home industry. He was clearly racist- we are already mourning and we had to put up with this ! I did not want to put one star either but I had to post a star to post this review. . I know they will turn around and post something that makes them seem compassionate but WE KNOW WHAT WE EXPERIENCED! The whole family is still in shock about his behavior. We just lost our loved one and he made it feel WORSE. I know it might not make a difference but we cannot have other people experience this type of behavior too!
