Some of the problems were obvious and others were hard to pinpoint, but the effect was a mishmash. My daughter called Susan and after several reassuring texts, made an appointment to come into The Wedding Dresser. From the get-go Susan understood what was wrong & how to fix it. Her team went to work. The dress was how it should have been - masterful work, a talented team, and able to pull it all off in record time!

I reached out to them to get a $650 dress slightly adjusted and hemmed. This was not a complicated…read morealteration as I as assured by the professional I ended up hiring (about 2h of work). Susan quoted me over $1200 for this adjustment, and when I said this was more expensive than my dress cost, I received the most unprofessional and rude response and was quite taken aback. "Yes, we pay humans who live and eat and pay rent in the United States, which is very different from the people who made your dress so it is usual that for dresses under $1000 alterations cost more than the dress. Good luck with your hunt." They don't know where I got my dress from, and I'm also someone living in NYC and doing my best. I think people are allowed to charge what they want or think their skill is worth, but I also think the wedding industry has lost their minds. I found an independent professional who did a beautiful job and charged a fair price. I have other dresses to be adjusted until my big day, and had considered saving them if I needed help for my main dress which will be more expensive, but based on this rude and entitled response, I already know to never go back to this business again.

The first was for my Maid of Honor dress for my sisters wedding. He made the dress really look the best it possibly could've and stayed in contact with me during the process. Could not have been happier with the way the dress fit in the end. The second time I saw Mark was equally as wonderful for a very different reason. I brought in a formal dress that I thought was too short and needed to be made into cocktail length. He saw me on short notice and fit me into a busy day. Once I got there and tried on the dress, he convinced me the dress was beautiful just as it was, even forgoing a paycheck for what he thought looked best. That's someone who cares more about making his clients look good than making money. Very hard to find in nyc. End of the day, mark is a talented, communicative, and detailed tailor but more importantly, he's an ethical and kind business man who'll do anything to make his clients look good. Cannot recommend him highly enough.

TL;DR: Mark is incredibly responsive and more amenable than any tailor that I've met to-date and…read moreI've been to quite a few of them. I took a new pair of trousers into Mark's shop yesterday (around 2 PM) to get them hemmed and a button replaced. He was incredibly friendly and broke down exactly what he was going to do, and also shared considerations that I didn't think about (such as saving some of the legging material in case they shrink from the wash). He contacted me today around 1 PM and asked that I come in to get them; the results were beautiful and I've never been happier with tailoring before. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking to get alterations done on their clothing! On my end, I'll be back in a couple of weeks to get my button-up shirts altered. Thank you, Mark!

KnockOut is a women's boutique clothing that sits on Liberty Avenue in the South Richmond Hill,…read moreQueens at the last stop of the A train Lefferts Boulevard. It contains modern and updated 2015 fashioned clothing at very reasonable prices. Items were marked below $30.00 per item. I was eying two sets of summer skirt outfit in the colors that I like but it was professional for the workplace with an open back as the top, open stomach plus no sleeves. It reminded me of the four ladies of "Sex and the City" clothing. I did not see any fitting rooms for try-outs. Clothing sizes do not carry petite just medium, medium large or large or average women sizes. Staff are inattentive to assist customers. They appear invisible, disgruntled with their attitudes and non-existent in time and space.

She asked me if I had a bag and I said no I didn't and gave me my purchase with no bag. When I asked her, she twisted her own question. She said "I asked do you need a bag and you said no." She didn't apologize and wanted me to pay for a bag (which is no big deal) but when I told her I only had my Apple Pay she gave me a paper bag with no handles and said she can only give me the "cheap bag." I can admit this is a first world problem I'm venting about--but I bought a bunch of dresses and carrying it is super uncomfortable all cause she couldn't give me a 50¢ handle bag.
