This place was certainly a hidden gem when we visited this past weekend. The server gave us great recommendations based on what kind of wine we were hoping to try. So I ended up getting a glass of pinot red wine and my friend got the Sauvignon de blanc white wine it was very refreshing indeed. It was so cozy because of the fireplace near the table so relaxing indeed. However, the only thing I would suggest they change is the premade charcuterie board they serve it would be better if it was fresh. But everything else absolutely amazing and keep up the good work!!

Nestled down an alleyway, the Galante Tasting Room is a hallmark of Carmel's rich history. Galante has roots tied to the town's founder and make wine that reflects it. Service was attentive and friendly.. clearly explaining the history behind each wine and their characteristics. My tasting ($35) included: 1. 2022 Wagon Wheel White Sauvignon Blanc 2. 2021 Almond Flat Pinot Noir 3. 2021 Red Rose Hill Cabernet 4. 2021 Legacy Red Blend 5. 2021 Blackjack Pasture Cabernet I wouldn't say this is a "take my money" situation but it's damn near close. I managed to restrain myself to only a bottle as opposed to a case! Yummy Certified!

Small tasting room off main streets (follow the alley to Galante). Lots of big, bold reds is what they are known for. The service is friendly. The decor is Western and they are one of the first wine tasting rooms in the area. Lots of history. A good place for reds and something more unique (vs standard wine tasting rooms)

Amazing reds! I happened to pop in here while wandering by and wanting to do a wine tasting. I'm so glad I stumbled across this winery and had such a great time! I sat inside but they have a lovely little outdoor area with a few small tables, too. Toby was working and I very much enjoyed his service and conversation! Additionally, since it was Easter, they had a few little plastic eggs hidden around with chocolates and $ off tickets inside which I thought was such a cute idea. Loved this "country wine" and bought a bottle to take home!

This was a really cool find. We were walking down the main road and found a cute, majestic alley that led us to this tasting room. The people who run the show here were super friendly and accommodated our party of five for a tasting. They even catered to our preferred flavor profiles when it came to red vs. white wines. It was really great to experience local wines. I found their Chardonnay to be delicious, along with a red which was an ode to Big Little Lies. We tasted five different wines for $30, a steal!! Definitely give this place a try.

We had a great time in this tasting room, the staff (Jimmy) was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Pours were generous and we really enjoyed the decor and relaxed vibe.

Toby was a great host guiding us through the amazing Galante wines! Delicious varietal of red wines. He was very knowledgeable and the wines were amazing!!!

A small tasting room but good staff. The owner grew up as a cowboy so the wine bottles have cowboy philosophies printed at the back, which sometimes are funny but common sense stuff. They have petit Sarah and mostly cabs. The sister vineyard is owned by the wife which has more Pinot selection. Their 2019 legacy cab is my fav with enough tanning and a good body. The 2018 bulls eye dessert wine did a nice finishing. For $25, you can taste 5 wines from the menu. The wines we tasted were all grown in their estate and locally.

I had high hopes for this place. Not only because it was recommended by our hotel but because I did my research and reviews appeared to be good. However, the woman who attended the bar on 12/17 made us feel very unwelcomed. 1. There are two ways to get to this place. One off the side street and one through a welcoming lit up hallway leading you to an art gallery and chocolate place. The winery is around the way. We had our puppy with us and I had asked if it was ok to go inside with our dog. She looked at him and said, "he gives me a bad vibe" if he's going to bark then no. Excuse you! Dogs are great judges of character so what does that say about you? I absolutely was appalled! What horrible customer service to offend someone's dog. I definitely did not want to spend any $$ at this establishment. Like Julia Roberts said, "BIG MISTAKE"! We were happy to buy a case of wine elsewhere! I wouldn't come here ever again

After obtaining a Priority Wine Pass for a Napa trip earlier in the year, my goal was to use it to use it as much as possible before it expired, so to that end, we drove up the coast the weekend before Christmas, tasting a lot of great wine for free... this was one of our stops because it was on the wine pass. It's normally $20 for a tasting, which is definitely on the high side, but acceptable if they're doing something really unique, or if the wine is amazing. I'd call the wine here "fine", so I'm pretty glad we didn't have to pay for it. The tasting list we tried included one pretty good sauvignon blanc, one pretty good pinot noir they were selling for $50 (at *that* price point I've had much better), one pretty mediocre malbec blend that tasted like a $10 wine being sold for $30, one pretty mediocre cab that tasted like a $15 wine being sold for a whopping $65... and then our server, who seemed rather preoccupied (or perhaps just wanted us to leave because our tasting was comped?), insisted we'd tried all 5 - that's the first time that's ever happened in all the wineries I've tasted at, and I've been to a lot of wineries. It was pretty awkward. We did manage to convince her that she was wrong, but it took a couple awkward minutes. Honestly, I would've been ok skipping it, the last one on the list (a cab/malbec blend) was a. a wine club exclusive, so we couldn't have bought it if we'd wanted to, and b. also not amazing I'd give it three stars to taste for free, maybe even 3 1/2 if I could - for free, I'd be happy to give them another try if I were back in the area (since I do seem to be in the minority in not being impressed - maybe they were having an off week. And honestly, if you visit wineries very often in a year, and they're still running their Groupon, which they've been doing for a while, it'd be silly *not* to pick up a wine pass). If I'd paid $20 for the tasting, I'd rate them lower than that, though.

Fabulous wines. We were really surprised as they are head and shoulders above all the other eu es we tasted in Carmel. Toby was wonderful (tasting room in Carmel) and we enjoyed the entire tasting experience. Highly recommend. Don't miss this gem.

We visited there on the recommendation from a sommelier in Paso Robles based on their excellent sparkling wines. You have choice of ordering a glass of any of the wines or the tasting flight. My partner decided to go with a glass of the Brut Rose whilst I chose the tasting flight (5 wines for $40). All of the wines here are expertly made and of a beautiful style. I can't say there wasn't a wine here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The Brut Rose is a beautiful champagne style rose. The Rose of Pinot Noir was also excellent. A fantastic light yet flavorful wine. The chardonnay was also excellent and of a beautiful style with just a touch of oak. Next was their Passetoutgrain, which is a blend of gamay noir and pinot noir. Also in the tasting were two pinot noirs, the base pinot noir and the El Bec. Both were beautiful expressions of pinot noir. Wonderful balance of fruit, earth and spice. Finally, we had to try the Brut Cuvee, which is only offered by the glass. A truly beautiful wine reminiscent of the Champagne region. Service was from a couple of friendly and very knowledgeable attendants. The glassware here is beautiful and perfect for the wine served. The wines were all served at the proper temperature. And the pours were of a generous volume such that you could fully experience the wines. If you're in Carmel, you owe it to yourself to visit Caraccioli.

We went in with pretty high hopes but ended up feeling underwhelmed by the offerings. A lot of the wines tasted watered down, mild, and somewhat similar to one another. The charcuterie and cheese pairing was also disappointing, especially when compared to Napa, where tastings often feature thoughtfully curated cheeses and meats paired with each wine. That said, the staff were very kind and informative. They explained each wine carefully and in an engaging way, which definitely helped make the experience enjoyable overall. That said, I was shocked and disappointed to learn that the tasting room will be closing in March and apparently the Talbot wine production facility on River Road has already been shuttered.
