The front desk workers are awesome but the general manager is a jerk (manly looking Asian lady) .. First of all everything is over priced , the same 511 shoes that cost over $100 at galls you can get at Burlington for $60, same thing with the jackets -you will get a way better deal at Burlington saving you at least $20-50, galls will butter you up by offering a 10% discount on the next purchase but that doesn't matter because they are already making a killing over charging you . if you try to return anything you better make sure you've never worn it ,not once -even to try it on to see if it fits because they won't refund. if you need to go galls because your job requires it , make sure to directly go through your company, don't think you'll get reimbursed later if you decide to go on your own read more

Biggest uniform store around. They didn't have the holster I wanted in stock, but I ordered it and received it in a matter of days. Good selection of gadgets. Very helpful staff that knows the merchandise. My Pug was allowed inside even though she's not a Malinois and enjoyed shopping. read more

Great staff and good selection. I brought them them my broken handcuffs and they replaced it at no charge. Although, it took a year to get the new handcuffs. The folks in the back who do all the sewing, alterations, and embrodery deserve a two thumbs up. There's been many occassions when they will stop what their doing to finish a "small sewing job" for me. read more

I went in for a basic uniform. I purchased it, but upon checkout, I was told that the embroidery can take up to 14 days! However, Nancy had it completed in less than 24hrs! Trying on uniforms and locating the right products for work is one of my least favorite things to do, but Kierra makes the process easy. On numerous occasions, I happen to end up working with her, and she is always professional, pleasant and hard working. Kierra knows what she is doing and gets me the appropriate sized uniform attire and equipment for my job. She also is very kind when doing so. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this place, because my experience was fantastic. I had just gone to butler's in El Cerrito and was not only treated like human garbage, but also had to deal with derogatory comments pertaining to my size and weight. (I'm a pretty dramatic pear shape, size 12) anyway, I called galls and they put sizes on hold for me, and when I got there nothing fit again- ahhhhh! But Olivia helped me for nearly an hour finding pants and boots. She told me about other brands and offered to special order things as well. The other two women in the store were so lovely, and helpful- and David in the back was not only hilarious but gave me loads of useful information. Long story short- go here. They have an amazing selection, are so helpful and make the experience really pleasant. read more

I will never come back to this place! My husband is a sheriff deputy and needed some boots so we came here to buy them. Not one person helped us as we were looking through the selection of boots and then they only had three pairs of the boots we were looking for. As we stood in "line" to pay not one of the five people at the counter seemed to want to help us. We stood there as they rung up person after person, completely ignoring us. Maybe they didn't like that we only had one item and not a whole bunch of stuff like the other customers. Maybe we weren't good enough with our one purchase that would cost almost $200. Every other employee was calling out names for other customers or leaving the counter to go help customers with their hands full of items. We finally had to loudly ask someone to ring us up. This place SUCKS!!! I tried buying trauma kits from them, but was very disappointed. They have OFFENSIVELY HIGH prices and their trauma kits are full of bandaids. What can you expect, they are just a security guard uniform company. If you are looking for REAL trauma gear don't go to these guys. I purchased from another company called Mobil Medic Trauma Gear instead. Google them or look em up on eBay. Unfortunately, living north of the GG, my shopping options are limited, whether for work or pleasure. I try to support my local uniform shop, but everything has to be ordered and the selection is poor. Galls has thus far had everything I have ever needed in stock....and was even able to embroider and sew patches on 2 sets of uniforms while I waited. I have never written a Yelp Review before, but then again, I have never been so disappointed with a business. Unfortunately, I keep returning to Galls for the convenience factor (location), but every single time I leave, I walk out of the store disappointed, frustrated, and more times than not cursing the place. Turn around time isn't good, customer service has been mostly bad, and quality of work has been absolutely awful (shirts tailored to small, pants to short, buttons missing). Convenience is a big factor for all of us, but if possible, I would recommend going some place else for your uniform needs. read more

Nancy was extremely knowledgeable with all services provided at this store. I came in for embroidery services, pants, and boots. She helped me thoroughly and gave me her honest opinion and feedback when it came to boots. She gave me a really great and easy experience and I was able to find and get everything I needed in 20 minutes. I even got my jacket that I had my name embroidered and patches put on by the time I was done shopping for my pants and boot! read more

Good Customer service... however, as an EMS worker they seem to carry nothing for me. I have stopped by on many occasions asking about various common products that they carry in their catalog, but they never seem to have the particular item in stock. Yes, everything can be ordered, but if I'm going to wait 2 weeks for something to arrive, I might as well purchase it from Ebay or another online site that offers it cheaper. I have been compelled to do business with this outfit for many years, and I'm fed up. This is the worst uniform and equipment vender in the bay area. Their stock is constantly depleted. There is no diversity of selection. Special orders take way too long to ship, and you have to pay in advance for a product you're not sure you can use. Even the sizing on custom orders are incorrectly taken, and the alterations are badly stitched. The help is courteous, but the management is appalling. Do yourself a favor, if you can. I wish there was another uniform store I could take my business to. This place is terrible. You have to wait months for your order to arrive, then the alterations are another waiting game. No-customer service says they only have one tailor working (the other one quit last week), so why haven't they hired a replacement or two?? Ordered a pair of rain pants. Told they would come in a particular date. I called and they advised that they weren't in yet. Call back in a week. Called in a week and they r still not in. It was my first time and it will be my last time ordering from Galls. I ordered a pepper spray on sale, and for some reason they canceled my original order and re-placed it a few days later under a different order #. and I had to call in to give them a new card number (since it was my first time ordering from them, I used a virtual card number with a limited amount allocation) and was told the order was canceled because of a system error with the order and it was re-entered. With all my years shopping online at various sites, that was the first time something that ridiculous has happened. After that was done, I was told to call in to check on whether or not the payment went through in a few hours. When I did that, they told me the item is out of stock and will be in-stock next week. So I waited for over a week and called in again to check on the status, and they told me the item won't be in-stock for another 3 weeks! I had to cancel the order and will not be buying from Galls ever again with their irresponsible behavior and buggy system. It was a worthless waste of my time. read more

Never ever go in there!! they never have your size, and if they do, they never have more than one of each, and if they order it for you it takes them three weekd to call you to pick it up and when you show up they cant find it!!! its happened TWICE!!! and I have only been there TWICE!!! thats it! The very worst uniform shop that I have ever been to. They take your measurements, you order and your money, then tell you that it'll be a couple of days. 6 weeks later. . . Your order comes in and it hasn't been hemmed correctly, even though they took your measurements prior and they have signs in the shop that state "Same day tailoring for minor alterations". So, I asked for it to be hemmed right there and they tell me they can't because they have no seamstresses on duty and I have to come back the next day. I looked in back and there were 3 there sewing away. Apparently they also lie to their customers as well. The next day I came in and asked for my order and the lady refused to help and told me to find Kevin and ask him for help. I find the guy and he tells me that I can wait, he was reading his email. After a few minutes the guy comes to me and asks what I need and I tell him I need my order. I get it and leave. After I get home I find out that only 1 pair of pants was correctly hemmed. I had to go to my local cleaners and have the other pair hemmed again. Ridiculous! read more
