Great trail! I would say 'moderate' is a good way to describe the difficulty level. It is mostly uphill, but the grade is gentle.
There's lots of beautiful places to stop for a break, take out the camera, or sit for lunch! I'd say about .5miles from the end of the trail, there's a small bridge that would be nice to sit near. And obviously, I found a bench, though that is off the beaten path.
There is a decent amount of shade, though I still brought my sun hat. The terrain is mostly sandy, but there are a couple bridges, one cement path, and a couple slightly rocky areas. If you bring tennis shoes, chances are your feet will need a washing off after. I wore hiking boots and was okay.
There weren't many people out when we began around noon. There are plenty of bikers, so only use one earphone if you need something to listen to so you can stay alert.
Seems folks love to bring the dogs on this hike too- there's lots of great places to stop to let the dogs jump in the water!
Bring water! This hike drives up the thirst with all the small waterfalls around!
