The recliners work quietly and smoothly, and I've never had a problem with the reserved seating. The staff at the snack counter are friendly and efficient. In general it's a bit older and some of the new theatre gloss has worth off, but I like this place a lot and I'll definitely be back. On a personal note, this is the last place I saw my sister-in-law before she died unexpectedly. We saw Wonder Woman together. Because of that I'll always think this place is just a bit special.

This is important because I was going to IMAX 3-D and he forgot or just didn't know that he needed to give me my glasses. I had approached a different attendant and he gave me my glasses and returned just before the movie had started. The experience was great up until the last 10 minutes of the movie when the lights came on destroying the experience. it sounds like they have employees they have working their currently do not live up to the excellent service they have been providing for the past several years. .

When you walk in there's an automated kiosk on the left and you can take escalator, elevator or stairs. Extremely accessible. One mistake I made was I booked the seat 23 and 24 which was on the opposite side. The seats didn't incline but you can adjust the intensity. I would say the DBOX programming was okay but not amazing, my mother criticized how some moments the chair randomly shook. It was my first time experiencing DBOX. I was sort of expecting it similar to my experience at Universal/Adventure island muffets show. Sadly it was quite muted for an experience. Having tried the regular theatre, the 4dx and the dbox, I would say dbox prevents you from snoozing for sure. Still a fan of the Netflix and Disney plus. But certainly another way to enjoy yourself and be amused.

It was and still continues to be fun. I had a number of SCENE points to burn. I decided to use them towards a free movie. I did a search and found this Cineplex. I redeemed my points to see Photograph using the Cineplex app. I took in a matinee. I had no problem finding the theatre. There was plenty of parking. There were also a number of restaurants around the theatre. Cool! I headed into the theatre. It is your typical Cineplex with kiosks to buy tickets, a ticket counter to purchase tickets from a human being, an arcade area, and concession stands. I liked everything. I didn't buy any snacks. I brought in a bottle of Diet Coke instead. It went unnoticed. The man scanned my ticket. He was nice and hoped that I would enjoy the movie. I used the women's washroom. It has a TV in there. The colour scheme is bright and cheerful. The sink area has pretty lighting, so you can apply your makeup or look at the dried mustard that you forgot to wipe off your face after consuming a hot dog in the dark. The washroom was clean. The theatre that I was in was spacious. The seat that I was in was comfy. I stretched my legs. The screen was crisp, although there were issues trying to get the movie's audio to start at first. All was fixed after the first trailer had ended. Patrons watching the movie with me were respectful. Yes! They weren't disruptive during the entire movie, which I appreciated. Unique Indie cinema experience in the Kitchener Waterloo area!…read more It's a rare event when you find out that the town you live in has an Indie Theatre. We found out about this location from our REC 280 course at the University of Waterloo. Although it was part of an assignment to visit this location, the experience was thoroughly enjoyed and as a group we vowed to return at a later date. As students from University of Waterloo we were excited to be supporting local businesses. Additionally, we were offered a discounted price if we purchased out ticket from the turnkey desk at the Student Life Center About Princess Cinemas: From researching online prior to the trip, we found out that this is a true Canadian independent cinema that is privately owned and owner-programmed. They have been open for over 30 years and currently have two locations in Waterloo, Ontario. Planning the trip: We started off by visiting the Princess Cinema website online. Their website was very organized and easy to navigate. The homepage of the website featured the movies that were currently playing at the cinema. This being an Indie theatre there were lots of critically acclaimed and Oscar nominated movies playing. The website was very detailed and provided a summary of the movie and the timings it was playing. Once we decided on a movie and the time as a group, we went to the turn key desk at our student center and purchased the tickets. There is also an option to purchase the tickets online via Paypal for general admission. Experience at the attraction: We decided to drive to the theater. From the University of Waterloo the drive was around 10 minutes. Since the theatre is at a prime location there were lots of parking spots available. Once we arrived at the theater we felt an indie/old-school vibe. There was a ticket booth at the entrance. Making our way inside we decided to purchase some popcorn, as we had read raving reviews of it online. The movie hall itself was very clean and retro looking with red seats. Here, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Post trip: After the movie showing we decided to get some coffee at Princess Café with is conveniently located near the theatre. The coffee was of great quality and the staff were very friendly. The wait time was a bit high due to the place being under staffed but overall the experience was good! Demographic witnessed: movie watchers of all ages, ranging from students to retirees. Price: $9 for students and $12 for general audience (Including Taxes) Quality: Quality of the food and beverages was good as compared to large chain cinemas. Accessibility: Location is in the heart of uptown Waterloo and is easily accessible through driving and busses. Parking is abundant and there were no problems locating a parking close to the theatre. Uniqueness as an attraction: This theatre is a unique experience in the Kitchener Waterloo area since indie cinemas like this one are quite rare in Canada! This place is a must-visit for any tourists in this region.
