Came here for the second time, my review is on an older guy who attempted to do my nails, he clearly didn't know what he was doing, I've watched nail techs do my nails and the way he applied the acrylic was horrifying, too much acetone, super watery and messy, to thick of a bond. On top of that he filed my nails completely down when I asked him to just soak the acrylic off because I was about to walk out with ugly nails plus an infection. The acrylic was stuck to my skin on the side of my nails ugh horrible experience. Didn't even let him cut my nails because he kept hurting me. read more

I went in to get a full set acrylic done. Their prices are fair, I hardly ever get my nails done though because this is the closet studio to where I live. They are honestly rude, you can gel they are making fun of you and what you asked for, this time the lady did my nails so thin several of them broke and chipped with in a week. I'm giving this business 1 start for being clean. I will never go there again do to the complete lack of care, concern, of valuing my time. I scheduled an appointment for 2 pedicures at 1:00 pm. We arrived on time, they were "short handed" and running "a little behind" we waited 1.15 to be put in a chair then waited another .25 min before we had someone start our service. When I asked why my scheduled appt. was not honored and why I wasn't contacted prior of their delay the owner had excuse after excuse. He apologized. I was at Barnes and nobles and saw this nail salon next door. I decided to drop by on a whim to get a pedicure. It was a Monday afternoon so it was not busy at all. There are plenty of seats though so I imagine that even on a weekend there wouldn't be too long of a wait I did a gel pedicure. Color options were great and the service was excellent! Galaxy nails is fast and convenient. I walk in and when I leave I have fancy nails. Chau and Kim are my favs but everyone that works there does decent work. However, they don't take sh$t from anyone. Come in with an attitude or demands and you will be ignored. The staff requires mutual respect and patience because the nail spa is often busy. I give up. I tried so hard to like this place. They seem to always have availability and are "nice" enough. I have been several times, the other times were neither terrible nor excellent. But this time...please see photo. Here are some other things I experienced. I saw a keurig coffee machine and asked "is the water from today?" The guy in charge had no idea. So I went to refresh it. That water was so stale and caked in the container it took me five minutes to wash the container. Coffee in hand, made by me for me...I sat down for a pedicure. I got burned by both the paraffin and the towel used in my deluxe pedicure, but otherwise the guy did a great job and it was a relaxing experience. But where the wheels came off is the manicure. The manicure stations are filthy. They are trying to conserve towels. And the results are pictured below. Not sure if they do a poor job on "regular" manicures to force the issue of getting more expensive gel or dip, but I specifically explained that my nails were already damaged from the gel and I needed to take a break. The place wasn't that bad, but one of the nail ladies wasn't very nice. She kept making tsk noises and seemed to be getting frustrated with me and my friend. We waited 45 minutes after our appointment because they kept taking people on and ignoring appts, and my friend asked for a free sugar scrub. I'm Vietnamese and the lady was basically complaining and insulting us that it wasn't even a long wait. I responded in Vietnamese and she became all nice all of a sudden. I've never had someone insult and get mad at someone and I always defend nail salons how they're not actually talking smack about you but this one time is such a disappointment. There was a young guy who was very nice which is why I gave the 3 stars. Overall, my nails are okay. I've been through way better. The lady didn't do that great of a job of making my nails cut even and my cuticles were barely cut. She rushed through everything. I get that it was overwhelmingly busy but the store needs to make a cutoff and stop taking people in, especially with an appointment list. read more

I'm originally from the east Coast so I wasn't sure what to expect when getting my nails done here. 1st off all the receptionist was rude upon arriving. I'm not sure if she was overwhelmed but her customer service was poor. 2ndly I made a 2pm appointment for an SNS, a Pedicure and Eyebrows. The pedicure came out fine however the SNS experience wasn't the best. He soaked my hands in nail polish remover. I asked him to use the aluminum foil over the nails but he stated this way was quicker. He used the gel polish as a coat after using the powder. He then used the machine they use for gel to dry the powder. Therefore my nails look like gel and not SNS! I'm assuming they don't know how to properly use the SNS/Dipping powder. Also, I left with my looks looking dry as ever. He didn't use any cuticle oil or anything to wipe off the dry residue from having me soak my hands in nail polish remover. Lastly, when he walked me to get my eye brows done the table didn't look wiped down. The pillow was dirty as hell and there was hair on the table. I'm just not used to this kind of service. I'm very particular about where I get my nails done and I don't plan to ever come back. read more

A dear friend was visiting from out of town, and after many deliberations, we decided that a girl's day was needed, and in that case, oooobviously pedicures were in order. It was a Saturday afternoon, so certainly a popular time for that sort of activity, but as walk-ins at Galaxy Nails there was happily/surprisingly no wait! Hurrah! Now, I am horrid at making decisions, and when faced with that entire wall of nail polish, well...I sort of froze. They had soooo many brands: OPI, Essie (my fav!), Wave, and Daisy (and I'm sure many more). I am always attracted to the really crazy colors, but after heading home with mustard yellow nails a few times, I've realized that they are much prettier in the bottle than on my body. The girl doing my nails agreed, and patiently helped me choose between the 8 or 50 bottles I was considering. They have massaging chairs, which is great, though theirs were over-enthusiastic, and more than once we had to mash some buttons, as they would suddenly cause your entire body to convulse. I'm not going to rule out user error, but still! We opted for the Deluxe Pedicure, which includes all your normal stuff, plus a paraffin dip for your tootsies AND a fab hot stone massage. And you get to choose your own scrub scent. YAS. Everything was very clean, which is always a concern, especially with pedis. Additionally, they offer waxing, facials, and eyelash extensions. Prices are so very reasonable, and I love that you can get a pedicure starting at $25 (seriously, where else, that isn't disgusting, is that an option?!), but if you want to treat yourself they have a whole array of varying options (even organic). They also seem to take nail art seriously, and while neither of us went that route, they had some beautiful examples displayed, and there are great photographs on Yelp showing it off as well. It is a large salon, with 10ish employees, so I think they can probably take walk-ins most of the time. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, and we even had a lively debate regarding what animal my purse is (top votes were a pig or anteater, but it's an armadillo!). The pedicures took a little over a half hour, but we stayed and chatted in our seats for a good long while, and no one disturbed us. My only very mild complaint is that I wish they would have done one more layer of polish, but it's no biggie. I rarely treat myself in this manner, but would return, and definitely recommend them. read more

They do a lovely job and really do all they can to meet your expectations and to do what you want in terms of design on your nails. My brother and I both came in as walk ins for both a pedicure, manicure and a full set and they seemed fairly busy and STILL got us in almost immediately and did a great job. As a new customer in 2018/2019 at the suggestion of a friend, I found my go to spot for pedicures. Most of my visits over the years have been really good. I've left happy with my pedicures which is the only service I'll do here as my experience with their nails were not it for me. I always get a deluxe pedicure and I've had several different technicians. Every male tech I've had were okay, not the greatest at pedicures and I wouldn't choose them to be my go to tech. I've brought relatives from out of state to this place as well as some that live close by to also frequent with me. I like they have several options for pedicures even though I stick with the same one I've been getting since day one. The owners were extremely polite the few times I brought my nieces in with me and made them feel special that they were out on a little treat day with their Auntie. They offer gel for pedicures as well as for your hands with a ton of colors. I don't do gel as for some reason it never stays on for me like it does for others. Their wall of regular polish works for me and I'm good for the next 2-3 weeks before returning. Tammy did a beautiful job on my nails. I asked her to do Ombré coffin nails and they were just how I wanted it. She is a skilled nail tech. I don't doubt whatever you want she would be able to give you the results. I enjoyed my pedi service too. They have several different types of pedi selections you could choose from. I chose the European pedi and it was spa vibes down to the cute tray setup. The one thing I absolutely loves is that they have all kinds of scent you can choose from for your pedi experience - rose, lavender, orange, etc. A lot of other places don't do have that option so it keeps the place unique and distinguished. Not to mention they have 12 pedi stations. I had a large bridal party outing and they had enough stations to accommodate us. I am impressed by the owner, Jeff. He was down in the weeds working hard like everybody else. Excellent service and made sure we had a good experience. Cute, clean, and organized shop. The pedicure started off promising, with all the trappings of a spa day I was eagerly anticipating. But, the lady who did my nail is so aggressive and annoyed when I ask her to do what I want. She told me that why I didn't tell her first (even I had shown the nail picture, but she doesn't know how to do it!) and told me I made her a waste of time. Also, She was on her phone the whole time when she did my nail! and spoke in her language with other staff about me. During the manicure, she was making my fingers bleed and so painful. Busy on Sundays. Be prepared to wait, even with an appointment. I had an appoint scheduled for 2:30pm. Sat me down 5 mins later. That was acceptable. Had me seated for 20 mins before anyone gave me an update. The water was cold on my feet. I was considering leaving and just making an appointment another day and as I started rolling down my pants, they acknowledged that someone would be with me soon. They warmed up the water and restarted my message chair. I decided to wait. 5 mins later pedicure begins. I would rather be told "there will be a 15-20 minute wait" than to be seated and kept waiting. That was my only frustration. Massage was great. Paint job was meh. Customer service was ok. I used to love this place. But will likely look for another place that's more attentive to the customer service experience. read more
