My son was on a 4th floor apartment the furthest you could be from any door with a move to another apartment complex. I closed my apple watch steps and workout ring more than TWICE today if that gives you any idea... Jordan, Pierce and Kyle have to be the hardest working AND the darn nicest movers in the entire universe. Not one thing was broken, not one wall or piece of furniture was scratched. And they were so kind and cheerful- like how in the tarnation could anyone be so polite and happy while lifting heavy yhings in sweltering Columbia heat all freaking day?? And yet- they absolutely were. We ended up hiring these guys after our original move in date was botched and it was honestly a blessing in disguise. If you need anything moved- call them. We spent the evening cleaning and unpacking and I wished I could have kept those boys with us. They are THAT good! What I didn't like about carolina movers is that they didn't have the tools needed for the job.They had pliers and allen wrenches instead of power tools. They lost all the pieces to my 3 dresser mirrors, they had them mixed up with the wrong dressers and time was ticking. They left some furniture peices at the loading address so they couldn't install 1 set. They were nice young men but they did not have the strength to take some of my furniture upstairs.They really struggled. When reinstalling some of the furniture pieces, they were confused on how to put them back together. I called the manager and told him my concerns that these guys may need one other person. But he said he would have to charge me, instead of just satisfying the customer. It got very frustrating for me as a customer. I will never hire these guys again! read more

BEWARE!!! Gamecock Movers DESTROYED my items and cost me so much time and money (Many of THOUSANDS of dollars!!!). They showed up late. Came with a smaller truck saying their bigger truck we paid for broke down. No tools, wheel truck, or much other moving equipment. The supervisor said they would go get an additional truck if needed. They left an entire U-Haul full of belongings left at my home that I had to go move with my sick wife the next day after renting a truck myself. The took apart my desk, bed, easel, and lamps, and they could not get them back together and tore the lamp shades. I had to toss these items They dropped my 80" TV and broke the screen. They only started the bed's bolts without tightening them, which caused damage to the frame the first night it was slept on. I contacted the manager and sent him pictures showing this DESASTER who said, "Sorry, but there's nothing we can do about it." I asked for the owner, Dom, to call me, but the manager said, "He is always too busy to call anyone with complaints, so he will likely not return your call," which he did not, even here now it's a couple of weeks later. I feel this company is not professional, trustworthy, or reliable. However, I paid for my education to NEVER use Gamecock Movers again!!! Update: The manager reached out after a year of this incident and offered to pay for some of the damage they did, but not for all of it. I asked to speak with the owner, Dom, who I had requested to speak to initially. I was told that Dom would get the message and reach out. It's been several weeks and he has still not responded. Just a very sad and poorly ran business who does not accept any responsibility. Shame on you!!! read more

We used this company for our first move a few years and were so impressed that we hired them for our second move this past April. Unfortunately, what you see in the photos is how they left our furniture. The problems that went wrong that day are that the men insisted that they "got this" despite the pouring rain. They "got this" when my daughter told them they need to wrap the furniture. We had a laundry basket full of blankets and a roll of furniture plastic for their use. Once the furniture arrived to where we were, my husband called the owner/ manager. After some verbal exchange, the man ultimately told my husband, "sorry that happened to you". We were left with the feeling that because we moved out of state, this guy figured he'd never see or hear from us again. That's fine. I'll deal with it, but the best and worst kind of advertising is word of mouth. My home state is SC so I will be back, and I will continue to share this story. On that note, you can take your chances and maybe be able to leave a five star review, or end up just like us, "sorry that happened to you". Update: I reiterate that all of the damage that was caused was related to NOT wrapping the furniture by the movers, loading wood against wood, and putting cushioned furniture directly against the floor of the truck. There were plenty of blankets left over, and there was NO water damage. As for the insurance the company offers, it's maximum coverage Is for $500.00. read more

I had a special request about an outdoor kennel that breaks down into 3foot panels. Set up it is 10x13. I tried to tell them when I contacted them that I can take it apart because I put it together. It's a simple aluminum tube greenhouse/chicken coop you can get off Amazon. Well, they just kept saying "our truck can't fit something 10x13". These guys! We moved twice... 2nd and 3rd floor apartments, narrow walkways /stairs, in "hotter than 40 hells" weather. Dominic and his crew were SUPER fast. I knew after the first move that these guys would be our go-to guys for all future moves (travel nurse... we move back and forth a lot:) We moved ourselves in the past and I thought that beating up our furniture was the unfortunate part of moving but these guys showed us that no matter how heavy the furniture is...THEY have a way to move it... and you can get it on and off truck without needing furniture cover up paint or wall touch up paint! I moved over a holiday weekend during a heat wave of 100+ temps. Trevor and Daniel were awesome! They showed up right on time, worked hard and didn't once complain about how hot it was (especially since I was moving to a 2nd fl apt wout an elevator). If the heat effected them you couldn't tell. They never stopped moving. They wrapped my furniture up w padding and plastic wrap and packed the truck so well nothing shifted when opened at my next apartment.
