This was a cute unassuming cafe. I actually never heard about it before and was in the area and hungry. I got the crestwood chicken bacon & caramel macchiato. The sandwich was made to order and wrapped beautifully. There's a variety of options of hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast, and salads. I go to a doctor in this building and I didn't think much of the cafe at first, that it was just a cafe in the building. I was wrong!! This place has become one of my favorite parts about my doctor visits. The food is delicious and fresh. The servers and staff always have a big smile on and go the extra mile. I can't believe it took me so long to give Gallery Cafe a try. To be honest, saw it for the first time on Google Maps/Yelp a month ago and glad my friend was also willing to give it a try today for lunch. This place is pretty integrated within the corporate office buildings and hidden from the view of main streets - everyone we saw who got food here seemed to work nearby (and wearing business casual). There are lots of options here. It's a Korean inspired cafe that sells sandwiches, omelettes, soups with a Korean flair. Additionally, they also have staples like japchae, bibimbap, and other rice dishes. There's also a variety of drinks and chips that you'd see at a deli. There seems to be an extensive coffee selection and they use Illy beans. CHICKEN TERIYAKI - 11.99 It comes in a big takeout container with a heaping amount of chicken on top and a bed of rice (you can choose between white or brown) with stir-fried green bell peppers and romaine lettuce in between. They also have "Yum yum" sauce which you can ask to drizzle on top to enhance the flavor. Not sure what it was, but it was creamy - maybe sesame based? I'd personally ask for a light amount of sauce for the food to not be overly saturated. Overall, the chicken was tasty and cooked well. You really get a good bang for your buck. It was a lot of food for me and I'm glad I can get a second meal out of it. I'll definitely be back soon to try out other options they have like their bibimbap with bulgogi or the japchae. I had an appointment in the same building, first patient of the day. As I was walking back to my car afterwards, I noticed this cafe. I was looking for coffee. This East Asian cafe is large in size and serves breakfast and lunch. I ordered a latte and a 2-egg and cheese croissant sandwich (two eggs in one sandwich not 2 egg sandwiches). However, there was a bit of a language barrier because they charged me for two sandwiches but they quickly refunded me when they realized their mistake. (The sandwich is named 2 egg on the menu because they use two eggs.) As of December 29th 2021, this cafe was open. read more

Great hidden gem in the Ballston area! As others have noted, the location is not really visible from the street but the inside of the cafe is surprisingly spacious and bright. I got the steak bulgogi, which was reasonably priced, delicious, and with a good portion of meat. I will definitely be returning in the future to try some of their sandwiches. So rude and unprofessional. I have an office in the building that I work in which allows me to use this business for breakfast and lunch. I ordered both breakfast for my manager and coworker today. We came down to get forks for lunch which wasn't purchased there and WAS AMBUSHED WITH THE MANAGER stating "we have to pay for the forks". She stated "this forks weren't free and that they were for customers only AND NOT FOR THE PUBLIC". We explained how we purchased breakfast this morning from there and she asked us "to confirm our order" then followed up with "well now is lunchtime that was breakfast". CONTINUED TO YELL AT US TO PUT THE FORKS DOWN. We asked how much are the forks were , stating we don't mind paying and she basically stated that we couldn't even buy them, that we will need to order lunch from there to get a fork. That is absolutely ridiculous because we are always going there for breakfast and lunch. The coffee also isn't the best. I WILL NEVER ORDER HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!! read more

I've been getting drinks, snacks and great salads here for over 3 years and it's always so clean, pleasant and the workers are friendly and helpful. They seem so well run and organized. I came upon this cafe by accident. My freshly-made egg and bacon sandwich I had was quite good. It was not greasy at all. The Illy coffee was really good. I had drip coffee but they also served it as espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc. The place is totally clean and comfortable. Good place for me to eat breakfast and read my paper once in a while. It looks listed as closed on Yelp but it's definitely still open as I was there this morning. I love love love this place on all fronts. It's seems like general office cafe but really delivers much more than that. Food is great, prices are better and service is the cherry on top. I crave a breakfast burrito with southwest sauce and an illy coffee on the reg. Usually get that at least once a week. I've had random lunch items and everything has been great. In reference to the coffee... I ordered a vanilla late. The coffee was a little bitter and there was almost no vanilla flavor. However, I do like my coffee on the sweeter side. For me, this was a miss. In reference to the shop itself...good vibes, very open, great work space. They were playing Christian music when I was in there, I enjoyed it. In reference to the staff... we had a nice lady, her accent was a bit hard to understand at times. When I asked for more vanilla she gave me more without hesitation. My son and I were pleasantly surprised by Gallery Cafe Ballston! We were originally planning to go to True Food Kitchen for a healthy lunch but were short on time and this was close by. I was expecting just basic sandwiches, but they had much more to choose from....all the items on the menu looked great. I ordered the beet salad which was very fresh, tasted great, and was filling. My son ordered the bibimbap (no egg) and loved it. He typically doesn't like a lot of veggies, but ate this all up because it was a perfect mix of meat, rice, veggies, and spicy sauce. Gallery Café (open Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm) is a new breakfast and lunch café, serving "signature" sandwiches, rice bowls (rice and meat in a bowl), and pre-made / made-to-order salads. As of this review, I have only been to both of the "soft open" days and sampled the Crestwood Club and Carved Fresh Turkey Sandwiches, as well as the "tasting menu" items which included their salads (I tried the To The Beet, Farmer's Market, Chicken Caesar) and hot entrees (salmon, Cajun shrimp, pulled pork, teriyaki ribeye steak, amongst others). The combination of ingredients results in a tasty sandwich. Their fresh turkey sandwich, for example, includes cucumber, alfalfa sprouts, homemade cranberry relish and avocado. Their hot entre items really shined -- salmon with a spicy hot hint, pulled pork with a selection of four sauces, for example. Their pre-made salads had very flavorful and delicious profiles, as well. The chicken in the Caesar salad, for example, was flavored to perfection -- no bland-tasting Caesar here. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the interior ambiance is bright and cheerful. Large LED menu displays and comfortable couches round out the modern feel. The only thing to keep in mind is the café does NOT face Glebe Road. It is in the back of the office building, facing a pleasant courtyard, a half-a-block from the intersection of Fairfax Drive and North Glebe Road (the northwest tip of Arlington's Ballston Quarter) -- the café is actually set back facing North Vermont Street. read more

Good salads...really big and great selection of toppings. Nice selection of snacks. They need to put the prices on the snacks but there's a different sort of variety like gourmet chips and ranch peas. I have not yet tried their espresso bar but it is a great alternative to the three Starbucks in the neighborhood. They serve illy coffee and appear to have specials!
