So how many of you are guilty of stopping at the Tim Hortons/Wendy's hybrid when you roll through Edson on your way to/from Edmonton? I know I am. I don't think of Edson as more than a place to use the bathroom and refuel on coffee before continuing on my journey. Today however, I got the chance to explore the Edson Visitor Centre and Galloway Station museum. It's such a great little stop with a great little museum. By no means is it huge, but it's a great little space that you could easily spend a half hour wandering around. If you are interested in seeing the mountain animals up close they have some great "stuffed" displays that you can touch and feel. Most museums keeps those things behind glass but it's really interactive! The gift shop is filled with local gifts- and really local like right from Edson. There are huge picnic areas outside and a little coffee shop located inside. Definitely take the extra 30 mins next time you're in town to check it out!! Oh and get your picture by the giant squirrel! read more
