Located on Laurier Boulevard, a major hotel and commercial artery, Place Ste-Foy is well known for its distinctive high-end and high-fashion offerings. Prestigious Canadian, European and U.S. retailers have chosen to settle in Place Ste-Foy, especially: Apple, Banana Republic, BCBG MAXAZRIA, Birks, Cheïkha, Marc Cain, Marciano, Lululemon, Bestseller, Lacoste, Michael Kors, Sephora, Simons, Signature Maurice Tanguay, Swarovski and Zara. In every store you walk in, the employees there were nice and helpful. There are so many stores selection and each one is unique. Depending on what you are looking for, I think price can be above average to high. Which is normal for a touristy destination. Loved the umbrella alley, the views of the river from the chateau, and the funiculaire! Make sure to bring cash that is less than $100 or 100CAD because they do not take that at the funiculaire.

CENTRALLY LOCATED DEPT STORE IN OLD QUEBEC…read more During our visit to Quebec City, we dropped by the Simons department store that is centrally located in Old Quebec on Cote de la Fabrique. It is near the Notre Dame Basilica de Quebec. Simons is a very small and quiet department store. Convenient for the tourist who forgot to pack something or now needs warmer clothing for the cold Quebec weather. We were surprised that Simons did not have a small giftware section where we might purchase a unique souvenir of our visit to Old Quebec that would not end up being a dusty tchotchke.

We were also able to buy souvenir treats like candies, maple syrup etc. cheaper, and of better quality, than the overpriced stuff you find in the touristy areas. The attractive entrance suggests an upscale indoor shopping galleria. Unfortunately, there was little to see or do in this dark poorly lit arcade. We enjoyed shopping at a very nice store specializing in maple syrup products. Other than this one attractive shop, there was an art gallery, a money exchange and empty storefronts.
